I
would
like
to
get
the
main
gripe
out
of
the
way
1st.
This
hotel
is
NOT
actually
in
Blanes.
It's
around
a
mile
away
to
Blanes.
It's
the
area
called
S'Abanell
where
the
hotel
is
located,
so
if
they
say
a
short
walk
to
the
centre
of
vlubs,
bars
discos,
etc,
around
a
20-minute
walk
at
pace.
Well,
what
can
I
say?
When
we
first
arrived
and
went
into
our
room,
my
heart
sank.
It's
like
walking
back
into
1981
with
the
choice
of
decor
and
colours.
Our
double
bed
was
2
singles
pushed
together,
even
the
bedding
was
single
sheets,
etc.
There's
no
hot
drink
making
facilities
and
just
a
single
plug
socket.
If
you're
planning
on
staying
here,
then
take
a
trail
extension
lead.
In
this
digital
tech
hungry
world,
1
plug
will
not
suffice.
The
chunky
key
fits
into
the
box,
so
the
lights
work,
but
this
didn't
actually
work,
especially
if
1
went
out
needing
the
key.
TOP
TIP.
USE
A
FOLDED
CARD
IN
THE
SLOT,
IT
STAYS
THERE
ALL
THE
TIME
(SEE
PHOTOS)
The
TV
doesn't
have
a
single
English
speaking
channel,
so
that's
a
write-off,
not
even
bbc
news!
The
hotel
itself
is
clean
and
gas
a
basic
functional
purpose.
Is
it
a
dreamy
holiday
location
full
of
style,
charm,
and
luxury?
Nope,
not
even
close.
However,
you
certainly
didn't
pay
for
that.
Did
you?
You,
like
me,
went
budget!
It's
that
but
it's
clean,
the
staff
are
absolutely
amazing.
The
restaurant
staff
can
not
be
praised
highly
enough.
They
are
like
crazy
busy
worker
ants
taking
away
plates
and
constantly
replenishing
the
food.
There
is
a
coffee
machine
with
plenty
of
choice
but
this
is
breakfast
only!
For
lunch
and
dinner,
your
ONLY
choice
is
water!
Also,
with
lunch
and
dinner,
there's
no
butter
either,
just
odd.
Most
of
the
staff
sadly
do
not
speak
good
English,
but
then
again,
my
Catalan
is
equally
as
poor.
This
was
a
challenge
when
required
items
or
food
information
wasn't
listed.
The
pool
is
tiny,
and
the
separate
children's
pool
they
advertise,
it's
that
tiny
semicircular
bit
at
the
side
of
the
pool!
There's
a
bar
selling
an
assortment
of
hot
and
cold
drinks,
a
gaming
room
with
2
pool
tables,
and
an
air
hockey
game,
too.
This
area
was
very
run
down,
and
I'd
imagine
in
season
would
be
mad
busy.
One
night,
there
was
a
teen
disco
in
the
main
bar
area,
100
screaming
shouting,
drinking
teens,
joy....
Overall,
would
I
go
back,
probably
not?
However,
would
I
recommend
it,
without
doubt.
Aim
your
expectations
low,
and
you
won't
be
disappointed.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
it's
a
budget
3
star
hotel
in
a
great
location.
