This is a fantastic place. If the sun is shining and you have the time you certainly want to spend some time here and even come back a few times to relax and enjoy. Singles, couples, school kids, musicians, tourists, everybody loves this place, and it is for free. In the morning it is quiet, late afternoon the sun gives it beautiful colors, in the evening with the lights it must also be nice. And the acoustic is great, so the musicians and dancers make it a lovely place.

I couldn't believe it when I saw with my own eyes that such a beautiful square existed. Although the scale is very large, the detail and completeness are unrivaled. Beautiful wall decorations that capture the characteristics of each city in Spain, and beautiful tiles and patterns that have been carefully designed from the floor to the street lights. I was able to see the height of splendor. If you come to Seville and go to Plaza de España, it's the same as not seeing anything. I highly recommend it to the maximum.

This is the prettiest plaza I've ever visited. It's a perfect place to people watch, enjoy street shows, or marvel at the architectural beauty. They even filmed part of Star Wars here because of its unique beauty. Aim to get to the second floor of the plaza to enjoy the sunset and overview of the plaza. Skip the boat rides, they're kit worth the wait.

This square is extraordinary. It's by far one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in my life. We were also lucky to have such an awesome sunny day, which enabled us to take these photos. It's mandatory to go there if you visit Seville.

Beautiful Plaza in Seville, Spain!!! Definitely a must visit! This place is very photogenic and every corner is just beautiful! It is free to enter. We came here in December and it was super HOT! Yes, Hot during winter. Not much to say about this place, but it is a recommended place to visit while you are in Seville. Let the pictures show you its beauty.

A must-see if you are in Sevilla! The plaza itself is huge and airy and the giant curved building that surrounds it is stunning. The light at all times of day is quite a sight to see, and the intricate details within the architecture are nice. Sitting by the fountain on a hot evening is a wonderful way to cool off a bit. Highly recommended!

This is a tough call but here is why this plaza should never receive more than four stars. #1.There is nothing there, as far as a tourist is concerned it's just an empty building. A very pretty, well maintained empty building, but an empty building. No vendors, no restaurants, no cafes, no bars. Just and empty building. Sure there are some government offices, but they don't exactly serve as tourist attractions. In my experience, there are not even any public bathrooms. #2, after 10-15 minutes it becomes boring since there is nothing to do except stare at the building and watch the flamenco dancer, and there is only one dancer at any one time (I've visited the plaza 3 times, so, granted that is a small sample size.) #3 the plaza itself, and I'm not talking about the arcades but the plaza, is like a frying pan, with not a speck of shade to be found. Other than that its great. A visual feast and a photographer's dream.

Incredible architecture absolutely stunning. A must must see if in Saville, don't miss out. It's absolutely huge with a type thing around around where you can hire rowing boats. Bridges to cross. Cheap souvenirs for sale. Entertainment for a donation. A big fountain in the middle. Horse are cart ride. Restrooms cost €0.60 you will need change in cash to use.

This is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. So much detail, so much thought in the construction. Wonderful! The Spirit of Andalusia. Everything is really thought out to the last detail. We also watched a flamenco show, so much passion and feelings - a must experience.

Beautiful Plaza and park that is stunningly picturesque. You could spend a few hours walking around taking pictures, relaxing or people watching. Made its game from Star Wars and the best part is that it’s free! Highly recommend as a must see in Seville. It will not disappoint

This is one of my favorite places in Seville. It is a must visit while you are in the city. You can visit it for free and every corner of the plaza gives you amazing angles for photos. What I liked the most was the flamenco show here. The people dancing are very dedicated and they make you feel the real flamenco emotion. Totally recommend it.

My favorite place in Seville, it’s definitely a must visit while you are in the city. You can visit it for free and every corner of the plaza gives you amazing angles for photos. The details and the bridges, along with the colors gives you a glimpse of the Andalusian spirit. I love that there is always a flamenco show here. The people dancing are very passionate and enjoy what they’re doing and they make you feel the real flamenco emotion. I could easily spend a full day here, watching flamenco, reading, chilling and eating some snacks. Totally recommend it!!!

The most famous square in Seville. It is inevitable not to visit it when passing through town. Magnificent place and large in size! Pleasant to walk there at the beginning and end of the day, as it is full of people during the day (Especially in summer 😵‍💫) For the more romantic, it‘s possible to take a canoe or horseback ride 🐦 And finally, for lovers of photography, whether novices or beginners, enjoy 📸

This is a must place to visit if you are in Seville. The architecture, the bridges, and the river that fliws though it is just magical. We have walked the top part, but we have also gone up the stairs to take the view from above. It is a free landmark , and it has also got the military historical museum housed there, which is free to visit. You can also hire boats to go round the river.

Super cool wide open plaza that is best served viewing at night to avoid crowds. One of our favorite attractions in Spain, the lights and colors of the plaza are hard to be matched. The stone-work of the plaza is super impressive, as are all the frescoes of regional Spanish history that are found asking the edges of the plaza. Best of all, admission here is free! There are row-boats available during the day. That is the only advantage that I can give checking this place out not during the night.

Amazingly beautiful. Try to be there at the earliest possible time as later it get hot and sometimes impossible to tolerate and also filled with tourists. The views and artworks are breathtaking. Take a picture or two of the and on the bridges. You could also go through the small canal with the boats but we did not do that as it was early and no one was there.

Such a beautiful place and the sunsets are breathtaking. What a magical place. I was mesmerized by every detail from the flamenco dancers, to the amazing ceramic art of each city! The colors, the energy, the vibe are absolutely amazing! Plus there was a wedding taking place while there, so that made it even more beautiful! Love was definitely in the air!

Missed this for some reason in my short 2 day trip to Seville in June 2015. This is a vast square surrounded by a palace. The weather was perfect despite it being end of December 2021. Lots of people around and even some flamenco dancing going on!

Breathtaking and beautiful place for a walk. And if you’re a star wars fan, you’ll appreciate it even more. Flamenco dancers were performing on the second level while we were walking around, adding to our enjoyment and beautiful tiles along the entire plaza with pops of color.

This place was beautiful. Highly recommend to visit once during the day and once at night. At night was my favorite. It wasn’t too crowded. There was a guy playing music which really set a great atmosphere. The lights including the lights in the fountain were so gorgeous. It felt special. But then to see it during the day is to get an entirely different perspective which is also good. I really loved this place and would put it on a must see list when visiting this city.

One of the best place I've been to in Seville. Amazing building exterior and interior. Wide space with water fountain, where the kids are really enjoyed playing with it. There's a small boat with paddle you can hire. Paddling on the small stream in front of the Plaza. During my visit, not many tourist although it was Seville Feria festival. But I can see some locals wearing the traditional flamenco dress walking around the Plaza.

Definitely one of the top-3 sites in Sevilla, if not the best! Located in the middle of a very nice park that is already worth the visit. The Plaza de España is a great mix of beautiful arquitecture, ceramic decorations and Sevilla spirit! Specially interesting for Spaniards to find the bench with your city (there is one for each city in Spain) If you are lucky you will see some live flamenco in the square which makes the place magical!

A place worth visiting, to immerse yourself in ancient Spanish history, looking at the amazing art-work on walls, each depicting a period or event in one Spanish province... at around 18.30pm during the summer months, you maybe lucky enough to see a fantastic Flamenco dance by street dancers.

(Translated by Google) one of the best known and most spectacular spaces of regional architecture. Designed by architect Anibal Gonzalez, it was built for the Ibero-American Exhibition held in Seville in 1929. Known all over the world, its semi-elliptical shape, 200 meters in diameter and its area of 50,000 square meters (about five football fields), symbolizes the embrace of Spain with its former colonies and looks towards the Guadalquivir river as the way forward to America. As an anecdote, know that the Spanish Steps in Seville have been used as a backdrop for famous films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, The Dictator with Sacha Baron Cohen or The lion and the wind, with Sean Connery. If you're in Sevilla, this is a place you've got to do on top of your bucket list. Literally, a beautiful park and plaza, to stroll around and walk, get a nice breather of fresh air. The semi-circle curved building is absolutely stunning, well kept and has the best scenery you can imagine, just get a peak at the pictures! Highly recommend coming here early in the morning when the weather is beautiful, the sun isn't too hot and there's perfect lighting to get the most out of it. Once done from the Plaza, i would also recommend strolling through the park and heading out around. Perfect place, perfect view and unbelievably breath-taking.

One of the most interesting places I've been to! At the entrance under Torre Norte, several guitarists create a flamenco atmosphere. Further, a chic canal with rental boats. Inside the building - on the stairs, local dance and fitness schools conduct classes. Climb to the second floor - a wonderful view opens from there! Crews of decorated old carriages depart from the center of the square. And the highlight of the square was the performance of flamenco dancers in the area of the entrance to the Geographic Institute! I understand they perform there almost every evening at sunset! Don't miss it! This is the best flamenco I have ever seen!

Stunning park about 10 minutes taxi ride from the centre of town. The architecture of the semi-circle plaza is grand and picture-worthy from every angle. Given the time of day we visited (2:30pm), the place was pretty empty because of the heat, but the sunny conditions made for great picture taking. I would say that you need no more than 30 minutes here, but of course if you want to enjoy the nearby park then your stay could be longer. Definitely worth the trip, absolutely beautiful place!

Plaza España is a mesmerizing gem in Seville, Spain. Its grand semicircular design, intricate bridges, and colorful ceramic tiles depict the country's history. When we arrived there we just couldn't repress a WAOW! And we came back at night, this was a 2nd WAOW. All Plaza de Espana is amazing, and outstanding work of Architecture, one of the top 3 most beautiful and impressive landmarks in Sevilla and probably one of the top 10 in all Spain. This Plaza was built in 1928 (a relatively short time) for the famous Ibero-American Exposition which took place 1929. It is a rare example of Regionalism Architecture, with elements of the Baroque and Renaissance Revival, and the Moorish styles of Spanish architecture. Once there we felt we had to be back several times and at different times of the day and especially at night to fully enjoy it, just take a look at the pictures. And...just try not miss it, even if you stay only 1 day in Sevilla.

The most magical and beautiful place I have visited in Spain. I am a huge Star Wars fan and when I found out this is one of the place they used a setting for Naboo, I knew I just had to go here. When I entered, coincidentally someone was playing music which made the whole experience so magical for me. Even from the perspective of a non-Star Wars fan, this beautiful plaza was worth visiting. So much so that we actually went twice, one during the day and one during the night.

We visited in mid-January when the temps were cooler but luckily we had lots of sun. Seville is a marvelous city, with an abundance of shopping, dining, landmarks and history. The city is a happening busy metropolitan environment. We drove from Portugal to visit Seville, and it was a nice drive and parking in the city on a weekday was rather easy. The Plaza de España (Spain Square) is the masterpiece of Seville. The architecture, history and beautiful scenery was stunning. The plaza and its buildings and walkways and river are all beautifully maintained and very picturesque. It's majestic towers on each side of the plaza are focal points and stand-out with the bright sunlight. It's a great way to spend a couple hours just walking the whole plaza inside and outside and taking in the immense beauty. Seville is a city definitely worthy of another trip because we barely scraped the surface of all the sight-seeing adventures and fun that it holds.

(Translated by Google) If you want to know something more, continue reading: It is located in the center of the historic center of the city, highlighting its volumes from the rest of the hamlet that surrounds it, its perimeter walls, as well as the difference between the old construction with octagonal vaults to the outside, the transept and head, as well as the slender tower located at the foot of the nave of the Epistle. Of the original nucleus, a church with a rectangular plan divided into three naves of five sections and ordered to be erected by Alfonso X the Wise, the last four sections of the lateral naves are preserved; the three of the same location of the central and the covers of the feet and of the left nave. The sections are divided by means of pointed horseshoe arches, which are lowered on cruciform pillars to which are attached stone and brick columns with stone capitals decorated with motifs of Romanesque, Gothic and Almohad inspiration, each of which is covered with cloth vaults. on tubes. Most of the vaults are decorated with brickwork done in brick, with some being the remains of paintings from the Alfonsi period, others from the first third of the 16th century. The portal of the feet is constituted by a pointed brick arch whose archivolt is formed by five small columns that rest on a continuous stone capital, decorated with plant themes. The one in the left nave is built in stone and has a lintel span framed by an alfiz. On the lintel there are two stone discs decorated with lacework and a marble tombstone, from the Visigoth period. Starting in 1475, the reform and expansion works of the head of the church began, which ran from that date to the end of the 16th century. For this reason, the roofs and supports of the head sections of the naves were transformed, adding another section to the central section, in which the main chapel was located. This and the section in front of it are covered with rib vaults and the head sections of the side naves with cased vaulted vaults. The spiked vault on trunks that covered the third section of the central nave was partially broken to implant a scallop over it, rebuilt in 1682, linking the Alphonsi roofs with the Renaissance ones. Coinciding with the works on the head, the Vela chapel was built, attached to the right nave and covered with a cased vaulted vault. The sacristy, was designed by Hernán Ruiz II around 1568, has a centered plan and is covered by a hemisphere on pendentives decorated with coffers with reliefs and ceramic applications. Coinciding with the completion of the works on the head and the sacristy, the two interior facades are carved, which connect the naves with the cloister and the sacristy. The portal that communicates the sacristy and the cloister was made in 1583 by Francisco de Alberto. It is carved in stone, being structured around a rectangular padded and voussoir span, flanked by pilasters with pedestals. Over this span there is a large lowered semicircular arch that rests on the pilasters and in turn is flanked by small pilasters, on which is an entablature topped by a semicircular niche that houses the sculpture of Saint Sebastian, flanked by pyramidal finials. Finally, the set is crowned by a triangular pediment. On the lintel there are reliefs with the figures of Saint John and the allegories of the Fortress and Temperance; in the niches of the jambs appear the sculptures of San Pedro and San Pablo. In the right nave the Chapel of the Souls was opened, with a square plan and covered with a hemispherical vault on pendentives. During the 18th century, several chapels were built, among which the Ánimas and the Baptismal Chapel stand out. Si te gustado dale un Like, Gracias. fuente IAPH, y Monumental.net

(Translated by Google) Thanks to the Guadalquivir, the only navigable river in Spain that divides the city in two, Seville has always been a thriving commercial center, so much so that in the fourteenth century it earned the nickname "puerto y puerta de Indias". Mythology has it that Seville was founded by Hercules but in reality its origins are due to the Tartesi and the Romans, who called it Hispalis. In 712 the city was conquered by the Arabs and in this period Isbiliya, the Arabic name of Seville, experienced its maximum splendor reaching its peak in the mid-twelfth century when the Major Mosque and its minaret, the famous Giralda, were built. today a symbol of the city. Since 1248, when the Catholic Ferdinand III of Castile reconquered Seville, the city underwent rapid transformations: the Major Mosque was replaced with the Cathedral and the port, in the 14th century, obtained the monopoly of Spanish trade with the American continent, effectively transforming Seville in one of the richest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Thanks to the arrival of numerous artists during the Spanish Golden Century, such as Zurbaran, Murillo, Juan de Valdés Leal, Juan Martinez Montanés and Pedro Roldan, Seville experienced a great artistic and architectural development with the construction of majestic Renaissance and Baroque palaces. Unfortunately, with the plague epidemic of 1649 and the covering up of the Guadalquivir in 1717, Seville experienced a strong period of decline that, with ups and downs, dragged on until the twentieth century. Before the Spanish Civil War Seville hosted the Universal Exposition of 1929 and, on the occasion of the 5th Centenary of the Discovery of America, welcomed millions of visitors for the 1992 Expo. For these events Seville has undergone an important modernization: Piazza di Spain, Piazza dell'America, the pavilions of the Maria Luisa Park, a Tecoological park home to important companies, new roads, stations and AVE high-speed rail lines that connect it to Madrid in a few hours, avant-garde style buildings and eight bridges on the Guadalquivir, like the bridge of the Alamillo, symbol of modern Seville.

Super awesome place to spend time and chill in Sevilla. Pretty crowded because is one the main attractions in the city. For making some good pics you would have to wake up very early in the morning because it is getting busy after 8 in the morning. The plaza is guesting some events and even concerts. There are also flamenco artists.

Iconic place in Seville. You can't miss it when visiting the city. At 2 PM we were lucky enough (or not) to see street flamenco performers in two different days. Wonderful experience.

The view of the plaza is magnificent. There are flamenco dancers in the square most of the time. They are amazing! There is paddle boats too if you are feeling adventurous. Probably the third best tourist spot in Seville after the Alcazar and the Cathedral. A must see during your visit.

Impressive building complex of 20th century. Relaxed atmosphere, many movies were short there as well. Located in a big park which is also worth visiting. Plan at least two hours of time

This building and the square are simply amazing: you get there through a beautiful park surrounding by very old trees. Once you arrive you have this massive palace just in front of you and the architecture is definitely outstanding. Probably it's the main attraction in Seville, just don't miss it if you are in this city....!!!!

Lovely historic building and great place to hang out for a bit. The fountain and gardens opposite are also worthwhile. You can walk around the facade and upper walkway, but it is in use by government/military, so you can't actually enter the building.

Gigantic plaza. Feast for the eyes. We saw this on the backend of our Spanish trip and very neat to see all the places we have been represented.

Come when the sun is up as the column structures create beautiful tapestries of light and shade for photography. If you are lucky, you might catch a street flamenco performance or busking acts adding musical theme songs to the scenery. A horse carriage ride to the plaza is highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Arya Y. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely gorgeous square in the middle of a park that take you back in time to a different beautiful era. That this was built for function (and it still does run as a government building that deals with migration amongst other matters) in the early 20th century makes this all the more fascinating. It’s like those times you walk through streets that have great history and wondered what life was like when this was thriving as a city of yore. Except, you’re living that thriving part of time in here. The architecture and design and whatnot is best seen on pictures and videos. But what I loved most was the vibe of the place and the fact that it’s free for anyone to just walk around in. There are musicians playing in the walkways, sometimes a flamenco dancer dancing while a man plays on the guitar, busking for the day. It wasn’t too crowded while I was there this winter, 2021, with ample space to roam around without being caught up in droves of people. Outside it, you see horses pulling carriages, transporting people around the park. It really is an experience to savour and bask in.

Impressive place, if this is your first time in Sevilla, Plaza de España is a Must see iconic and imponent landmark. It's construction with a fine attention to detail will entertain you for a long time and keep you busy admiring it's beauty. You will find some activities like rowing boats and street performers carrying flamenco dances that will be worth your trip. Make sure you bring your camera and strike your best pose near sunset since the views will be the best due to a unique lighting.

I loved this place and returned to it a few times while I was in Sevilla. It is one of the most beautiful places I've seen. It looks better when it's sunny. And don't forget to visit it at night.

One of our most favourite places in Sevilla, and probably globally! We went there when the sun settled on it and it was super beautiful. The sunset was then an absolute cherry on top! Highly recommend also to rent one of the rental boats and paddle along and just relax for a few hours. The plaza is also big enough that even with big crowds it feels still quite nice. We will definitely come back next time in Sevilla. PS: Great Flamenco shows and local musicians make the experience extra special

What a wonderful place...we didn't make a real plan what to see in Sevilla, but this was real highlight of our trip. Something really breathtaking, a lot of colours, tiles etc etc...there was a flamenco live show with musicians and singers... highly, really highly recommended place to visit in Sevilla!!!

My favorite place in whole Seville! Really stunning piece of art! Must see! And the park is amazing for long, relaxing walks. Rent a boat and ride under the bridges too. Sit on the beautiful benches named after the biggest cities in Spain. Listen to flamenco music under the roof. Simply amazing!

I loved Plaza de España! The hand painted marble and etched brick work was incredible. Jaw dropping detail with so much history. We spent a good two hours just wandering and taking in the view and the pretty historical site. We got there around 9:30 and it was cool out and not as crowded.

  • 5/5 Theresa H. 1 year ago on Google
What a beautiful park and municipal palace. The ceramic bridges, wall exteriors and decorative architecture are a burst of vibrant colors. The fountain is favorite spot for tourists. Don’t miss the free flamenco shows and various musicians. Take a horse drawn carriage ride or rent a row boat to tour around the canal.

  • 5/5 Caryn C. 1 year ago on Google
What a gem, an astounding place! The architecture of the site is incredibly detailed--everywhere there is something to see from walking grand crafted stairways to standing on intricate hand-painted tiles. The vast plaza has so much to see and walk around--take your time to really take everything in. If you're lucky, you'll catch a live flamenco performance--so powerful and in a truly wonderful setting for music to echo.

  • 5/5 Sylvia L. 1 year ago on Google
The plaza is free and often with lots of visitors! Depending on the day/time you visit, sometimes there are dances and music performance (first time there were none, and second time here on Friday afternoon there is a 30mind window of dance performance around 5:30). Nice place to sit around and enjoy the awesome building. Do make way for people who try to take pictures of their home region around the plaza.

🇪🇸The overwhelming Plaza de España is the most famous square in Seville. Several buildings were designed for the Ibero-American exhibition of 1929 in and around the Maria-Luisa Park.Aníbal González designed this Spanish square, which is in Spanish Renaissance style with a diameter of 200 metres. Spain’s goal with the exhibition was to make symbolic peace with its former American colonies. #plazadeespa #sevilla #spain #andalucia #plazadeespana #espa #seville #madrid #travel #asevilla #photography #espana #travelphotography #sevillacity #sevillagram #siviglia #sevillespain #europe #andalusia #visitseville #travelgram #plazadeespanasevilla #architecture #estaes #visitspain #plazadeespanaseville

During the summer months the park had concerts in the afternoon. They will close the plaza and 3pm to get ready for the shoes or events. We weren't able to get all the nice shots of the plaza because of the erected stage and seating. I'm sure it's amazing without them. You can take a roe boat around the little moat that's ongoing of the building. The day we went was so hot wet skipped that. There's lots of sun exposureWith very little shade around the plaza. The park in front had a lot of nice pathways to walk and escape the heat of the day. There's even an artistic waterfall you can sit by. There's stairs nearby to climb to the gazebo at the top of the waterfall.

A magical place you must see if you are passing through Seville. An architectural jewel that represents each of the places in Spain through its tiles. I had the opportunity to see a flamenco group that was playing nearby and gave a huge plus to my experience. It is definitely an iconic place.

  • 5/5 Gerben V. 8 months ago on Google
Truly one of the highlights of Sevilla with very nice and classic architecture. It seems to be very old while is built only about a 100 years ago. When we visited, most of the square was in use for a summer event with various concerts but nevertheless it was very pretty.

  • 5/5 Michelle M. 9 months ago on Google
Oh my goodness it’s so beautiful. I only had the chance to go outside but it was still so pretty. Truthfully it was a lot bigger than in the pictures. It was also very hot & very little shade if you are in the center. This spot is pretty touristy but it’s definitely worth visiting. There is also a flamenco dance show in the shade in the center every so hour I believe. It is also free. They have canoeing that you can pay for in the little moat. Definitely put this on your itinerary for Seville!

Merci d'avance.

The most beautiful plaza on earth. At Plaza de España you can find the history of Spain (as the name suggests). An amazing building and structure with little ponts connecting the main structure to a small circle island on the center. Highly recommended to visit it during the Sevilla festival.

Visited to see one of the places were Star Wars II were filmed. There weren't many other tourists there at the time so we managed to get lots of truly astonishing pictures. There were rigged for a concert there at the time so we had to work a bit to not get the stage in the background of the pictures. There was a nice kiosk stand nearby with a good orange slush and a great lemon slush, they only took cash. We bought water and coke from a wending machine, the coke showed out to be a tinsy tiny 20cl one, and was more expensive than the water, take the water instead.

An amazing place where cultures meet. I highly recommend it not only for the history but also to enjoy some of the best bits of Seville. Imagine a mix between old Arab and European cultures mixed into creating this great place. Most of the time there will be some flamenco dancers that they make a wonderful show Needless to mention that you can have a small rest. The Plaza de España in Maria Luisa Park, Seville, is a stunning place. It looks like a half-circle and has colorful tiles from different parts of Spain. There's a pretty canal with bridges where you can go boating. The plaza is great for walks, picnics, and enjoying evenings when it's lit up. As a passionate traveler in my early thirties, I've had the privilege of exploring many beautiful destinations, but the Plaza de España in Sevilla stands out as an absolute gem. This iconic square is a timeless masterpiece that seamlessly blends history, architecture, and culture into an unforgettable experience. From the moment I set foot in the Plaza de España, I was captivated by its grandeur. The magnificent semi-circular building, adorned with stunning tiles and intricate details, is nothing short of breathtaking. It's a true architectural marvel that perfectly reflects the rich heritage of this beautiful city. What I found most captivating was the blend of old and new. While the Plaza de España exudes history and tradition, it's also a vibrant hub of activity. Strolling along the canal, I watched rowboats gliding through the water, each one a unique voyage of discovery. I couldn't resist renting a rowboat myself, and it added an extra layer of magic to the experience. The tiled alcoves representing different regions of Spain were a highlight for me. Each one is a work of art, telling a story of Spain's diverse culture and history. It was like taking a journey through the entire country in just one location. The Plaza de España is a testament to Sevilla's commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing modernity. As I wandered through the charming Maria Luisa Park that surrounds it, I couldn't help but feel a profound connection to this city's past and present. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply someone seeking a picturesque backdrop for your travels, the Plaza de España is an absolute must-visit. It's a place where time seems to stand still, allowing you to savor the beauty and culture of Sevilla at your own pace. So, if you're like me, a traveler who seeks to immerse yourself in the heart and soul of a city, make sure to add the Plaza de España to your itinerary. It's a place where every step is a step back in time and a step forward into the vibrant spirit of Sevilla.

Plaza de España is truly a remarkable square, and our visit in February was nothing short of delightful. Despite it being the winter month, we were blessed with a comfortable 20-degree Celsius weather, making our exploration even more enjoyable. The square is a treasure trove of experiences. As you enter under Torre Norte, the vibrant ambiance is set by talented guitarists, creating a captivating flamenco atmosphere that instantly immerses you in Spanish culture. Moving on, there's a stylish canal where you can rent boats for a picturesque ride. Inside the building, local dance and fitness schools hold engaging classes on the grand staircase. Venturing up to the second floor rewards you with breathtaking views that truly showcase the beauty of Plaza de España. We couldn't resist the allure of the decorated old carriages departing from the center of the square. But the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the unforgettable performance by flamenco dancers near the entrance to the Geographic Institute. We were thrilled to discover that these performances take place almost every evening at sunset, ensuring you don't miss out on the best flamenco experience. For families with children, I highly recommend taking a carriage ride with the charming horses to explore the city further. It's an enchanting experience that kids will adore. In summary, Plaza de España exceeded our expectations, offering an array of captivating experiences, from flamenco music and boat rides to stunning city views. Our February visit was blessed with fantastic weather, making it a perfect time to explore this magnificent square. Don't miss out on this truly exceptional Spanish gem!

Beautiful landmark square with mini river, seats painted with ceramic tiles, ornate pavilion that is free to see. Stairs allow you to go up for better views though note that the towers don’t connect so the highway viewpoints require going up each staircase separately. (You can’t go inside the buildings though as government offices.) Make sure to look at the 48 different alcoves as each one represents a Spanish province with the name, map, coat of arms, and picture of historical event. In the morning it is in shadows so later in the day is best. Also can have various street musicians or performers which are nice to hear. Pay-for toilets are across the street (cash only).

What a truly awe-inspiring place! Although it gives off an ancient vibe, it's remarkable to think that it was constructed not too long ago. Despite the crowds of tourists and numerous vendors, I found the atmosphere quite enjoyable. The architecture is nothing short of breathtaking, and if you happen to be a Star Wars enthusiast, it's a real treat to see it in person. The plaza's resemblance to a scene from the iconic franchise adds a delightful and unexpected twist to the experience.

This place looks very plane from the outside, but once you step in you become mesmerised by the details and beauty of the Plaza. It's huge and you probably need days to absorb every detail and history that is depicted in the murals. There are beautiful fountains and river trenches that you can get a boat to roll on. The only thing is you have to be mindful of the gypsies trying to rip you off for a palm reading or selling you "rosemary", best just ignore them.

Recommended to come early in the morning as when we went in the late afternoon around 5, the plaza was closed. I’m not sure if it’s because of the Latin American music festival that they had to close it off earlier. The tentacle also obstructed the full view of the plaza. We were lucky to have a musician who played a violin and a group who performed Flamenco to add to the atmosphere. Beautiful place, and check out the free Military museum while you’re here.
