This is a nice beach park to come to if you have kid's or are a beginner at swimming. It reminds me of a larger lagoon very shallow for the most part unless you decide to travel out towards the wall it gets deeper out there. The water was fairly mercy it could have been the day, but no surf or boogie bored going on up here. This beach is all about the kid's. There's plenty of parking, restrooms, showers, and a mini park, with a slide and swings, and picnic tables to eat at. I hope this helps you out and have a great day. There are also some great views up here at the beach.

Great beach, good local vibe and no tourists. South end of the bay is calm and great for little ones, north end has a little more life to it so surfing works. Restaurants are nearby, lots of space, playground and showers. The bathhouse is closed for renovations currently. Should be open again soon. Parking gets tight so plan ahead. Turtles and rays are here, and early in the morning dolphins. Mind your doggos please.

This is a wonderful, local beach for families. We visited on a Tuesday, mid day, and it was not busy at all. The water was calm and great for swimming, with a couple of sea turtle swimming close to the beach. The water wasn't very clear so the place where we were want great for snorkeling, but it may have just been the day we visited. The beach was clean with lots of soft sand, great to spread out a towel and soak up the sun.

Pokai Bay is a nice calm family friendly and oriented beach. It is calm for the keiki to play and not worry too much. There is ample parking. There is plenty of room if you want to SUP. Easy to snorkel, and some days, the water clarity is better than others. The public restrooms are being worked on and improved upon right now, but there are Porta Potty's available. We enjoy coming here to relax, especially during the week when it isn't overcrowded. Tour boats come in quite regularly and allow tourists to SUP and snorkel in the bay.

Beautiful beach! Wasn't to crowed when I was there and was perfect for my daughter to snorkel safely. Decent parking, life guard, rinse station and restrooms.

4.4/5 stars. Beautiful beach with seawall to protect from waves. Good for kidlets or anyone seeking still water at a quiet local beach. Just South are a number of homeless encampments but the park itself is clean and seems safe.

My favorite Bay on the West side, there's a 711 right neat by, it's perfect for family. Ot has a park as well. If you come here make sure to swing by Coquitos Cuban Food right across from Mcds. Their triplets sammich is my absolute favorite. I'd check to see if they're open on the day you plan in coming just in case.

This is my family's favorite beach; we have never had problems parking here, the main beach is protected from the surf, so great for kids. Bathrooms can be hit or miss, they were recently vandalized, but are largely functional again today. You can regularly see Hono and Monk Seals swimming by.

This spot is great for gathering your people and enjoying the calm waters of this beach. There is a lot of parking and lots of space for people to spread out. The 'amenities' (bathrooms) are less than desirable, though - short-walled stalls that offer zero privacy and mashed with feces and sand. It's pretty gnarly. But in a pinch, you can test your own standards. F that mess! Stick to the beach, fun in the sand, jump in the water (as long as the bacteria levels aren't too high) and soak up the sun.

Beautiful, calm beach on the idyllic leeward coast. Easy parking, gentle waves and soft sand. Popular, so come early to get a good spot. Turtles, rays and seals are frequently seen.

I come here when I want to get a workout in my Kayak. It's well protected from the waves and a really nice beach! Lots of parking and not crowded on weekdays. I've even seen turtles poking their head out of the water while kayaking!

Of the pros: there are tables, you can fry meat, there is a playground, a beautiful view of the mountains, a lot of parking spaces. Cons: there are only plastic toilets and they smell terrible and dirty, and the location is far away.

Tucked away from sight and yet easy to get to. Free parking and tables for eating your sunset dinner on the westside of Oahu. Restrooms available.

Quiet water protected by break wall. Good for floating and snorkeling and learning to paddle board.

Great place to have a small family party or hangout. The weather on this side of the island is usually favorable, so that combined with the usually calm waters at this area makes a great place to come back to if you feel like going to the beach. An issue though is the unsanitary public restrooms (that usually stink) and how the "good side" of the beach is actually on the rest camp's side.

Great little park for family picnic, gathering or just hanging at the beach. Bathrooms are portables until they fix up the permanent ones. This place gets busy on the weekends in the afternoon and Sundays you can sometimes catch a tent sermon on the grass. Found a little out of the way spot to hang out. Few homeless but they are pretty chill.

I just love it here, it's in walking distance to my sisters house, perfect for family gatherings and has recreational paddling available in the winter months.
