I won’t be coming back to this place. They gave yellow rice with vegetables and was telling me it was coconut rice. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt and tasted the rice and like I said, it’s yellow rice. If you was to google coconut right, you’ll never find this. The stew beef was way over cooked. Dried tough beef. Not worth it.

When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and we sat at the bar. The place was dimly lit and comfortable. We were serviced by a nice bartender and she made our rum punch so good. For my meal I got the chicken jollof rice and it was so good and filling! The DJ came and we danced the night away. I had a good experience!

There is no way an upstanding Nigerian is running this circus! If your offering jollof rice...and I ORDERED jollof rice. Why am I receiving WHITE rice???? Please make it make sense. Abomination. The manager is trash, how are you running an establishment, and are NO WHERE to be found! I called to ask about my order, mind you i work at a hospital im a specialist You're, I don't have time to be running back and forth! Get the order right the first time,or take it off the menu! * this is what you call FALSE ADVERTISING* aka 419! You're better off ordering from other Naija restaurants (irvington, newark, and east orange! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY at this place! As a nigerian, I am disappointed. Goat meat barely any flavor, and 22.00+ for food, WASNT WORTH IT! This is oyinbo food period, NOT Authentic Najia food! They lied Ooo! Do better!

The food was really disgusting. Basically we left everything behind. Please do not even get goat. There's literally no meat at all, just hard, non eatable skin with fat. I'm posting a picture so you can see I left almost everything. All I could eat was the rice because I was starving. The okra dish. I can not even describe that traumatic experience. Just look at the picture.

There’s no way this restaurant is owned by a Nigerian, just no way and if it is SHAME on you SHAME ON YOU!!!! How can you be so wicked to sell disgusting poor quality food to people. I’ll be reporting this business to the better business bureau. Immediately I opened the container of food, my heart dropped, it looked so disgusting, smelled so bad and tasted like sewage. I’m not being over dramatic. I was traumatized by everything, I can’t even explain it. It’s not Nigerian food, not made by a Nigerian, because there’s just no way. What kind of human beings are these people. It’s obvious they are only in business to make money and profit, not giving a care in the world the kind of food they give people to eat. Food is not even good enough for animals, belongs in the gutter!! The owner and cooks, you people are very sick and your mindset… I don’t even know the kind of mindset you have to serve people gutter food. Shame on YOU!! And don’t even comment under my post unless you’re shameless, nothing you can say! No excuse!! First picture I uploaded is the Edikang Ikong $25 and last picture is Bitter Leaf Soup $25.

This place is a prime example of greediness. There prices does not reflect the service , the food, the quantity, the location, the taste. The prices for their plates are mediocre night club or not . A plate of rice and a dish of egusi should not be $25. Priced the same. Staff has no training of workflow. Just very barbaric. I would not support this until a reality check is performed in this whole place.

Food was disgusting! This place needs to be shut down it’s not a real restaurant kitchen is disgusting! they lie and say they have certain foods and give you something else claiming it’s something else. Food taste very old very salty. Give you a very small portion and they over charge you. First and last time going to this place I should’ve read the reviews before coming to this place. Save your time and money!

I wish they would stop advertising this place as a Nigerian restaurant because it's not. It's owned by a Cameroonian and the quality and taste of the food is subpar compared to real Nigerian food. The food is tasteless and overpriced. Worst Jollof rice I ever had and the Edikakong was not impressive either. In addition, the garri they gave my partner was spoiled. They don't even check the food before they give it to the customers. The customer service is horrible. Extremely long wait times for food and the workers become rude when you question them. The owner/manager is just as bad. He can't explain why the service is so poor and lies about when your food will be ready. He won't even discount the food for your inconvenience like most reasonable customer friendly managers do. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all cost! If you want true authentic Nigerian food with good customer service go to Olaide's Kitchen in Parlin.

I ordered spicy snails, fried yams, goat meat pepper soup and pounded yam and I received an entire stale meal!!! Can you imagine everything cost $90 and I was not able to eat it. I even called to see if it can resolved and they were absolutely rude. They deserve zero stars and they just need to sell liquor.

I ordered the goat pepper soup and the jelliof rice w/chicken., the food had flavor.. The soup was only meat and broth and it was extremely over priced. It seems like they use the pandemic to skyrocket the prices but the portion is lacking. The soup was worth no more than $10. However they are charging $20 for the soup. The food itself was flavorful. However, I probably won’t be back due to their over pricing and lack of portions to compliment.

The portion was small. As you can see in the photo that’s how we received it. Three oxtails and a small amount Egusi soup and can you imagine everything in the photo was $70!?? Aside from the small portion and it being overpriced, I could honestly say that the food was really good. I probably won’t order here again unless they change their portion sizes cause this isn’t it… at all. Btw: Customer service was 10/10

My second nasty experience here, I ordered coconut rice they served something different and still claim it is coconut rice, no aroma and taste of coconut. When I complained about the food, they said home made food is different from restaurant food. For God sake, I have ordered Coconut rice in Restaurant before in Nigeria and it was not greenish n taste like fried rice. I complained to the manager and she said that's the way they made their food, we are in diaspora and we patronize African Restaurant to have a taste of the food we left behind. They even forgot to put cutlery when they serve the food. To give them a benefit of a doubt, I ordered Fried Rice to compare with the coconut rice, I ended up wasting my money. If you have high taste for food don't expect too much from this restaurant. That's my personal experience, their jollof rice is okay.

Food always prepared to order. Well seasoned. Very diverse menu. Downside is that service is slow Upside is that it’s worth the wait If you’re new to African foods, this is a very good place to start. Try the snapper. You won’t be disappointed.

I frankly believe this restaurant should stop making peppersoup for clients OR at least learn how to make it. Who serves whitish peppersoup filled with mostly nutmeg? The jellof rice had no taste. Also, the wait time was long and the food was just a disappointment

I love this place. It plays afro beat music how I like. They serve african dishes like jollof rice. Food, impeccable! As you can see, I bought two dishes. I ate one and took the other one home for lunch the next day. The drink was also tasty. I didn't get a chance to stay for the party later on in the night but I am sure everyone had a great time. Look forward to going back for my birthday

I go to Abuja all the time and it’s bearable because the DJ knows how to keep the crowd going and the food is good but this time was the worst! The bartenders have horrible service and honestly have no concept of customer service. Coming from someone with past service experience it’s an understatement that common sense is lacking. Next time I’ll make sure to ask a guy to buy my drink then maybe I’ll get attention when I order a drink.

Whoever answers your phones is rude. She answered, started my order, then kept me waiting on hold for a few minutes while flirting with her manager or whatever. She then drops the call immediately after. When I called back she was petty enough to refuse to tell me the price of what I want without “giving my name”?! Why tf would I have to give my name to know how much a plate of food costs? Avoid before they spit in your food.

This restaurant actually should get a 0-star! Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant at all cost!!!! You might get there hungry but you will definitely leave extremely hungry, irritated, angry and disappointed. My friends and I (Party of 6) visited this restaurant from Maryland after a soccer game. We placed our order at 9:18pm exactly and our food did not start coming out until 11:00pm for only 5 of us. Our server then disappeared and we couldn’t follow up on the outstanding food. We contemplated walking out as we couldn’t even enjoy the cold and tasteless food. However we paid and left extremely disappointed and still hungry. Visit at your own risk and expense when you’re not hungry and have nothing to do! You’ve been warned!!!!

Believe reviews when you read them. I ordered 3 items through Ubereat at Abuja and only two was delivered. I called to let them know and I was told I get a call back but no response so I called back next day and I was left on hold and I could hear their whole conversation about how I should go figure it out (customer service). When I called back they lady was so rude and nasty and hung up on me before telling me to go call Ubereats for refunds, when if Abuja had done their job and packed the 3 food I ordered instead of two. The other option they gave me was to drive down (20mins) to come get my $22. Just be careful cos if you order by delivery your food won’t be complete. Customer service is 0. Never ever will I order here.

Highly upset at the way we were treated. The food was great, no complaints about that, but security was sent to intimidate us because I guess my associate and I were there too long. First of all the food took forever to be served, I had to remind the waitress to serve us our drinks, then she neglected to check on us after we finished the meal to see if we were ready for the bill. My associate traveled an hour and a half from south Jersey for us to discuss business. He is a former UN employee and was preparing to leave on a 6 month mission for another international organization. I'm so glad he did not notice the security guard who took the chair from our table in an effort to make us feel unwelcome. I have been to Abuja multiple times for meals and for the club hours and I have never been disappointed with their service until yesterday.

Food was horrible, my date and I barely touched it. I love international food and will actually seek out ethnic restaurants but this was not good at all. Not only was the food actively bad, it took around 40 minutes to come out and we were the only ones there getting food, I could not image what it would be like busy. The atmosphere was also bad. It couldn't decide whether it was a bar, club, or a fine dining restaurant. The music was blaring and this was at 5pm. Service was not great but the waitress was nice enough but she was staring at her phone most of the time. Would never come here again

Today was my 1st visit at this restaurant and let's just say it would be my last. The food was great. I recommend everything I ate: the Goat pepper soup, the whole snapper, jollof rice, and egusi with pounded yam. I didn't realize this place was also a nightclub. I really like the ambience. It's a great place for a date.

We came from out of town for a game in New Jersey and we decided to visit this restaurant! Horrible service, we had to wait more than 2 hours for our food! And when the food finally came out, it was absolute TRASH. The waitress didn’t attend to us. The manager was even seen smoking outside. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to.. we ended up not eating our food and walked out! Please don’t waste your time going to this restaurant! Go somewhere else!

The food is very good, however I waited almost 2 hours for my dinner, when I watched folks who came in behind me get there dinner before me. I ordered salmon, veggies and coconut rice, after about 40 min, the owner son came over to tell me the rice wouldn't be ready for another hour (( blank stare))...I was annoyed, however I decided to wait because I was hungry and I like the atmosphere. The owner son sat next to me and apologize and said we will cover your bill, I said thank you. My cousin showed up and long story short of it , I didn't get my food for three hours. When I got my bill the dinner was on it, owner son disappeared and the bartender said they want you to pay it, I said no worries , I WON'T BE RETURNING BACK HERE, BECAUSE THIS IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. She said give me $20 and that'll cover it I said ok..I'm a regular customer there and even if I wasn't, that treatment was unacceptable ... SAMMY THE OWNER SHOULD'VE COME OVER AND ADDRESSED THE SITUATION!!!!!!

The red snapper and jollof rice is seasoned to perfection. I visit often the flavor has been consistent over the last two years. However, the last two times I went the waitress got my order wrong, leaving me to drive back to the restaurant which is 30 minutes away from me. Word of advice always check my food before leaving the restaurant.

The porridge was really good and my friends had tons of fun. We had our Alumni meetup here and we drove all the way from New York cause we’ve heard lots of great things about this Abuja place. The food was okay. The setup is more like a bar/night club. I wouldn't recommend going to eat there. The music is so loud, you can barely hold conversations without whispering directly into the ears, Even the lighting is that of a club like i said earlier. Its more like a place you go hang out, have drinks and light snacks if you miss the naija bar nightlife. If not just order takeouts.

Abuja, an African cuisine restaurant, delivers a culinary journey that is truly worth the wait. The vibrant flavors and authentic dishes make it a standout choice for those seeking a taste of Africa. However, be prepared for potential delays as the wait for takeout can exceed an hour. To maximize your experience, it’s advisable to order ahead and savor the exceptional flavors without the lengthy wait. Despite the potential wait time, Abuja’s delicious and culturally rich offerings make it a must-try for anyone craving an authentic African dining experience.
