Mata Bhutandevi is MATA HIDAMBA, wife of Bhim (one of Pandav) and mother of Ghatochkach. It is believed that Hetauda is named after Mata Hidamba. People also believe that Mata Bhutandevi is a form of Mata Durga. We visited there and worshiped a few days back. The temple area is well managed and clean. People are nice and friendly.

Situated at Butan Devi Road-10 in Hetauda, the temple of Butan Devi is not only famous in Hetauda but all over Nepal. The temple is built is perfect Vastu principal and it is believed that worshipping the goddess helps one to get victory over serious troubles, problems and fear. Butan Devi actually is the form of goddess Durga who killed the great demon Mahishasura because of which she is also known by the name of Mahishasura Mardini.

Bhutan Devi Temple is a famous Shakti Pith located in Hetauda Sub-metropolis. According to legend, during the Mahabharata period, when the five Pandavas were living in exile, there was a battle between the Pandavas and Hidambasura.
