Review continues from second account - Episode 4 - Father visits the hospital again for his monthly check up which was part of package & I get a call from hospital again to talk with insurance to expedite the release of payment. I say you better check with your higher up's than a client & disconnect. End of story.. Summary - I wouldn't recommend this hospital due to sheer ignorance from their staff along with non supportive management. Treatment might be good but it only works if you get the mental care along with medicine. Advice to hospital - treat your patient like patient & not a money milking animal. Every patient need not spend 4 to 5 hours in your hospital waiting for some information or treatment. Also it would be duty of hospital to understand where they stand in respect to being updated with insurance company info & their signed MOU's, your patients or insured are least bothered about your relationship with insurance company. I know this was a long post but had to write it for my fellow citizens.

I heard about Katrthik Netralaya through Practo, my experience with Dr.Deepthi R Meda has been exceptional. Very professional, immense knowledge in the field of Cornea and Refractive surgery. The moment I had a word with the doctor was sure that I will undergo Lasik Surgery, I was even more confident I made the best decision by choosing the hospital. I underwent Contoura Vision Customised Thin Flap Lasik Surgery suggested by doctor at Jyothi Labs on Dec 22nd 2023, as the instrument was available at that place. All other tests PENTACAM and few other pre eye tests were done at the Karthik Netralaya hospital. Once needs to spend 2 days prior to the surgery to get all these tests done with ample time on hand. To be frank, the vision was clear from Day 1 of the surgery. Pleasantly surprised as the recovery stage was only 3 days. I did not experience redness,burning in the initial stages but once I started going outside after 15 days when exposed to sunlight there was slight burning eyes, which can be solved with eye drops provided.I could use my laptop, phone, TV, other gadgets etc comfortably. I have given 4 stars only for Dr.Deepthi R Meda. Management needs to be sincere in not making the patients wait for a long time even after fixing the appointment during the initial stages of eye tests. Respect individual's time! Overall would recommend anyone looking out for a safe,hassle-free lasik surgery experience.

I had a great experience being treated by Doctor Karthik. He was calm and holistic in his approach. I had nothing to be concerned about. The experience of tests were also pretty good. My wife Rajeshwari had to undergo cataract surgery of both eyes. We consulted Dr Ravindra at Karthik netralaya in October. He advised surgery for both eyes. We had planned a trip to Dubai in November and so we were reluctant for surgery. Dr Ravindra explained in detail about the surgery and assured us that she would enjoy Dubai trip with a better vision. Wonderful experience. All the cadres of staff are patient driven, affable and especially the operating doctor and his team therein are very talented and the operation will be over in very short time. And we can see from the next moment the operation is done. But some care like seeing direct light and pouring eye drops and other care for one month is needed, ofcourse while attending to our regular duties cautiously. It's ridiculous that you have to take off your footwear and walk bare feet in the dusty basement,black mat and lift. What happens when one wants to go to the toilet? Yucky feeling irrespective of the service provided. Have reusable /washable shoe covers available instead or maintain hygiene by mopping the floor regularly. There is more chances of disease transmission if one is bare feet going from floor to floor and bathroom in and out....

My vision in both the eyes started deteriorating due to wrong diagnose and the medicines prescribed by other eye hospitals in Bengaluru. With little hopes in mind, I thought of visiting Karthik Netralaya in N R Colony. But during my first visit only the experience was amazing and really appealing. I have availed Karthik Netralaya's services for my mother (a few years ago) and again for my father (about a month ago) for their cataract surgeries. They went off very well and their post operative care is also now complete. The overall experience has been excellent. The facilities are spic and span, equipment are state of the art, and the entire staff (the doctors, the nurses, operations and housekeeping) are all very competent, courteous and helpful. It has felt less like a hospital and more like visiting a close relative's home to be honest. On a lighter note, it was very pleasant to note that Kannada was the default medium of communication. It left me feeling warm and fuzzy, being a local myself. Having said that, the entire staff are competent in any commonly used language and I have seen them go to great lengths to ensure there is someone to talk to the patients in their own native tongue, making them feel comfortable and welcome. I'd encourage potential patients to be aware of the procedures if you are availing medical insurance as there may be some changes from time to time. There certainly was a difference between the procedures for my mother (albeit from a few years ago) as compared to my father. There is probably limited say the hospital has in these matters, but please ensure you understand the procedures beforehand. The hospital staff does walk you through them all quite clearly. A big thanks to the staff from my parents and I! I can confidently recommend this hospital to anyone in need of eye care.

I was really obsessed about the cleanliness of this place...Never waited more than 10 minutes after appointment time to be seen or had any bad experiences.I needed to order new contact lenses and new eyeglasses so I went to this place Karthik Netralaya which is walkable distance from my place.The lady called Shilpa who's guidence and approach was really appealing...she helped me to get my contacts re-ordered...I have recommended my entire family to visit this place in case of any vision related issues...

Well where should I start from.. My father had his cateract surgery done for both the eyes. Unfortunately the staff here are either very poor in understanding the process or they are outright ignorant. 1st episode - We had initially conveyed that we have insurance & would like to go for cashless procedure. Idea of having insurance is to facilitate smooth experience for patient & as well as the insured. Post giving the details of insurance along with all necessary details, it took 3 days of followup from me to figure out that the insurance email ID they were approaching was incorrect & it wasted 3 days in total just to get the right info. After getting suspecious of hospital not having correct email ID I had to get involved to share the right ID to the hospital! (wow speak about knowledge management) and had to follow up with the hospital till the approval from. Insurance is received. Thankfully the approval arrived on the right time before the surgery & procedure on my father eye was done without a fuss. Episode 2 - On the eve of getting my father's second surgery I get a call from hospital that they have not received settlement from insurance for the first surgery & may have to hold on the second surgery until they receive the money!!! (talk about customer orient) they wanted me as a insured person to follow up for their payment. Well as per my insurance the MOU with the hospital is the payment shall be settled between 30-45 days. Hospital wants to share that they have MOU for payment in 15 days. (who to believe & why should I be bothered anyway!) for not having a coordination between insurance & hospital we as patient, we as insured are being taken for a ride. Thankfully since I directly had to get involved to get payment to hospital, the payment was received in a day for the first surgery that was performed. Episode 3 - We reach hospital in the day the surgery was appointed & the surgery itself went on smooth. I was suspecting something will come on our way after the surgery since every procedure was running smooth & I was right. After the surgery my father was told to wait for recovery which would take appx 1 hour. While waiting we get hailed by Ms. Aveena who seems to be heading operations at hospital come up to us & ask for us to speak with insurance team to share the final approval for clearance. Sigh! This is after hospital has received all sort of cost approval for the surgery where insurance has sent official documentations saying all expense with respect to surgery is covered. Here comes the best part, i request the hospital to relieve the patient since patient is diabetic & he needs to eat something immediately & I can wait instead until they receive the final approval. Shocker was hospital was so adament that they asked the patient to wait until they receive final approval even asking me to bring something to eat for my father, funny part was they wanted my father to have his afternoon lunch in the lobby of a hospital. Coming back to approval part & sensing the inability of hospital staff & hostile environment created at that time, I took the matters into my hands & followed up with insurance team so they can send the final approval form immediately. Sensing the urgency in my voice insurance team sent the approval form but due to some confusion with MOU they approved had 15k less from total value. Hospital now had another tool to torment us. They wanted the pending amount to be cleared for my father to be released from jail sorry hospital, i informed I will pay the difference amount from my pocket & would ask insurance to reimburse it when ever they can. Hospital agreed promptly, i pay the difference amount & we finally head home. Rest of story in next review

We are glad to visit Karthik Netralaya for eye check up of my 12 year old son .After general eye checkup Dr.Nikhil had Suggested Binocular vision Assessment . After assesing they suggested vision therapy for few days.. But after taking vision therapy for 6 days itself ... a drastic change came which reduced the double vision(squint) mostly to nothing. Special thanks to Dr. Nikhil for suggesting binocular vision assessment and for the care, patience given during vision therapy. our 8 year old son Mrinaal had a minor squint and to rectify the squint either our son has to go surgery or BVT (Binocular Vision Therapy). Doctor Swati & Nikhil recommended for BVT as he was still child and as we know it's a long process but still, we opted for BVT which was very helpful for our son to rectify /hide the squint. We Thank very much to ophthalmologist consultant Nikhil who has lot of patience & helped our child on this BVT process which has helped our child to hide the squint. We came here for my husband's Lasik operation, and from start to finish, they showed the utmost care and described every step that needed to be taken before and after surgery.The doctors are very patient in addressing all of our concerns.They also supplied emergency contact numbers, which greatly aided us in clarifying our concerns about wearing eye shields, etc.I was never kept waiting more than ten minutes for an appointment, and the staff were always polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hospital for any eye-related problems.

Remember: Even then, there was no problem in my eyes farsightedness and nearsightedness. But six months ago, when i went to see a doctor because my eyes were red, that doctor prescribed glass that he had 0.5 nearsightedness. Then I went to Kartik nethralaya , clinic thinking that I will show it again and then put glasses on. They put some kind of lenses on my eyes and asked me to read. And the eyes had left all the lightings for a few times. Then, they said, "Both near vision and distance vision are low. I am surprised. Because till then I had no problem with near vision. Eyes were very good. But.... He said this and suggested me a glass. I have not even worn glass till now. .But I have started seeing problems in my eyes "after going to his ophthalmology clinic. I have seen a lot of change in my near vision. There is a problem in both near and far vision. Now tell me what to say about this..!? Who should we blame..!? Because until that moment of going to this eye clinic, I did not see any problem in far vision and near vision. But.. five six months ago a doctor said that the far vision is a little different. After went to this nethralaya and did some tests there, I started having problems in both my eyes.👈🙂 what can I do ?🙂 this is true. God Promise 👈🙁 they telling after 40 years this is common to everyone. 👈

Recently team did cataract surgery for my in-law and it was painless. The advanced tools they use for surgery is very much beneficial for painless surgery. You can watch TV , do your regular daily activities from the very next day of the surgery.

The hospital is inviting and his beautiful staff members are friendly and helpful in every way. The way he trained this both counsellors are amazing they are knowledgeable, Proactive experienced and ever smiling I personally liked there behaviour . Both counsellors named Sunayana and Mrs. Shilpa work for patients and not for hospital sake and me personally saw they cooperation listening , To each other with respect this is what hospital needs.Dr.Ravindra needs more staff like them and not only them receptionist and Lakshmi in front desk even house keeping staffs It’s really awarded to see you and your hospital service & surgical technique. understands patients problem very well. Visiting Karthik Netralaya for many years and I have nothing but respect and admiration for their professionalism, expertise and friendly manner. Doctors always took the time to explain any condition I had in detail, making sure I understood all the details fully. Doctors are easy to talk to and very caring in the way they interacts with patients, always thinking of their best interests first. Feb 24th 2024 got a cataract surgery done for my father. Going by past experience and testimonials from others, Karthik netralaya was our obvious choice. And this turned out to be a great decision indeed! Dr. Ravindra and team were extremely professional and displayed a very high level of maturity and expertise while interacting with us right from the time when we had gone for our consultation visits. I am very impressed by this hospital and Dr. Ravindra in particular. Also thank you to ms. Shwetha for painstakingly explaining the post surgery do's and don'ts. Infact everyone from the medical team (including the staff, ms. Prathima & ms. Roopa, who helped take my dad to and from the OT) to the insurance team were very professional and I highly recommend this hospital. I still have a few follow up visits to make but going by the amazing precedent already set by this hospital in taking care of my father I'm sure all follow up visits will take place smoothly. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the hospital is top notch. Great experience for us and overall I would give this hospital 20 out of 10!
