This place was out of this world. It was SO cute, not crazy. It doesn’t serve alcohol so if you’re looking for a drink with your sushi this isn’t the place. If you want top quality service; beautifully made food… then look no further. You have to use the scan code to put your place in line; make sure you bring your mask, ID & vaccination card!!! Enjoy the sushi train! It’s by far the coolest thing I’ve got to experience!

Let's rate this review from start to finish... The initial walk in was really good, greeted and sat almost immediately. I guess Tuesday isn't quite a busy night, as there were many open tables, booths and bar type seatings. That's where things went a little slow on service, the girl who sat us asked what we wanted to drink. As we were giving our drink orders, she had to abruptly leave, when she came back she couldn't remember even one drink from our order, so we had to start all over. I have no idea where she had to run off to, but at least she came back.. After that ordering is always a bit humbug at this location because the iPads that they use to be able to take orders is attached to the table. When sitting on the outside part of the table, it is very inconvenient to have to reach over to look at the menu, they don't even have the regular laminated paper menus to look at. Aside from that, ordering stuff is usually pretty easy, select what you want and press the order button... Another thing that bothers me, is that you don't know what is in the sushi rolls, you just have to look at the picture and try to figure it out, and it's not like you can bring the iPad close to your face to examine the picture, you kind of just have to know... Another thing I noticed about genki is that a lot of their roll sushi is the same, but they just have different toppings, which I find a little bit strange, but I never really noticed before.. Also, after we ordered a few things, which you can only order 4 things at a time, but continuously if you wish, we were brought something we didn't order... We had to double check what we did order just in case someone accidently added it on.. but we didn't, and had to call the server back. Which there is a convenient button on the iPad. The girl promptly came back and took back the wrong order... But makes you wonder if they're paying attention... The sushi was good, rolls, sashimi, sukiyaki udon, french fries, poke bowl, and and nigiri, so overall food was good. But service was lacking a bit, we made a drink order through the iPad and it never came... We waited 10 mins...after we tried the service button... We tried it three times before someone came to check up on us. What was annoying about that situation, was that there were at least 5 to 6 girls standing by the drink station.... Overall food was good, but service brought the stars down...

This location Is big and spacious. Its very busy 20-30 minute wait. The menu has grown and so many items to choose from. The tablets make it so easy to order your favorites or try something new. It is delivered right to your table in a timely fashion. Many selections for food, drinks and dessert! The food here don't disappoint. Tasty and very delicious. ❤️🙌Our server this evening was the fabulous TIA, she provided us with our best experience ever. She was so thoughtful and kind. Her personality was the best. She took good care of us and check up on us. I even had to ask if she was the manager! Her introduction to us was what really set the tone for our evening. You can certainly tell she loves her job and is very good at it. Thank you Tia 😊 we had a good time! Still the best!

We tried dining in on Thursday, Oct 6, at around 4 pm and we were denied entry by the Manager/Supervisor in the black shirt, female, dark hair, because we had our service dog with us and she asked us for documentation for our service dog, which we did not have on hand. There was NO SIGN out posted out anywhere about no animals allowed either or that we had to bring in documentation for service dogs. So we had to wait outside with our hungry kids, while our brother drove back home to drop off our dog. So we waited for another 20-30 minutes until our brother returned so we could get seated. Only to get greeted with rude & slow service by our first female server, not even sure if she was our server because no one introduced themselves. She brought out a bunch of wrong items and barely checked on us. It was very empty & we had to constantly ring for help. We felt bad we had to keep asking this other nice server, male with glasses, who was the only one who was checking on us. He was great, everything else was terrible. I also know the tips here are PULLED and split, I felt uncomfortable and that its a rip off that our tip is going to undeserving staff who never bothered to check on us, when it should have all went to that one very nice male server, who was the only one who helped us this entire time. We dine there almost once a week and this was the worst experience we’ve had.

Really great place for sushi. My kids loved the trays that come out of the kitchen. No need to talk to a waitress, which is kinda fun. Pretty affordable for sushi, and it was very tasty. I will definitely be back

Pleasant enough experience and solid flavor profiles with great textures. Very fresh. Selection is plain crazy in a good way.

This place is so cool! All your food is sent to your table on a little train car. So so cool. Friendly service and such delicious, fresh sushi! You were also able to customize almost everything.

The spaces between the booth and the tables are a bit tight. The food is always good and arrives in a timely manner. The wait wasn't too long for us. The service was good. Always great for a quick stop to grab a bite before going shopping. Nothing fancy, no frills and we always enjoy our time there. The walkway will be a bit tight if you try to sit your little one in a high chair. Better to just sit them in the booth with you so they don't feel like they're in the way.

I will admit that the cars to bring your food are pretty cool but there's no ingredients on the menu and even after explaining to the waiters that I had allergies that I had to be mindful of they wouldn't give me a menu with ingredients. I had to wait forever for anything that couldn't be ordered from the tablet like asking for certain sauces and I don't think the sushi is that great. Yeah it's cheap but you definitely get what you pay for

Whenever we are craving for sushi, this is the place we go to (Kapolei). Kids always love the tablet order menu and Train delivery. Service always great and food taste the same or better, although we noticed the serving becomes smaller than usual 😁.

I enjoy dining at this location. The service is really good as well. They kept our water and tea cups full, and came to check a few times if everything was okay. This is one of my favorite locations on the island.

The food was good and reasonably priced and they have a lot of options to choose from and you get to order your food right from your table and this little train brings it out to you. It reminded me of being a kid, but also cool little concept to stick out from other restaurants and you can really get to enjoy your company that you are with. Without any interruptions because you get to order from the kiosk right at your table. I hope this helps you out and have a great day

Got a few meals here and found my rolls and nigiri to be reliably fresh each time (including the rice). Beware that their online ordering can be glitchy. Call ahead to make sure they got the order before leaving.

Pros: cute train delivered sushi, good prices. Cons:Long wait times, no interaction with a server -which is fine if you are the kind of person that needs NOTHING when they eat out and doesn't need to modify or ask about what's in anything- and they brought us the wrong bill. Won't be coming back

All the food is pretty good for the speed it comes out in. Kids enjoy seeing the train. If you order soup/noodles it may come out slower. Katsu chicken is a very small portion. Also, they don't have knives...so if you need to cut up food for little kids, bring your own.

Super sweet server, I didnt catch his name, but he was very attentive, kind, and quick! It made our meal all the more enjoyable. 5 stars for his service and their food of course.

Awesome food and a fun experience! We got there around 7pm on a Wednesday. There was already quite a line that had formed and we were #16 in line. The estimate wait time was over an hour but we got in around 50 minutes later. Food: we tried several sushis as well as a couple sides and a bowl. Everything was super tasty and the experience of having it served to you on a small bullet train was very novel! Service: once seated, all servers we interacted with were very kind. The sushi chefs were short staffed that night and one of our rolls was a bit delayed but the rest were out in a reasonable amount of time (about 10 minutes). You can only order 4 items at a time so make your next order right after you submit your first one so you don't get stuck waiting for a long time. Cleanliness: the restaurant was very well maintained.
