Buka is a great place for Ghanaian and Nigerian local dishes. they do have some Western food too. It's a great place for friends and family. They close at 9 pm sadly 👀. It has a conducive atmosphere and a clean washroom setting. Check them out 🎉🤩

The food here is really good but the service, terrible. A menu was brought to us about 30 minutes after we had been seated. It took another 30 for the waiter to come back and take our orders. The food took forever to arrive. You should all ahead to make a reservation before going since the place can get full and you’ll have to wait a couple of minutes for people to leave before you get seated. I’m indifferent about going back here.

Buka has been an Accra staple that I patronize every visit to Ghana. I was disappointed to see they no longer had the peppered snails but the peppered octopus was not bad. The menu offerings were delicious. Service was a little slow but the server was lovely. Pricing was fair and the atmosphere was great.

If you’re going during peak hours, I recommend you call and make a reservation before getting there else you’ll be asked to wait at the waiting area until there’s a free table which is not the best if you’ll with guests. Finding a spot to pack might be difficult during peak hours but security will definitely help you find a spot. The food was generally good as always, my guests enjoyed their meal. I personally felt the size of their iconic tilapia has reduced a bit. I ordered for palm wine and oh my! The packaging and presentation was lovely. The taste was really good. My guest wanted a strong local drink but there was non on the menu so we had to go upstairs to go get it from the bar upstairs.

As always Buka is a great experience. Food tasted great, and the wait for the food went by quickly. Due to it being off-season we were seated quickly and were able to get our drinks without a hitch. Our server was very helpful with getting our order in as efficiently as possible. My only complaint is that the kitchen did not do such a great job packing our food to go.They neglected to pack my sisters banku as well as the sauce for our chicken. More attention is needed when packing food, but other than that I enjoyed the experience.

Visited on a Sunday and they only had buffet, food was okay a nice variety but a little cold for me. Service was not great nobody to greet and sit us once we entered. Was asked to sit downstairs in the end, as upstairs was full and tables were revered. The actual buffet was upstairs and still had to find our own seats.

The food is always good no matter what you ordered. The starter is amazing. Waiter(s) are very friendly and acts professionally. The live band on Wednesdays are so welcoming. What you see and orders is exactly what you get. The food served there can be ordered for any occassion

I really enjoyed the food here so much so that I visited 3 times on my short trip in Accra. Service can be a bit slow but I don't mind much. Walking in I knew I would like the food as it smelt like my own kitchen, full of flavourful aromas. I however didn't like the rice for the waakye it was extremely dried out. Would definitely return

Buka Restaurant in Osu Accra is a frosty place to have dinner. They administer all sorts of local and Continental dishes and non-alcoholic beverages as well. They also have alcoholic beverages 🍻. They have a seductress atmosphere and a parking slot for customers that turns up with vehicles 🚗.

This was an excellent restaurant offering not only Ghanian but Nigerian food. As a visitor to Ghana, this was an excellent dining experience. The menu had many local dishes. It was a very nice restaurant with excellent service. The drinks offered like pineapple juice, hibiscus with ginger were all great. The appetizer of goat was amazing. The main entree was served with excellent presentation. I was very impressed. I will be visiting again.

The food was amazing and the ambience was just right. The live music was everything you could dream of. For a minute, I thought the music was coming from the radio but there they were with their trumpet and keyboard singing all the oldies.

This place is such a breath of fresh air. The decor is very tastefully done, feels like a tropical paradise and has a lovely vibe. The menu has a good selection of west African dishes (but notw if you want fufu and soup or Waakye, it's only between noon and 3pm!). The service is very attentive (even if it took a while to get our water...which seems to be a running theme in a lot of restaurants in Accra). Everything else came in good time though, lovely cocktails and tasty food as well. Quite big portions, so if you have a small appetite you may want to share! Highly recommended!

African Ghanaian cuisine, serve was fast, they were very helpful guiding me through the menu and what to choose, of course food is spicy and some are too spicy like the peppered Octopus but even though it was delicious. Jollof rice was very good, in general each restaurant have his own twist and they all taste great

First time here and I must say im super impressed with the service. Fasttttttttttt... every order took less than 3minutes. My pina Colada was great .. Try their jerk pork.. you'd be mesmerized😍😋 Very soft and grilled to perfection. The waiters and waitresses were always on the look out . They constantly checked if we were okay or wanted something else. The live band was superb but it ended around 11:30pm. Place is still fun afterwards with people on the dance floor the whole time.

Excellent restaurant. From the atmosphere, service and food, everything was fantastic. The green salad was fresh with sweet tomatoes. The peppered smails were hot and moist but not rubbery. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. And the red fish steak was seasoned well, tasty and moist. The meat fell off the bone. But my favorite were the sweet plantains! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great place to get local Ghanaian cuisine with a touch of class. It was a bit noisy when I visited, the closest hand washing station wasn't working properly, and it was almost impossible to get a place to park. Otherwise it was a wonderful evening.

There are places where one creates memories. A place with refined taste, one that offers a blend of diversity in display, comfort and delicacies. Buka restaurant is definitely one such place. I relished the cocktail they started me off with, and then came the local cuisines...offering a mouthful of pleasantness. With a mix of locals and foreigners, the atmosphere was one of cool vibes offering a soft appeal. I went there in the evening and yeah, the mellow glow of the lightening was a delight to set me in the proper mood for food, positive vibes and love.

Bring your appetite. You will not be disappointed. I had the grilled tilapia with jollof rice. The portion size was very generous. The meal was delicious but there was a long wait before it was ready to be served. The place has a nice vibe and loads of seating throughout the restaurant.

  • 4/5 Kindness E. 4 years ago on Google
They serve really delicious meals and I love their cocktails ?. The downside is the crowd. You have to literally queue up waiting for people to finish their meals before you can secure a table. And that can take forever.

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Accra. The prices are a bit on the high side but are worth it. I liked that their restrooms were very clean and there was a station to wash hands. They serve everything West African. If you are lucky, you might sight a celebrity. I saw Jidena, the musician, when I visited. You can pay in cash or with card. I liked that they had those options.

Went to Buka for first time Buka very good food nice vibes. And during a week day afternoon, cool live music was playing. I enjoyed their avocado and chicken salad which was great, plus a side of tasty kelewele. Being in Ghana trying to watch my diet and eat more greens instead of constant carbs! Planned to go back on a weekend for brunch but was surprised they closed Sunday wanted to go. So can't to go back again very soon!

It was my first experience tasting Ghanaian food, and this was the right place to do it. The restaurant is charming, with great African Art all over the place. The staff is friendly and very efficient, but most of all, the food was great. They have very good Covid prevention measures in place and they enforce them. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant while in Accra.

One if the best traditional restaurants in Accra. The menu selection is not the biggest but it's plenty to keep you coming back for a couple months until you sample everything. The quality of food is excellent and very authentic Ghanaian. It's just like Mama would make at home. The service matches the food too with the waiters being very attentive and very happy to explain what the dished are to newcomers like me 🙂. Its not the cheapest of local restaurants but then the quality of food you get is worth the bill 💯. The ambiance is fantastic you can easily lose track of time time as you enjoy your meal with friends. I liked it so much its the only place went back to twice in the 3 days I spent in Accra. And I will make it a regular going forward on my trips to Accra.

Decent place to try local food at good prices. Service was comparatively more slow. Not sure I would recommend. With my wife we went on a Saturday lunch without reservation and we were able to get a table without waiting. I tried the grilled guinea fowl and with my wife we shared the coconut Britte and the Vibrant Mango sorbet for dessert. Food was only okeyish; I'm not an expert on Ghanaian food but I tried better when I went to Tamale. I also tried their Negroni which was not good at all. We didn't come back on the month we spent there but we didn’t also found another place with local food that was recommended in Accra.

This place has the best tasting food we've had during our visit to Accra. The okra stew, veggie kontomere (spinach), veggie kabobs, kelewele (fried plantains) were all delicious! The only downside is that it does take a while for the food to come, but the staff gave us some free sugar cane to munch on while we waited. The decor is nice, the facilities very clean with a nice breeze if you sit upstairs, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend having a meal here if you're in Accra!

It's lived up to its billing. It truly is must visit place when in Ghana. The place might be hyped but for all the good reasons. Ample parking space check. Good service check. Nice decor and well ventilated check. Cleanliness check. The food double check. Try the Waakye. Try the Amala. Take the coconut milk. They are all good. I could have had everything and the portions are really generous. I would definitely visit again.

Worse meal I ever ate after lockdown. Ordered extra goat meat for my okro stew. Meat NEVER came with stew. And I was neither informed. Guess they were expecting me not to notice and get charged. (Only logical explanation) . Instead I had a tasteless beef. Upon request, I was told the goat will come later. REALLY!! AFTER I was about done, goat arrives. Tasted like it was taken from garbage. Only reason a ate part of the meal was because i was starved. Wasted 267ghc on a one man meal for garbage! This wasn't the same buka I ate from some 5 years ago. Not to mention the 20ghc a shot for Gordon gin.. :-)..

For local fare that cost up to eight times what similar dishes cost elsewhere, I expected exceptional food and service. I was in for s disappointment though. The food was ordinary, and the service was even worse. The only salt gave is the ambience.

Beautiful hideout for some meal. I loved the atmosphere, the food and interestingly the prices were affordable for such a place and calibre of persons who visits ( I am only judging by how they were dressed and carried themselves around). Having between 35cedis to 70cedis can give you a good meal. Food ranges from Ghanaian dishes to African and other termed foreign dishes. A place for lunch meetings and night date 😎

Had one of the first services ever this Jan 16. Delay on the servicing (waited for about 2h for chicken and fries that I ordered for my kids then I gave up), no apologies or anything alike, some arrogant answers instead, and they charged me for the food I did not eat. Total disappointment.

It's the great outdoors for me. With COVID-19, it's the perfect hangout for the brave but cautious. Customers sit at a decent distance from each other. The food comes on time and the service is superb. The only shortfall was that only 2 servers out of about 20 had their masks on. And the whole time all I could think of was how I'd easily get infected if they had caught the covid bug. They need more sensitization for sure. That notwithstanding, I went there on a Friday and they had a fantastic all female band called the lipstick band playing and it was just wonderful.

Due to Covid, we couldn't eat in but did take outs. I had some Semo with Egusi soup and Orishishi(meat). I can't remember the price but I know it was worth it, the quantity of soup reminds me of Jevenik in Nigeria, it was a lot! Overall, it's a nice place.

Buka Restuarant is one of the best places for local dishes. They are good with Nigerian dishes too. Great ambience and great food. However when you order out you are charged for the pack the food will be placed in. In my opinion this is a bad practice and this must be stopped. Any top class restaurant which Buka boasts off should not do this. So basically you are being penalised for not coming to the Restuarant to eat but placing your order out and having it delivered. Which option will save Buka more money and is more convenient in this era? When I come to eat in your restaurant I consume your AC, I use the service or your staff and you also have to use soap, water and tissues to get my plates cleaned up aside manpower that will also do that and yet you charge for mere packages that foods are placed in when one places orders to be delivered out? This disappointed me and have changed my initial ratings for Buka.

Awesome food! Great price (best value for money compared to the other places visited in Accra so far ➡ the portion of food are more than sufficient) Nice setting. The only downside was that it seems that when we went there, they had only one waiter-doing-it-available.

  • 4/5 Alan G. 2 years ago on Google
I love the variety on the menu at this restaurant, Ghanaian and 9ja dishes, it's a nice environment to eat, drink and relax and ideally placed just off Oxford Street to drop by while shopping.

  • 3/5 Joscelyne A. 2 years ago on Google
They didn't have my original order and the goat in the goat soup I ordered next...let's just say I've had juicier, tender goat meat elsewhere. I struggled with it and eventually gave up. The soup didn't taste fresh and was lukewarm. The soap in their dispenser in the restroom was out. Thank God I always carry sanitizer on me. My second dish was better. Egusi stew with boiled yam. And it took forever for me to get my orders. My mates were already on their main dish and I was just starting on my first. Frustrated AF

Buka! I had an amazing experience here. I just loved the ambience, the service and the great food. The waiters were really nice and courteous. The foods served were very delicious I enjoyed every single bite. The only problem I got was that my reservation was not noted. I had to look for a table but that wasn’t tedious. I Will 💯 recommend.

This is a nice restaurant that caters to a host of Nigerian dishes that is well served and presented. Unfortunately they get on 3 stars as the soups like the required taste, the swallows are not all great, some are well made, others not so much, the ewedu wasnt fine but the egusi tasted lovely. The prices are fair all things considered and the settings and ambience is lovely. Their service could do with a lot of improvement though but in all its worth a visit.

  • 3/5 Mide A. 1 year ago on Google
Starting with the aesthetics, it actually had good aesthetic, the arrangements were okay, the design them around the restaurant was good too, there were also full length mirrors! To the food, I tried Banku with Okro for the first time and I would say it wasn’t a bad trial for a first meal. Service, it was a bit below average because there weren’t enough staffs to attend to everyone on time, but the guy who attended to us was pretty welcoming. Overall, my experience at Buka wasn’t a bad one and it’s a place I would go back to and definitely go with friends and family.

I loved this restaurant! The atmosphere was cool and relaxed with nice decor. We sat in the air conditioned room and the service was fast. We started off with two delicious coctails from their menu. Then we had dishes from the main menu which were very nice.

Visited here via a recommendation and it did not disappointment. My meal was very good and was more impressed the way my yam was sliced up. Meal overall was good. The environment was neat and tidy and noise level was good. The waiters were very good just a couple times my drink was forgotten but still a good service. Will visit next time I am in town.

Best place for proper Ghanaian food. But if you want Waakye (pronounced as waatche), you have to be there before 3pm. Ambience was great, service was swift too.. best to order starter while the main dish is being prepared…

beautiful place. good customer service. I don't recommend coconut water, it had no taste. the jollof rice apparently was one of the best in the area but it was totally normal, nothing special. the kelewele and the barbecue chicken wings were delicious. he also adds 15% of taxes which I find makes no sense

Service was on friendly and on time. The food was tasty and we got more to go. The manager was nice when he came to check in on our table - had a random discussion on when/if the restaurant would consider taking contactless. Currently they don’t.)
