Very nice place to have a walk after meal. I was there twice, both afternoon. Although it’s hot but bearable. Can see the ferries in and out of the jetty. Highly recommended if you’re in Maldives

A nice open place and also to mention, very well maintained. And you'll see quite a lot of pigeons here, Right in the centre of circle. A good place to sit and watch the ferries.

Previously, there were office buildings here, especially before Nov 3 1988. After that, those buildings were demolished and slowly this area became the main public square named Jumhooree Maidhaan or Republic Square. Now, a lot of people visit here on weekends and holidays.

It's a really nice and windy spot just near the port. You can see the flag of Maldives and get some really good pictures at this spot. There is an abundance of pigeons around this spot. You can feed pigeons and play with them. Would definitely recommend this spot.

You will never miss this place if you visit the capital .An open space in the city which offers a platform for people to sit and chit chat.It is also considered as a land mark among tourists..Renovated with green meadows and also with an attractive fountain.A huge flag is hosted over there.Pigeons are fed over here,so able to see them in groups every time.Should appreciate for maintaining it pretty well..

Nice place to spend an evening. The Maldives flag post in one corner. Just in front is the presidential jetty. You can see plenty of pigeons here. Many people feed them here. Stop here and have break on your male city tour.

(Translated by Google) Not recommended for tourists, especially for ladies, especially if you are white. The biggest mistake if you expect the beautiful Maldives. I’ve never been so embarrassed in a city, we haven’t even eaten how bad we felt, everyone is looking at you so much that it’s frustrating, be sure to avoid visiting this city because you have nothing to see, no culture, no history, no good experiences .

Not overly impressed, there was netting up when we were there. We sat on a wall for shade but had to try to avoid the bird mess. We didn't see any benches there to sit on.

The place is neat and clean. The National flag flies all the while. It's a lot of space for you to roam and take pics. Plan visiting it early in the morning or by 5pm the weather will be cooler. Do have a great time and don't forget to click pictures.

We're on the Malhe island of Maldives, which is also it's capital city. This particular place is Republic Square & as you can see, lots of pigeons are there & people are feeding them. Nice cute little place & you can see the Sea on one side.

A park with lots of Pigeons !! The fountain doesn’t run all the time, I have never seen it with any water, really! There are lots of people sitting around the shade, mostly are foreign workers. The part that I don’t like is if you are foreigner, the local souvenir shop guy will follow you and bugged you to go visit their shops or change money with them :(

(Translated by Google) Spread before Number 1-Jetty, It is a central square where the national flag of this country's largest size is relapsing. You may need to be careful depending on the shooting direction, as there is the National Police Command department behind you, but nothing is said unless you have a tripod in front of the command department. This country's largest mosque is also right in front of it, and it is a good starting point for sightseeing because it is a park located in the center of Malé attractions such as the fish market and the fruit and vegetables market.

Nothing particaularly interesting about this place. In land scarce Male, this wide area is uncommon. There are trees line up along the squares with locals taking shade under them.

Republic Square. Quiet a lot of pigeons. You can sit under the shades and enjoy the busy traffic. There is a musical water fountain. But its hardly operational now a days. Quiet relaxing and soothing place during night hours. Right next to defence force HQ (Big white castle like walls) and police HQ (Blue and white building) So i wuld recommend not doing anything funky around here. 😂

Jumhooree Maidhaan, also known as Independence Square and Republic Square, is an unforgettable sight, especially for visitors who arrive to Male via the sea. Lined with palm trees, this verdant square offers views of the jetty and the deep blue waters beyond. One of the largest Maldivian flags in the country can also be seen at the center of the square. Usually bustling with locals, tourists, and even beautiful flocks of doves, Jumhooree Maidhaan is a must-visit, especially on clear days.

This small square is the central point of the city, located on the north bank of Male. In front of the square is the former Presidential Pier, and behind it is the Friday Grand Mosque and the Islamic Center. Not far behind the square is the ancient Friday Mosque in the Maldives, and further south is the beautiful Sultan Park and the National Museum.

Went to some souvenir shops as we visited Maldives. The place was extremely crowded . The place looks nice only in photos. It's a tough place for the tourist. As soon as you land there The shops owners of the souvenir shops will be chasing you like a hawk. Overall an OK experience to buy some quick pick ups for home.

Located near the jetty it is one of the first sights that you get to see upon reaching Malé, Maldives. An open park with pigeon feeding area, a central monument with fountains around. It provides a platform for different activities. Good weather calls for a visit to the republic square where you can come and enjoy with your family.

The first impression of Male’ at the entrance from Jetty No. 1. This park is surrounded by important building like head Quoter of National force & Maldives police services. Also next to the biggest mosque in Male’. Lots of foreigners & locals get together to enjoy the environment specially during early evening.
