Quiet environment. Deconsecrated church with fascinating guide. Cafe in the old chapel. Museum about the life of the Beguines and the sisters, with guide. Monthly book sale within the site on the first Sunday, in various buildings throughout the beguinage.

A beautiful place in Diest where the Beguines used to live. Beautiful houses that are still inhabited. Highly recommended to visit if you are in Diest.

Charming, historical, well preserved and with a good bar. A pitty that cars can ride inside.

Beautiful and calm. Have a drink on the terrace besides the church or eat/buy one of the regional dishes/products at the Xaverius house or 1618.

Beautiful example of a colony unique to Belgium, whereby unmarried women and widows could live under the protection of the Church, without being nuns. They could go out and work. Now the begijnhofs are quite arty and trendy places to live.
