30 rm for a foreign adult. The cruise lasts about 45 minutes. At first I was bummed about my seat location but then the worker told me I can come stand with him at the back. The views were so much better from there. I was able to take so many videos as you can see 😁. I would recommend to take the cruise after dark so you can see all the pretty lights too. You can see the murals too but obviously not as clearly as you would in a daylight. You don’t need to buy ticket in advance, you can just walk to this place and buy walk in ticket. Then you line up for the boat. Watch the sunset by the river and come to the cruise boat line at 7 pm.

Finally, the Melaka River today is 'coming back to life' like the Southeast Asian version of Venice after the covid 19 pandemic in 2020 till 2022. The premise along the Melaka River is an attraction for tourism in Melaka and a catalyst for many businesses and business opportunities to exist today. This includes a service down the Melaka River by boat which is one of the icons for interesting activities in Melaka that you can experience for yourself. OPERATING HOURS DAILY - 9:00AM TO 11:00PM Try it!

A really nice and eye opening experience. It gives you a glimpse of the importance of the Melaka river in the past especially how people use it for travel and trade. Suggest to go early in the morning instead of night if you want to see things more clearly and better visual and perception. The ticket counter is located behind the Custom museum and Flora de Mar along the river. The boats are quite clean, well kept and stable. The staffs are really good. The ride has narration for each location it passes by.

Strolling the river path you will discover some amazing street art. As you hike north along the river the crowds disappear but some quaint little shops with interesting people can lure you in with their friendliness. Of course, a necessity is trying one the favorite Malasian desserts Cendol. Sit in one of the shaded cafes and cool off from the blazing tropical sun and humidity.. try it with some Durian!

The river itself is pretty especially at night! Definitely a perfect photo spot! But I personally don’t really recommend to ride the boat or the cruise because it’s not worth it. It costs RM30 for foreigners and RM20 for Malaysians. If you still wish to ride the boat, I recommend to go at night because it’s much prettier with all the pretty lights! I went in the afternoon and it was pretty hot and I didn’t feel there was anything super unique along the way.

Riverside with mirror like river during morning walk. Recommended to explore before 8AM as the weather is still cool and the river is calm to have mirror like surface.

One of the best way to have a glimpse of Melaka city is by taking a Melaka River Cruise along Malacca river that run through the heart of the town. Walk along the riverside to the jetty port behind Muzium samudera (Flor de La Mar). Hop on the boat, let the cool breeze hit your face while the eyes witness the colorful artistic design on the old town wall Tips: Evening time before sundown would be ideal for the boat ride. Based on my experience with Melaka River Cruise at night. Very beautiful night illuminations along the river. Informations on the places of interest along the cruise is clear and easily understood. Might get a little bit of water spray especially on the very front seat of the boat. Overall very satisfied and highly recommended for visitors to Melaka just to take in the views and relax after a long day of walking around town.

I recommend night time cruisem. I can't decide if it's really worth it. It's a 30 minute ride. If you wanna see the riverside attractions all at once without breaking a sweat, If you like riding on a ferry and going under bridges, then yeah sure, 100% go for it. The tour is very basic, you can see everything on tour if you just walk along the river. It will be a long walk, but it's an option if you don't have 30 rm to spare or if you are out for a jog anyway. You won't miss anything from the tour if you stay on land. You also get to spend more time on riverside attractions this way. You probably will spend a few hours this way though.

The cruise on boat thought the canal definitely should be included in your list of activities once you’re in Melaka. The cruise itself takes 45 min one way, so total is 1 hour 30 min both ways. The route runs along many bars and colorful buildings, best way to choose cafe or bar where you want to spend rest of the day 😉

The Melaka River Cruise offers a captivating voyage through the heart of this historic city, providing a front-row seat to its cultural tapestry. The boat glides along the river, revealing a panoramic view of Melaka's architectural gems, from ancient temples to vibrant murals. As the sun sets, the city lights up, creating a magical atmosphere. The reflections on the water add an extra layer of charm to the journey. The cruise not only showcases Melaka's rich history but also offers a tranquil escape from the bustling streets. The boat guides, with their engaging commentary, provide valuable insights, turning the cruise into an educational and immersive experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking a leisurely way to explore Melaka, the River Cruise is an enchanting adventure that beautifully captures the essence of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Quite nice as a night activity. Ticket bit costly but as the whole trip is around 30-40mins so still ok. The boats is clean and spacious. Only one thing is they didn't have much clear signage for the place for boarding and I met others also feeling confuse about where to get on the boat. But overall its a good experience.

Costs 30 for adult foreigner. Kind of nice to go at night but was not as good as I was hoping. There is limited info broadcast over the speaker going upriver (and music coming back) but the it's hard to make out what they're saying. You cruise rather fast so it's not as peaceful as it could be. I was also hoping they would cruise to the big waterfront mosque but they didn't. Seems like it would be an easy/worthwhile addition. The lights of the city just weren't that spectacular. Felt like would be nicer to walk the riverside instead.

Recommended to go at night and on weekdays. Night time is the best to enjoy the colourful lighting on the historic buildings along the cruise. As expected, a lot less people during weekdays, almost no wait. The price of RM25 for adults, RM15 for children is tolerable given the experience. The whole tour takes about 30 minutes.

Melaka River Cruise is located near A Famosa at Malacca Town. The entrance are easily to spot, find the big replica ship called Orekhor (Muzium Samudera) Quiet a que especially when weekend, and have 2 sceneries, night sight and day sight. When taking the night sight all the lamp and led are mesmerizing. Expect some smell and some splashing especially when sitting front row. Pricing for mykad holder is RM25. Children 2 years - 12 years are RM15. (See provided picture) Recommended to try for sight seeing.

An over priced tourist trap. Avoid it if you can. The cruise itself is quite decent but the high ticket price is a rip off. You're better off with a riverbank walk instead of a river cruise.

40 minutes return trip cruise explained the melaka rivers site nearby. Around Rm15-25/pax. Recommended to ride from Quayside jetty as nearby to centre of attraction instead Taman Rempah.

Enjoyable river cruise for short trip vacation. Full with colourful view all along the river. The staff also very helpful if anyone using wheelchair want to on board. Recommended for those want to gain new experience cruise along the way. Price is $$. Just the waiting line up is something quite long depends in situation. Overall, thumbs up

Although not as grand as other river cruises, this is a must do when in Malacca. I strongly recommend coming in the evening just after sunset when it’s not hot and the views are more spectacular. There will be automated commentary during the cruise in both Malay & English language.

Nice river cruise, there's audio recording played that explains what you see on left/right. Better go at night for beautiful lights. Took >20mins per cruise, it will go around one time and repeat. Wished there were more attractions on the riverside, there's one side with unfilled ads space. Price is RM25 per person for Malaysia adult

Another nice place to visit. I highly recommend to go here at late evening to night because the view is better and less hot. People said the river got smelly, but thank god I didnt smell it.

There's not much to see during the 45-minute cruise in the daytime. I can not properly hear the narration/recorded speaker, so I missed a few things. Though this is a nice way to just chill and take a break from walking.

Simply, a must try experience when you are in Malacca. They say it's better at night. Maybe, but you get to see the real thing during the day and the breeze.. It's wonderful

Messy queue situation, with limited assistance available and many big families rushing to get into the queue. Ride was okay, parts of the river had a bad smell but overall pleasant especially at night. Good for an overview of the melaka city and enjoying night breeze, seeing the night party crowd along the river.

Nice cooling drive along the Melaka river. Worth visiting, but do it both in daylight as well as in the evening. Pit-stop ticket recommended, when you can hop off and on on your request.

I attended the evening river cruise, and it was a delightful experience. Cruising along the Malacca River for over ten minutes, the shoreline lights were incredibly beautiful. Observing relaxed tourists enjoying themselves with food and drinks along the riverbank was a highlight. Highly recommended!

Went on July 2023, the price was RM25 per head and show your I/C. At 5/6pm - 7pm, the queue was short so no need to wait for long and it's a convenient time before you walk to Jonker Street. Can just walk in.

Nice cruise along the river. It'll take around 35-40 minutes to go to Taman Rempah and back to the starting jetty. Throughout the cruise, there will be a recorded audio briefing what we will be seeing along the river banks. Quite pricey tho, the ticket price is RM25/adult (citizen).
