A beautiful ancient castle, which is free to walk around and see some amazing landscapes however, the castle itself, is locked. Around this castle there’s a hermitage and the castle itself with a tower and a wall. The castle has a Catalan flag on top which looks spectacular. The wall has a cool arc, which then leads the view to the city. This spot is located on the mountain, so to get there, you’ll either hike up the mountain or cycle or drive uphill. Regarding to parking area, you shouldn’t worry since it’s right next to your destination. Tho this place could from time to time, get crowded and there could be no parking spots left, so keep that in mind. ;)

It's a shame that such an amazing castle is not well maintained... graffiti everywhere and plenty of youth around drinking...it should be better maintained. Apart from that, is definitely worth visiting especially for its panoramic views on the surroundings.

Beautiful view, lovely green path, with a lot of pine trees smell around. Nice place to meditate, as there were almost no people As a bonus, the way up was faster than google map suggest, due to all the hidden steps :)

Great viewpoint and the hike up isn’t too bad, there’s a few stairs you can take to make the climb a little shorter.

Lovely view ,there are lots of stepts that you can take as a shortcut not ablr to see the on google maps ,you will swet alott as we did as well but once you re there at the top and your knees or legs arebwobbling your eyes will rejoyce the marveleus view.this is a must visit if you are in Blanes. The castle stands at the top of the mountain of the same name at 172 metres, offering a magnificent view of the whole of Blanes and the neighbouring villages. The structure of the castle consists of a cylindrical tower of 15 metres surrounded by a moat and a rectangular walled area. Documented as early as 1002, it was called Forcadell. It was clearly designed to defend the Viscounty town from the dangers that arrived by sea

Castle is a pretty exuberant term, but I recommend this place as an excellent vantage point (360). Beautiful panorama over the whole of Blanes.

Great views of Blanes. It is a small castle and not much to see of it but the views from there are amazing. No toilet. Only 5 car parking spaces and not much room to turn around the car.

First of, the drive to this location was phenomenal. If you enjoy winding, tight roads this was perfect. The coastal and city views that pop up along the drive up are incredible and breath taking. The site itself is gorgeous. Well maintained and clean, this site offers amazing views of the marina and beach front below as well as a great view over the city proper. The stairways and landings provide great photo spots for those seeking Instagramesque pictures as well as the professional photography. The view from the top landing is a 360 perspective unmatched anywhere else in the city. Go and enjoy this spectacular spot.

Beautiful views all around of the mountains, city and beach. Peaceful hangout spot and cool photoshoot spot as well. Can also have a nice hike up there with beautiful views and houses along the way if you like to hike.

Highly recommended to come by foot (or by bike/motorcycle) since there's no many parking place for cars (may be around 10 places available for cars). The view on the top of the castle is really breathtaking. It's really worth to come.

Tiny all-white chapel up the hill next to the remains of Sant Joan Castle. It interior is all decorated by a catalan known kids-book drawer/painter, Pilarín Bayés. Furthermore you can enjoy the spectacular views from Blanes and the rugged costa brava. Hiking up from Blanes through a series of stairs up the hill is highly recommended!

The view is definitely worth going up the hill. The shortest way from Blanes is marked with white and red colours (on walls etc.) and you have to go up many steep stairs.

View is the best part of it. There is also a little chapel but it was closed when we were there. Free parking.

Beautiful landscape. We have walked street, but there are stairs too and it's faster.

À wonderful panorama on Blanes and the see. It a speed sightseeing because you don't really spend time on the site, but you have to visite it for the landscape and take photos, lot of photos.

This is a lovely place that offers a wonderful view of the surroundings, you can easily climb on foot, but it is better in the evening or early in the morning so that it is not hot
