The best home made Italian food you can have in this side of Africa. Pizza and Pasta are great. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Don’t miss the ice cream

I visited this restaurant last month Despite I really enjoyed my pizza, I found the restaurant too expensive. Actually, I couldn't afford the food that I wanted to pick when I arrived there. Is more expensive than an Italian restaurant in Madrid (where I live). This is very sad, it's clearly a restaurant for tourists, not for travellers or Malawian people.

Italian Restaurant with beautiful gardens and spectacular views. The food was very nice. Its a shame i have diet restrictions so i settled for a vegetarian dish. Its commendable they have locally grown Zomba coffee and also other International varieties ground for you on demand

High quality restaurant. Nooit only for in Africa, but even in Italy you won't find easily such good food.

Delicious Italian food and wonderful atmosphere! The owners were very helpful with us when we couldn't find a taxi to get back to our place. Very much appreciated !

Delicious, homemade Italian food on Zomba mountain. Situated in an old colonial house, the restaurant has a beautiful porch with lovely views. Food is delicious and varied. Pizza, pasta, meat etc. Best pizza I have had in Malawi. They make their own ice cream and sorbet Which I highly recommend. Cocktails and wine on offer. Great Negronis. Wonderful atmosphere. Great service. My favorite place in Zomba and Malawi. Will be returning.

All the pizzas we had were fantastic, the ice cream and the view from the terrace were perfect and they have soy milk for coffee if you don’t appreciate cow milk!

It’s a beautiful place. Romantic building and garden. Mark is super friendly and the staff is amazing. We eat two days in a row at the restaurant. You can PRE order lasagne (Parmigiano, traditional, vegetarian, vegan) - it was amazing!

We stayed there at the campsite, which is very convenient for a stay in Zomba. Do not miss the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights! The best Italian food I have eaten in years.

Not the best Pizza I had in Zomba, surprisingly. The prices were expensive for the area which is understandable given it must be hard to get hold of some ingredients in Malawi, but it felt as though more care could have been paid to the simple things like the pizza dough.

Went to Cassa Rossa yesterday for lunch and was bitterly disappointed. Had a Pizza with Italian sausage and Chorizo. I had four slices of chorizo and what looked like mince. Must have been the Italian sausage but tasted like nothing. My pizza base was burnt to charcoal. It was bitter and just not nice. At the time we were the only customers there so could not be that they were very busy. My wife had spaghetti Pesto and it looked like it was just dropped on the plate. No garnish at all and not a very big portion either. Certainly not value for money. Update. The owner contacted me and offered full refund. He offered an explanation and apologised for service received.

Best Italian food we've had in 4 months travelling through Africa. Really pleased with every dish. Pizza in European style is a great addition.

Wonderful little nook to have great ice cream, which is hard to come by in Malawi. Really friendly owner who also told us which road to take to avoid protests

Soo good! Authentic handmade Italian food. Simple but perfect flavors. The setting is very beautiful with a gorgeous view in an old house.

Beautifully location and a great spot after walking up the plateau. The ice cream is incredible, as is the pasta and pizza.Service is really quick (especially for Malawi!) The owners are brilliant- so welcoming and chatty. The view from the outside seating area is amazing.

Delicious Italian food in a beautiful garden location between Zomba Town and the plateau. The main problem is deciding what to eat... We also stayed the night in one of the rooms which was excellent and would very much recommend.

It's a beautiful place with a nice vibe going on. A place to go to experience authentic Italian meals. Though the portions are really small. I was still hungry after the meal. It is a bit expensive as well

One almost needs a 4x4 car to reach the place and parking space is limited. In terms of food the starters were good but the main course disappointing (bland and pasta not 'al dente'). Dessert was nice. Service was fine but not out of the ordinary (no ice bucket for white wine bottle).

A delicious and housemade italian cuisine, with delicate and creative tastes. Also, the place is lovely and quiet, orned with pieces of art and beautiful fournitures in a colonial style. Based here since 10 years, the owners are very nice and will share with you their malawian way of life. On the way to Zomba plateau, it is a "must try" if you can!

Best Italian food spot in the city. I like the surrounding environment. The view of the mountain is 👌. The food is a little on the high side but different and worth it. Great place for both dinner and lunch. The simple interior design makes you feel at home. Definitely worth a visit... Pizza on the menu wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Great food and a half decent wine list. The cheese is really good (a rare treat in Malawi), and the pasta is tasty. Big portions so go hungry and leave full.

It was an amazing stay with a delicious breakfast included. Best pizzas in Malawi for us. The owners (real italians) are very nice and welcoming. Best place to stay in Zomba.

I had a fantastic stay at Casa Rossa (July 2023). I had been there for dinner in the past when I lived in Lilongwe, and the food was and still is fantastic, but I hadn't thought to stay there until a friend recommended it. The rooms are simple but cozy, the breakfast is delicious, and the owners and other guests/patrons/staff are a pleasure to interact with. On top of that, you have beautiful views and a relatively convenient location - I was able to walk to the offices I was working at in town in 25-30 minutes, which was lovely. Highly recommend.
