My friends came for a Luau and I hung out at the beach. Enjoyed the nice sand and waves while I ate frozen yogurt. As the sun set I saw people rounding the beach in front of the Luau and decided to explore the area too. The lighthouse looked stunning backlit by the setting sun and pink stained clouds as the waves crashed onto the rocky shore. Little fish darted in the mini pools while crabs scurried across the sand. If you're lucky, you'll find a cute tribe of hermit crabs. It's best to leave them alone and enjoy watching them crawl in their pool. While the songs played in the background and the waves crashed higher from the rising tide, the sun set into the sea. Best to leave right after the sun disappears. Come 1.5 hours before sunset. Lots of fisherman and a couple homeless stragglers. The ride through looks sketchy a few minutes right before reaching the beach parking lot but it's worth the drive/uber.

This beach looked like it has alot of potential but after being there for 5 min and seeing nothing but dead fish and birds along the shore it got quite depressing. The beach was also littered with garbage and broken glass everywhere : ( i gave it 2 stars just because the tidepools were cool and the view of the lighthouse was neat.

You have to drive thru a heavily industrialized area to get here. But if privacy, solitude and quiet enhance your beach experience, this is the location for you. Come during the week and you'll have the place to yourself.

I was in the area for a used car part from the junk yard, and stopped by to see this corner of the island. A fisherman, a couple locals, and a work crew, but otherwise just a quiet corner of Paradise. No swimming. Lighthouse was really accessable. Industrial sights and smells abound. And a lot of black crabs.

This beach has the potential to be a really nice place. There are some houseless folks who have made this area their own. Not sure if the trash I saw was theirs or from others. There are also trashed/abandoned cars in the parking lot. The smell here is not so welcoming. Can’t say I’d return.

This place is beautiful. Probably one of the best sunsets on island with the lighthouse in the back. However, just like most places along the South to West side of the island, this beach park has been overrun with homeless. The facilities are a disaster to include feces everywhere. The showers become showers to homeless at the end of the day. The smell is atrocious as well. The state does nothing to keep it in working order. Time for a statewide security bill to protect these areas and keep the homeless out.

Barber's Point Beach is probably the best for just chilling and enjoying the view of the ocean. I wouldn't recommend it for swimming or other water activities. Two main reasons: 1) shore is rocky 2) factories' waste When I came here for the first time - I noticed all the junk cars and different factories located at this side of the island. What I didn't know - is that waste from these factories is probably being dropped into the ocean here at this point. You can see on the photos the little "river" that goes to the ocean waters but does not connect all the way. Ive never noticed that the liquids would actually go into the ocean but I think when it's raining - the water probably rises and so all this stuff gets into the pure waters. The view of the ocean here is very pretty and there aren't that many people regardless of the time of the day. I like it here since it's always really quite and pretty but wouldn't recommend for swimming. For surfing - waves aren't that big.

Overall Barber’s Point beach, and the lighthouse are quite beautiful. Don’t let the drive in, nor the fear of the unhoused keep you away. You’ll be welcomed to stunning views, and very few others around. Those that do call the area home, they’ll respect you, if left alone, and respected as any human would wished to be.

Do not go there thinking it's a nice beach to watch the sunset or walk to the lighthouse. Homeless people live on the path. We immediately turned around and walking back to our car not even 5 minutes later, homeless people were looking in our car. Definitely not cool nor felt safe.

Easy access to parking lot. Convenient restroom (moderately clean). Trash cans are maintained nicely. Perfect access to ocean but not recommended for swimming. Stay safe as the area has some "action" with some homeless folx.

The view is beautiful, but the beach itself is definitely not a spot I'd pick compared to many other beautiful beach locations. It is in the middle of an industrial zone, which really detracts from the experience.

The place is beautiful. However there is a smell and I hate that the luau is right there which is a little annoying.

Beautiful point of view.located in an industrial area of Kapolei, it is off the beaten path but worth the trouble to find. There is an old light house built in 1933 that is a beacon for the sea fairing individual.

This is a very strong 4-star rating, like a 4.75-4.89. Barbers Point is the kind of beach park where you get what you put in.

Hidden gem for sure! If you like light houses, park at the beach park and it's a very short walk!

Came to swim, but unless ur are super determined and used to rock, do not recommend for a swim. How ever seem like a good place for a beach day for the little one as it hast their little lagoons. Or maybe photo session

Meth head taking a shower next to the restrooms. So many better options on the island. This place was just aight for me..... actually, don't waste your time!

Good bodyboarding surf here, and you always have the tradewinds. But the park is neglected as far as maintenance. Looks like the trash cans get emptied regularly, but that's it. A short, narrow, soft sand beach is buffered by a thin patch of grass and lots of red dirt. 15 picnic tables in good condition but no shade trees, only palms. You drive through an industrial park to reach the parking lot. Not a fan.

It's a nice place to bring your dog and if you wanted to fish. And if you wanted some alone time to relax with just you and your company. But it's far to much rock's and coral to go in farther into the water.. it does have a shower and bathroom and about twenty picnic tables to eat at and parking is available here too.

Area was a bit industrial and there was a homeless presence, but the park is clean and has a nice view.

Hawaii is gorgeous rain or shine! Being from WA even if it's raining it's warm! Water is blue, beaches ⛱️ were clean!

Went there to watch the sunset. Beautiful scenery with the lighthouse. The beach restaurant was having a show.

Killer spot to just cruise. Beach is nice. Clean up after yourself and while you are ethereal. Leave the beach better than you found it.

Nice sunsets at this beach just wish the park was taken care of better. Really needs some grass so you don't have to walk through dirt and mud.

Don't swim here extremely sharp coral rocks. beautiful Tanning location, sand and mud are soft as well. Showers work.

Not a swimming beach but a fun place to walk and discover sea treasures. Dog friendly.

This is a very quiet, apparently lesser visited, westside beach. The 360° view is very unique. From a gorgeous brilliant aqua surf with white sand and dancing palm trees, to a derelict, bombed out dock or building, to what appears to be a busy scrapyard and extended industrial storage sites. There were some women hanging out in the bathroom and what might have been a hookup site couple meeting up, but everyone was friendly and completely nonthreatening. We got some water for our dog from one of the outdoor showers there. The water was VERY cold. I will try to remember that next time I go, so I don't jump out of my skin when I go to rinse off. Overall, I gave it only 3 stars because it was just kind of *okay*. A safe, quiet place to kill time while waiting for an appointment at City Hall. And a decent place to take an online date, apparently. Or take a brisk shower, should the date not show.
