I had the pleasure of visiting Poison Cafe and Bar in Chino Roces, Makati, and I must say, it left quite an impression. Here's my experience: First, I tried their Salted Mocha Coffee, and it was a delightful surprise. When it arrived at my table, it had that deep, all-black appearance that usually hints at a strong americano. However, the moment I took that initial sip, I was pleasantly taken aback. It was creamy, rich, and offered a perfect harmony of saltiness and chocolatey goodness. The creaminess was an unexpected twist that set it apart from the typical mochas, and I found myself savoring every drop. The indoor ambiance at Poison Cafe and Bar is fantastic. The space boasts great air conditioning, which is a relief, especially on warm days. The industrial interiors give it a trendy, urban feel, but what really caught my eye was their modern touch – their brand name in LED lights and a projector on the wall. It adds a unique and contemporary flair to the place, making it perfect for a casual hangout or even a business meeting. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, which added to the overall positive experience. Although I didn't get a chance to sample their donuts this time, I'm already making plans for a return visit. The coffee alone is enough reason for a comeback, and I'm eager to explore more of their menu. Sometimes, all you need is a stellar cup of coffee to make a cafe worth revisiting, and Poison Cafe and Bar certainly delivers in that department. In summary, whether you're a coffee lover or just looking for a cool spot to relax in Makati, Poison Cafe and Bar should definitely be on your list. Their Salted Mocha Coffee is a delightful twist on a classic, and the ambiance and friendly service make it a must-visit. I, for one, can't wait to return, even if it's just for another cup of their exceptional coffee.

Area is being protected by guards. One has a shotgun, so don't mess with them. 😉 The Cafe itself was nice. Coffee was good and the doughnut as well. I tried the hazelnut blue cheese, but it didn't remind me on these flavors. Mostly chocolate. But had a nice companion 😻

Poison offers a great ambiance and great food. I ordered Aburi Kakuni and my friends ordered Katsudon, Chicken Teriyaki, and Turon Donut. You can actually share the meal set if you're easily full. I incredibly enjoyed my meal and was so full after. A great place to hang out and/or have a quick coffee, which they also offer.

We did not try the coffee but we did try the Thai tea with lime as well as the Thai tea with milk. The Thai tea with lime was refreshing and the Thai tea with milk was not too sweet. The tonkatsu ramen had good flavor, while the pork and the soft boiled egg were cooked nicely. They have very creative flavors for their doughnuts. We tried the following: choco-mallows, chocnut, hazelnut blue cheese, champorado, kikko-man, and the turon. The texture of all the doughnuts were great-- they were not dry at all. Our favorite flavors were the Choco Mallows and the Kikko-man.

The Coffee is just an average one and the Doughnuts are good. Next time I will try their Ramen. Parking space can be limited on peak hours.

Donuts are great! I don't know how they captured flavors like Maja Blanca and Mangga't Suman in their donuts.

Not a doughnut person but this was really yummy. Not cakey (yuck). More like a light, airy bread. Salted dark chocolate, blueberry glaze and egg custard brulee!

Beautifully crafted doughnuts with flavors done right. This cafe is lined alongside Toyo Eatery at the Karrivin Alley in Makati. The space is creatively assembled for people who likes to work outside office or simply to savor good-tasting doughnuts.

Nothing special about the coffee. But their doughnuts are SUPERB! They have those nostalgic flavors we enjoyed during our childhood like hawkaw, iced gems, choco mallows, chocnut. They also have champorado flavored doughnut which i really loved. And glazed, blueberry glazed and salted dark chocolate. For coffee, hot mocha is good. I dont recommend the cold ones especially the cold brew. It's a Total Waste of money.

The ambiance is not too grand but it’s pleasing to eyes, at least for me. The food was superb, having tried ramen, doughnuts and coffee. The ramen was great! The broth was very tasty and perfect. I think it gives a good run of my money in comparison with my favorite ramen place. Must try! The coffee and doughnuts are as always, perfect match! But seeing as the doughnuts are sweet, I suggest to get a coffee that’s less sweet to balance it out. The variety of flavors the doughnuts have are wow, very new to me. The flavors are very experimental but it all taste great! I can’t pick one as a must try, that’s why we ended up taking out some. And for the price? I’d say average of 90php per doughnut would seem expensive at first but it’s a good deal considering the doughnuts are huge and the flavors are not like the mainstream doughnut shops. Overall, it’s a very good place. Highly recommended to try! Also, we got a discount of 20% for using BDO. Which came as a surprise to us. But even without it, it’s a well spent money for a good food!

For a donut and coffee place they serve decent Japanese food, the star of the meal was the Chicken Karaage because it's super juicy and flavorful. The ramen felt like there was something missing since all that I'm tasting is salt. I wish they would improve on the broth of the ramen. The Tablea Donut was also very good, we liked the tablea filling since it's not too sweet and the dough was soft and fluffy.

Probably one of the best donut places in metro Manila, poison makes both savoury and sweet donuts. This place has two floors and is a nice place for a snack or a coffee. The donuts are always made fresh. They're also available for take away.

In this cafe’s namesake - Poison - isn’t the same as their food Because I was totally disappointed with their version of a Japanese dish - Abura Soba ... as within this small meal with limited ingredients... the noddles was really undercooked Even thou I wasn’t impressed with my dish only ... I liked the atmosphere of this hidden away coffee & donut cafe - with some selected meals ( why I gave a higher review ) The Poison Cafe is located at the also hidden away Alley establishments

Coffee was not hot enough for my liking. Isn't it suppose to be scalding hot?

I was surprised with how good the coffee was. Doughnuts weren't bad either according to my companions.

Tried black coffee and their doughnuts. Not sure of the coffeebeans but it has a sour taste (i forgot the beans I've tried before, tastes similar with their black americano). As for their doughnuts, it tastes like cronuts :) Location: a bit far from Ayala Makati since its at the end of pasong tamo extension

got the ramen and 1 ube doughnut and 1 milk tea doughnut ramen’s broth was really really good, the pork was a little over cooked, but all in all a solid ramen ube doughnut a little too rich for me but my partner loved it milk tea doughnut was average, the milk tea custard had a good balance and wasn’t too sweet, but the topping was a little weird all in all, great value and food was still great :)

Dint try their coffee but the donuts are aesthetically pleasing and good. However the matcha is too strong for me but i love how moist the donuts are, nothing too special about the flavor though but its better than well known donut chains in thr city :)

The BEST DONUTS available locally!!! Love the Turon and Sharp Cheddar Chocolate Dough 😋

  • 3/5 April S. 1 year ago on Google
Great service from the staff. Although I must say that the doughnuts were just exaggeratedly "hyped up". It's cool that they named them after some classic childhood candy favorites like choc-nut, pochi, hawhaw but they don't taste like it at all. The only doughnut that I liked is Cuba Libre (dipped in rhum)

The ambiance, their staff and service are great, I'll give it 5 out of 5. But the coffee and donuts are kinda overrated. Will I comeback because of their food? No.

Another good concept of The Tasteless Group! Unique doughnuts freshly baked! We had Garam Masala and Macapuno Pie flavors. The latter was excellent! Bottled coconut water Espresso coffee was good too with the coconut water taking off some of the edge off the strong coffee taste

Best hidden donut store in Makati. This place has good coffee to go with your donut. In case you're hungry they also serve ramen.

  • 5/5 Majerle M. 3 years ago on Google
The food was good! I personally tried the Yuzu Abura Soba and the Blueberry Glaze doughnut and they were both great. They were following COVID-19 health protocols by distancing the table from each other, as well as providing utensils and cutlery in sealed plastic bags. We dined outside and the ambience is nice and quiet.

After having a great meal at the mess hall, this is the place to go to fill your cravings for sweets! The cafe showcases a minimalist interior design. They have black metal tables and chairs and two shelves where books, magazines and reading materials are placed for guests to browse through for free. We ordered a bunch of doughnuts and drinks. Prices are reasonable for the size and flavor. For me, this is one of the cafes that offer good-tasting doughnuts at a good price. If you're near the area, this is a must visit place! 😊👍

The best coffee and doughnuts in manila. Their berry doughnut is a must try. Their coffee is a musy try. I'd definitely try their "wrong ramen" next time.

The place is cozy and relaxing, very quiet in the morning to early afternoon on weekdays. Can’t say if it's the same later part of the day. Non-distracting ambient music is perfect for working productively. Staff is helpful, kind, and courteous. Really good plain glazed doughnut, so fluffy and soft that it’s impossible to eat with your bare hands—it will fall off! J.Co and Krispy Creme would be ashamed. Will try other varieties next time. My sister complained about sour coffee, must be faulty brew during her visit, or she’s not used to the fruitiness. My black coffee was fine, however, and I like it very much! I’m a twice-daily espresso drinker and I find their americano a bit strong but the kick is just enough for a 7oz serving. I can imagine getting wild palpitations if consume another cup. The only drawback is the lack of WiFi/Internet connectivity. Smart 4G/LTE signal is decent for browsing (about 2-3 out of 4 bars on iPhone). Plenty of parking available. Restrooms are clean but located outside so if you’re alone you might need to leave your things unattended longer than necessary to do your stuff. The place seems safe, but of course, I wouldn’t be too complacent on leaving my valuables anywhere. Overall, I would highly recommend the place for digital nomads and for those hunting for good coffee and donuts. Would definitely come back.

This place is incredible. The atmosphere is wonderful the coffee is fantastic. The donuts are delicious they’re experimental without straying far from the classic flavors. The place is also nice and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

What's your Poison? They have lots of options... aside from the good coffee from Yardstick. They also have a wide variety of flavors for their Doughnuts. The place looks like a speakeasy tucked away at the back of the alley. But its quite obvious people come here to take care of their doughnut cravings after a meal. Champorado, Hazelnut Blue Cheese or Salted Egg Choco? Those are the Poisons you have to contend with when it comes to doughnut.

  • 5/5 Mc Jazer M. 4 years ago on Google
Awesome place to hang out, chill, or meet. You can also do client meetings in the morning since it is not packed on weekdays. Located at a place which is quite exclusive, there is a sort of place of secrecy to this place - like a hidden coffee place in Makati. Other than the dark, freshly brewed coffee, try out their doughnuts as well. Poison got its name for their awesome coffee and servings. The doughnuts are on the right taste of sweetness. It can be a bit sticky, but totally to try for. Poison is your balance to chill out and meet out.

  • 2/5 J M. 4 years ago on Google
I'm disappointed. The doughnuts are over rated and I'm sorry to say not good. I bought a whole box only to regret it.

The Tonkotsu ramen was a savory delight, boasting rich pork broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The savory umami flavors combined with tender pork belly created a satisfying bowl. The sweet dessert doughnuts were a delightful finish, offering a sugary contrast to the savory main course. Paired with the unique ube smoothie, the meal was a harmonious blend of savory and sweet, making it a memorable culinary experience.
