The location is good, but there's nothing to do here. No place to sit and enjoy. Although there are steps to the river bank, it doesn't look inviting as it is quite dirty thanks to educated tourists who think every place is their garbage disposal unit. The roads from the Bangalore -Mysore highway to this place is absolutely mind blowing. You see some amazing scenery and a lot of farms. The village roads are spacious and the houses are laid well apart. The drive is really good.

10kms from Kokkare Belur Bird Sanctuary this little dam is a must visit to capture the fishing moments of pelicans. The peaceful journey through the agricultural fields is a cherry on top

Really a nice place to be on weekends, I saw people doing camping as well. Go in winter as the dam will be closed and you can access to the basin.

I have gone to iglooru dam for fishing I got two big fish

We visited this place while we were at kokkkare Bellur bird sanctuary. This is about 8 km further down through the villages. Nice and calm place. Kids enjoy. But since the dam was closed, the stopped water had smell but not too bad.

A beautiful Dam came across when riding in a remote village

A beautiful dam in between two villages constructed on the Shimsha River. The bridge is totally safe as they have provided a cage on both sides. The place is surrounded with natural beauty on 360°. There's a mechanical engineering room just beside the dam which is visible on the road side. Worth visiting while on leisure drive!
