The Market Authorities are currently carrying out renovation work. The place is okay for a local market. It can't be compared with other markets I have visited in big cities.

This place is a shadow of itself. The market has been deserted by major traders as a result of constant fire outbreaks. Things are not longer as cheap as it used to be. The slogan "food basket of the nation" is not applicable to this as things are now very expensive. I will not recommend this market to anyone. There is a bush market section I am not too sure of how expensive things are there, one could try, they might just be lucky. Kindly note that the bush market section is mostly food stuffs or groceries.

One of the most popular market in Makurdi.. a well arranged, neat and organized market... Nothing you will look for that you can't find as everything in situated in a specific place.. the village market is where food stuffs is being sold, while the main market is for industrial and home made stuffs... Large space for car park, banks and atm also situated in the market...

Better parking since it got a new management. Has a separate market called the "village market" with more condiments than the main market. Clear walkways and easily Access stores. Practically every shopping need is available at the Makurdi Modern Market. The chicken abattoir could do with a bit more sanitation.

It's still the best market to visit in Makurdi if you're looking for a variety of options. It has ample walkways and is a safe place to do your shopping.

You could buy almost anything from this market. It's the biggest and most popular market in Makurdi

  • 4/5 Ofuka O. 5 months ago on Google
It's really a good place to visit. Firstly, what went through my mind while seeing from outside the market point was, " Is this not a school?". Things there aren't really cheap. You should expect people dragging you to their shops, knowing fully well that they don't even have you want. The market entrance has a Tollgate, this is highly commendable. I really appreciate the market gate.. this means their goods will be protected and from what I can see, business men and women can do business comfortably considering the market is well secured. I will recommend security, like Community police to help institute peace and order in the market for proper business to strive.

It's the best place to go shopping. You find almost everything you need, but things are quite expensive now with the economic downturn.

It's modeled to be a nice mordern market 50 years ago, it has a parking space, stalls and walkways, there's just one bank and a couple of it's ATM machines. The market has no use able public toilets, it has no garbage disposal system and disposes it waste in a dangerous way to eco system around it's vast 4 walls. It has burnt down 3 times and fire service response was very poor, shops are easily burgled.

The market has standard structure, very big in size, and they sell almost all kinds of items, ranging from food's stuff, utensils, building materials, plumbing material, herbicides, insecticides, decorating items, clothing, bookshop, and there is an extra portion that sells all sort of local or traditional food and all other local necessary items items someone needs, like locustbein, floor of different kind, yams, orange, okra, beef, goat, chicken, pikin, meat etc, there are places you can make your hair too male or female some I can't remember to mention right now

The Place is Okay. It has many shops with of course various division and different products. It's not really organized even as the passage between shops are narrow. In all its a place to get whatever u are looking for

You can get any good you want from modern market because they are brought directly from abroad, well, most of it, but their goods are quite expensive. This market has all that you can buy, and also like Wadata market, there are a lot of pick Pocketers there, always come to this market for a fast shopping. Extremely quiet, well, most of it because this market is divided into two, one part sells foreign and western items, while the other part is just like Wadata market, it's famously known as 'The Village Market' also really noisey, be careful of gang activities while entering the village market section, there are alot of complains about people getting robbed towards evening time there.

The wait at the gate for an entry ticket is very frustrating ,the roads within the market are badly in need rehabilitation ,however ,the market is vibrant and full of an assortment of products and services. There's a main market and a bush market within the complex There are tailors ,bead makers ,hat makers, grain crushers, pepper and tomato grinders etc these businesses cater to customers who purchase clothing materials and need sewing ,beads that need stringing ,event goers who need hats without delay and those who buy produce that needs blending. There's an abattoir and butchers .The market caters to many people of all classes
