This is a beautiful beach with some amazing views. Great for fishing and surfing, but not a great place for family fun time and kids on the beach. Way too many rocks and very little space for kids to go in anywhere past their knees. The drive to it was also bad, with an uncared for road and random homeless tents in different places. It’s a great option to sit and chill, or surf, but many other options out there for kids as this is not a good one.

Parking is free and we didn't have trouble finding an open spot. Nice place to walk along the beach in the sand but some areas are rocky with sand-colored rocks, so be careful. Probably not an ideal place for young kids to swim at. We saw a lot of people fishing and having a cookout on beach.

The view once in the water is OK. But this beach shouldn't be on here since its like reviewing someone's backyard. It's a local thing. Other than that, It's just not--- not a family beach, not clean and land areas are Not beautiful. Not sure why someone would lead you to believe this. See pictures for yourself. Travelers can enjoy plenty of the other beaches that would be more suitable. I am not even sure why they are building houses nearby... not a good location and probably never will be.

This beach is unquestionably popular among the locals. It is nothing special, and in fact, there is not even a bathroom there any longer. However, there is a large amount of parking available, as well as trash cans, in order to preserve the environment. The beach is spotless, and the surf seems to go on forever. At this spot, the locals go fishing and surfing all the time, and the scenery is breathtaking.

One’ula Beach Park is a very laid back public beach for the locals. The beach was being utilized for surfing, swimming, fishing, camping and just relaxing in the sun. The sand is soft, the waves are smooth and the sun rays are warm. You get a distant view of Diamand Head and the Waikiki beach area. There is one shower, one portable toilet and plenty of free parking on the day of my visit.

I love this place. There is quite a bit of homeless, but they don't seem to bother anyone. It's beautiful. Not the best place for swimming more of a beach combers beach. Nice for a walk, and a lazy day in my hammock.

This was a great park if you want to bring your dog to. They have a huge field to play in,and if your dog enjoys the water there is a nice Stretch of sand they can play in. It is also a great place to surf and boogie bored, I would bring swim shoes, it did look like it has a lot of rocks- coral in the Shallow parts of water, picnic tables, showers and restrooms are available. I hope this helps you out and have a great day

This is hau bush. Beach is beautiful. Visitors just be extra cautious being there are many homeless who live here. But the water, view and where you can drive up to the water line is priceless. Enjoy. Lived here all my life. This is a beach I've come to since I was 8 years old.

I volunteered to pick up some trash with a group. Once the Sun starts to come out this really is a beautiful beach but it could be better if there wasn't so much trash.

Cool beach! We parked and had a picnic here. There are no tables or shaded areas here so bring an umbrella if you're coming here during a bright sunny day. The beach is clean but there are houseless individuals and tents here. They didn't bother us. There are no bathrooms at the location, at least bathrooms we couldn't find. The parking lot is not paved so it is a very bumpy parking lot. But there are many parking spots. Overall, an excellent spot to view the Honolulu skyline from afar.

The park was packed with competing speakers, impossible to hear any one of them and enjoy music. Beach is not soft sand, it’s corse and it’s a shallow stretch, with a steep drop off. When we walked up we wondered why no one was in the water, well, it’s rough, steep, and pretty churned up. Not at all like Waikiki or Kailua. The parking was almost non existent which forces you to park on the busy street, cross, and hike to the beach park entrance. No plans to go back. Didn’t even stop walking to take a photo. ☹️

The area is GORGEOUS!!!! It's definitely my favorite beach. The beach is open all night, but not very lit at night. Be cautious if you're venturing out late and bring a flash light because there are rocks on the beach that will tear your foot up. Pets are allowed if you clean up after them.

A great beach for surfing, relaxing, and sunbathing. Showers on site and not usually crowded, just has a rocky coastline beyond the sand. Not great for swimming or getting your feet wet, but still a great beach.

Great place to surf. Not a great place for small children. Lots of reef.

Love this place. People talk about their safety cause of the houseless that reside there. They are friendly and if you are ever in need they will help. Respect them they will respect you just like anywhere you go in this world.

We were the only people on the beach. It not for everyone. Was told it is not a swimming beach. But it is a place if you want to be away from the crowds. More like a locals beach.
