What an amazing experience. After marble I am going to have to go back to all my previous reviews and reassess them. It's really that good. Amazing food and generous portions which you don't normally get from designer restaurants. Got to meet David which was a special treat. Enjoyed seeing him in the kitchen checking plates before they go out. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Great experience at Marble. The service was exceptional with the staff being very attentive and constantly checking up on you. The prawn starter and oysters were phenomenal, and cocktails were great as well. The mains is where they fell short for me. The chicken was good, nothing special though. However, the duck was probably the most disappointing duck dish I've ever had. It's a good concept but poorly executed. It was seasoned with basic salt and pepper, with random grilled fruits and vegetables around it, and just average. They should either remove it from the menu or revise the dish, especially with a price over R300. I've always wanted to experience Marble, but I feel like their sister restaurant Saint is far better from a main dish perspective.

The food was absolutely delicious and they definitely pay a lot of attention to detail in terms of presentation. A little noisier than expected but an overall great vibe. Service was on point. Will definitely recommend it.

Marble Restaurant in Johannesburg was an absolute delight. Wonderful ambiance and intimate experience. Low light candles/lighting. Wine cellars aligned the wall of some of South Africa and international best wines. marble overlooks the city and provides an amazing view. The pictures on Google do not do this restaurant any justice. Service from the time you exit the car to the elevator on up and to the time you leave this establishment; you'll be treated like royalty. Our waitress was extremely polite, patient, and caring through the time of us dining here. If I want an elevated fine dining experience; this is the place. However, I will say the fish was a tad bit overcooked for the price you pay, but that truly was my only complaint. All the other food was delicious, reasonable priced for fine dining and fulfilling. If you're visiting or living here and want to show out for a night, I would highly recommend Marble.

The restaurant was perfect for the occasion of my 31st and both the Food and Drinks did not disappoint. The cheese cake deserves an entire review on its own that’s how amazing it was. We booked a table for three for a lunch. the restaurant is hard to find (just a small stone outside of an elevater with the name marble) - BUT a super friendly man with a yellow umbrella will show you there :) the inside of the restaurant is incredible beautiful. never saw this kind of nice toilets honestly. the food was excellent (i had the 200g beef fillet). the wine menu is stunning! five star. and hope to be back soon

I was surprised by my partner who had reserved a table for us. Oh my word I'm telling you out of all the places I've been this one is for the books! Absolutely amazing. I love the vibe. The music is decent. The scenery is breath taking. The waiters are so respectful and help you at any stage even if it's not your waiter. The tables are clean and the setup is beautiful. The menu is straight to the point and not complicated. We were served first with bread and butternut then we decided to go straight into the mains! I would have liked to meet Chef Higgs, I saw him in passing but didn't get the opportunity to express my gratitude for such a well thought out menu, and to also inquire if her made the decision for the bar menu as well. My drinks were excellent. The fennel on which my duck rested, accompanied by beetroot, were the perfect contrasts of flavor and texture. I felt like the critic from the children's movie Ratatouille.... I was taken to a place long forgotten, or maybe never before seen! Service, like having your needs met before you can request. Your seat being gently pulled away as you raise or pushed under you each time you leave or arrive. My most genuine surprise, the restrooms are completely private and individual.... Top notch restaurant in Joburg. According to me it comes to my list before proud Mary and Mama samba. As we sat we were served with bread and butternut puree. Very flavorful. The beat root starter was perfectly balanced. Also, the main course (sea bass and risotto) we had was delicious and full of flavors. The only disappointing thing was dessert as an ice sandwich with bread was a bad idea. It could have been better with a thin waffle biscuit. The blueberry dessert was not that good. Came here for dinner on our last night in South Africa, for my husband’s birthday. The service was great and we especially appreciated the Manager coming around to chat to us as we were seated at the chefs table, as well as the birthday treat. The restaurant was very busy. Highly recommend booking in advance and going for a drink beforehand to take in the views. The food was good however we found the steak lacked a bit of flavour. Perhaps coming from Australia we have higher expectations!

From 5 stars to 3 stars. Came here for the first time in 2018 after it first opened and it was an amazing experience... hence the 5 stars. I feel as though Marble has just become another place to be "seen" in the North like Aurum. I didnt enjoy feeling rushed while having dinner and constantly being reminded that the kitchen closes at 8. I understand we live in strange times but that's hardly my issue when I arrived for my reservation on time only to be seated 30 Min later. The food was simply "okay". Nothing amazing and nothing to blow my hair back. It all tasted somewhat same same. Presentation of the food was great but I think some attention to detail lacking in service. When I made the reservation I specified it was for a birthday which was completely forgotten until I mentioned it while paying the bill... At which point there was then a birthday surprise. Seating was pretty close to other tables which gave me the impression that the restaurant cares more about turning tables than dining experiences. Not sure I will be back for another while.

Great food, and lively atmosphere. Went on a Wednesday night around 7pm and the place was packed. I enjoyed a steak with bone marrow sauce - a first for me. I appreciate the chef's modern menu items. Note that the place was noisy making it a little hard to have a conversation. A steak dinner, shared salad, red wine, and tip will set you back about 1,200Rand (~$80 USD) - kind of pricey.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The service from the start was just excellent. We had several staff members wishing us a happy anniversary. It was most appreciated. The cocktails were delicious. The barman also made something up for us which was amazing. Clearly showcasing the skill behind the bar. We immensely enjoyed the food. There was clear attention to detail. It was clearly a fine dining experience but with hearty portions. The only disappointment was dessert. The ice cream sandwiches were very difficult to eat , and the crunchie was suppose to have a salt element to it , but this just became salty after a few bites. The desserts were definitely not the same attention to detail as the starters and mains. Despite our dessert experience, we are definitely going back. The service alone was enough for to decide to visit again. The staff went out of their way to make our night special. I highly recommend this place. We did see the owner walking around and we were quite excited to see celebrity chef from MKR. Also , do take an Uber. Parking is a pain in Rosebank.

Wonderful experience. We had a private room for a birthday party last night and the service will make you feel like royalty. Big shout out to Joe for always keeping our glasses full. The food is melt in the mouth yumness. Enjoy the array of excellent mains but definitely save space for dessert. The Lemon dessert is the perfect closing act of the meal. The coconut custard, pineapple and pops of rosemary refreshes the palette after a rich, decent main course. My recommendation for the cost conscious is to close the prices with a napkin and enjoy yourself. Spoil yourself. The view of the sunset faces Northcliff hill and is absolutely stunning. The decor is tasteful minus the faux molded ceiling cornishes.

I visited the Japanese restaurant Kanpai. Beautiful setup with a tiered floor plan. Tranquil decor and mesmerizing water features. The food was amazing. Although we missed out on having their famous Japanese beer due to seasonal demand. The LOQdown family enjoyed ourselves after a day of recreation for the end of year function.

We came to marble for dinner on a Sunday evening. Beautiful view of twinkling city lights. The food was absolutely first class. Substantial portions. We had a modern take on an avocado Ritz and a salmon gravlax starter. Both were fresh and delicious. For our main courses we ordered the pork belly and the ribeye steak, both of which were cooked to perfection and bursting with delicious flavors. Magnificently presented, too. As a fine-dining restaurant, this is a superb offering. Satisfactory value for money. The only thing that was a slight letdown was a lack of energy and attention from the waiting staff. Unfortunately this is generally my experience at South African restaurants. There seems to be a lack of training and insight when it comes to the art of being a waiter. But otherwise, this is an excellent choice, and one to be repeated frequently in future.

Three foodies from Norway had booked a table at Marble many months ago expecting great food. I am sorry but the meal at Marble was such a downer to us. The staff was frienly, but you dont book a table at a great restaurant to experience friendly staff, it should be all about the food. And the food at Marble did not deliver at all. The starter, octopussy, was ok, it lacked finesse and the portion was to big. I ordered the risotto and every Italian grandmother in the world would tear their hair of their skull. The dish had nothing to do with the Italian dish, I sent it back. My friends ordered the crayfish, the fish was ok, but the rest of the plate had no taste what so ever. The dish was so blend.

It's an impressive looking place and you are greeted with the pizzazz of the genre. Nice table, nothing outstanding, view good, nothing outstanding, service very good and solid but again nothing outstanding. Now to the food. We had a meat platter, again very good but just not outstanding. I say this because at this price point, some may expect everything to be astonishing and it does not quite hit that height. Would we go again, probably, overall a very good experience but sort of forgettable. So would I recommend, yes definitely but don't go there with sky high expectations.

What an awesome restaurant. A little expensive by Johannesburg standards, but well worth it. From being greeted graciously at the door, to the knowledgeable sommelier, the fascinating open plan kitchen, the glamorous bar, pretty view, excellent service and not forgetting the delicious food and wine, the whole experience was amazing. I can't wait to go back.

Really Beautiful place! Clean and upmarket, Service was good Size portions were good I have to be honest my Rib-eye was tasteless, the sauce tasted like nothing, I had to add salt and I don't like the sweet chips. My son enjoyed his meal. And we had a stunning view so I give it a 5/10

Nice venue, but food leaves a lot to be desired. Tried the fired fish platter for 2... its better than the meat platter for 2.. But both are not as tasty as a similar platter you would get for far cheaper in a normal family restaurant like spur. The dessert is slightly better.

I simply had the best time at Marble. The staff understand that they are selling a lifestyle and not giving you a plate. They well coordinated and the venue a level up of sophistication. The best part is ofcourse the food, vibe and hearing people laugh all around. What an amazing experience.

Service not great, food was ok, and setting/venue very upmarket. Believe that for the price you are paying you should have an attentive waiter and not have to look for them when wanting dessert, coffees or when it comes to paying the bill. Not blown away at all!

Lovely set-up and the food was divine. However we were chased away from the table we were sitting and comfortable in. Just after you pay, You will be told that the table needed to be used whereas the restaurant was empty and we planning to have supper. It was a working meeting.

It was a 21st birthday celebration in level 3 lockdown. Full Covid safety protocols and no Champagne. But it was gorgeous. They had a nice variety of virgin cocktails to get us started. We ordered a variety of starters and as we passed and shared plates and forks loaded with scrumtios bites we all agreed that all the dishes were divine. Top favourites were the octopus and the tuna. Mains were spectacular as well and we are hard pressed to choose our favourite. I loved the Game and the Salmon were a close second. We all had an elegant sufficiency by the time desrts came around and the Ice cream sandwich were the favourite. The serving staff is attentive and efficient and the views spectacular. An evening we will remember!

I can sum it up in just a few words no need to over express oneself. Marble is definitely one of the best if not the best restaurant in South Africa.A quality dining experience is what you pay for and it is exactly what you get.

Everything about this place screams class! The food and drinks are out of this world. My personal favorite is to sit at the bar at the kitchen as you get to see the chefs in action and this is an art on its own as its all done very quietly. If you want to treat yourself then Marble is the place to do it.

Great night out with my daughter. A real treat at the "chef's table" watching all the chefs prepping every dish. Great experience and very good service.

The reserved sitting of a table was not honoured, and I was made to wait until I requested to be sitted, reservations are to be effectuated. The place is very busy and most probably always packed, this is not an excuse-especially for fine dining supposedly-to having stained tables. The service was good. The tables were a bit too close to each other for my liking and considering the circumstances and the reputation Marble state to uphold, unbecoming. And funny but really concerning is that the cutlery is actually quite horrible, very blunt knifes, never thought I'd have a problem with cutlery in my life until Marble said hold my beer :). The food was not as exciting as one would expect. Really it was not the greatest food I've had, the produce used to make the dishes is really fresh from veggies to the meat, commandable. The details of the restaurant are great.

I visited on a busy evening and the staff still managed to attend to our table at regular intervals. The menu features a lot of beef based dishes so it would probably be a meat-lovers' dream. The food was decent, however, I'd need to visit the establishment a few more times and try out more items in their menu to make a solid conclusion regarding their food. The red wine we had was lovely.

Overall, Marble offered an unforgettable dining experience. The generous portions and exquisite food challenged my preconceived notions of designer restaurants. Meeting David in the kitchen was a special highlight, adding a personal touch to the evening. Having indulged at Marble, I can confidently say that it exceeds expectations. From the impeccable service to the delectable food and drinks, every aspect of the restaurant exudes excellence. The cheesecake alone deserves praise, setting a new standard for dessert indulgence. I eagerly anticipate my next visit.
