We loved this hike! It's rocky and steep, and it's pretty windy, especially as you get closer to the top. We took our 5-year old with us and he did pretty well, though he does hike often with us. We went early to beat the sun and crowds, and we were not disappointed. The views are absolutely breathtaking. At some points I was questioning my decision to keep going up, but the view at the top is more than worth it.

When you get to the split in the trail, go left unless you want to be doing a near vertical climb/rock scramble. Not for the faint of heart. Awesome views at the top though.

Wonderful short but challenging steep hike up to some of the best views on the island. Narrow trail so be prepared to step aside and let folks pass regularly. Worth the climb up to the WW2 pillboxes at the top that provide some incredible vistas. Hike up took about 25mins. Hike down took about 15mins.

Very hot hike. Start it in the morning! Easy path for dogs and kids. Great views of the westside. Lots of car break ins at this hike. Make sure to hide everything in your car, lock your doors, put on the emergency brake, and have insurance. Didn't happen to us (thank god) but happened to a couple that finished the hike a few minutes before us.

Hike is fairly short but since it's uphill it feels more dramatic then it is. It's okay to take breaks on the way up, I took about 3 because my heart rate was faster then I'd like. Views from the top are worth the climb does get windy, double check the forecast to before leaving, it'll get hot in the Sun.

Perfect little hike! Very short hike (~20 mins) with a fairly steep incline and BEAUTIFUL views at the top. The pink pill box against the beautiful west side is breath-taking. Not too crowded either and choke parking at the trail head on the side of the road. My best advice is go up kinda early so you can hike when its cooler out. Once the sun hits that rock - its hella hot!

It was really good 🥾 hiking. The road is all the way straight up and straight down, so it was a little challenge but the view on top of the mountain paid off that.

Beautiful hike, parking isn't in the neighborhood the GPS might take you to. Just park on the side of the road where the trail begins. You will most likely see many other cars parking there since it is a popular hike.

I usually hike this trail in the morning and then go to the beach afterwards. But hiking it for sunset is probably the better option. One tip, don’t leave any valuables in the car, they are car break ins oretty often around here.

A very fun moderate hike off the beaten path to some old World War II bunkers with a breathtaking  360° view of the west side of the Island! Make sure to bring some water as it is a bit strenuous and not much shade near the top. Way less crowded than Diamond Head and well worth the hike!!
