Pasar Besar Melaka

Wet market

👍 Clean & neat especially in the early hours of the morning. Easy parking. The vendors are all helpful. Tried the roti canai stall at the far end. Really nice & garing. Would be better if served with curry as only have dalcha. Good experience as first visit. People often mention market, vegetables, fresh, Nasi, parking, stalls, chicken,

I never expect such a clean public/ government built wet market in Malaysia. Although this is a temporary market, I hope the upcoming market should be like this. The market itself is big and have many choices as expected from a market. Well done. This will not a shame to foreign tourist wanting to visit local wet market.

A wet market is a wet market. Especially where the seafood are sold. Its interesting to browse the stalls. But be prepared for the smells too. Here you can find meats from beef, mutton, to chicken and more. Vegetable stalls selling a variety of local vegetables to Ulam to imported vegetables. There are sundry stalls selling dried food, canned food, fried food, staples from onions, potatoes to kerisik, spice etc. There are also a row of food stalls where one can have breakfast. Parking is adequate RM1.00 per entry. It is advisable to bring a trolley along as one can get carried away shopping. ( so much to see and buy )😂💦 It is a bit of a distance to walk if one is elderly so proper shoes are recommended if you don't want your feet wet. (Fish and chicken section) Today we bought swimmer crabs ( check out the photo of my dish cooked for lunch. Lemak Kepiting 🦀with Pumpkin, 🎃Coconut flesh. 🥥😝😝😝 #wetmarket #fresh #food #sundries #meat #poultry #seafood #vegetables #hawker By @crazykookycook

Varieties of good Malacca Malay breakfast option here...and at reasonable price too. I usually would go with satay perut, mee goreng (pedas Melaka style !) and asam pedas daging tetel..too many to mention here. Also since its pasar besar you can easily look for other wet and dry household stuff to buy

Best wet market in Melaka! Lots of vendors and huge variety. Visited Melaka for 2 weeks and went once a week. Haven't found anything as good in Negros Oriental, Philippines where I am currently.

A lot of fresh stuff from seafood to vegetables to dried cooking materials are available here and the prices are so much cheaper. Also have Malay and Chinese food stores for breakfast and brunch.

Love it. We used to go there every time we been to Melaka. All because of Nasi Gunting. Pardon me. I never remember to snap any photos there. Both the owner and the son are wearing high songkok. You can see them from far away. We can choose to sit anywhere and order the foods. I will definitely be coming again during next visit.

Convenient temporary location for Malacca wet market with ample parking spaces centrally located within Malacca City. Permanent/original wet market is awaiting central modernisation developments within the vicinity of Melaka Sentral Public transport hub. Nevertheless, this wet market caters for all Malaysians and foreigners 👍 Parking is also a flat rate of MYR1 (USD 0.25) per entry all day long 🏆

The place is cleaned and well maintained. The entrance to the fish and vegetables stalls are crowed with boxes of goods. There are notices to keep the entrance walkway empty.Maybe the officer station there shoud walk the talk and give a strong advice to the traders to empty the walkway space .There ample parking lots .The prices of fishes and vegetables are reasonable. There open sinkey at the entrance for visitors to wash their hand.Maybe the cleanliness should be clean and the visitors should keep the place clean and hygience.

Melaka's central wet market. Quite messy and truly wet around the chicken and fish areas. Spreads through the vegetables section also. Overall, able to get our daily requirements for the kitchen.

Casually visit local market if you want to know of their culture. Parking space is huge. It's not simply wet market but they also have food court and shops selling daily necessities. I tried Nasi Gunting (must try!) & Satay for breakfast. Nasi Gunting is similar to Nasi Kakwok but theirs is beef and inner parts instead of chicken; served with chopped chillies, fresh cucumber, salted egg & sambal. Nasi Ayam store next to it also seems to be famous among locals.
