One of the best museums I've visited lately. Not only are the pieces well presented, the building in itself is a beautiful place to visit. The ticket with a student discount cost about 5€ so definitely worth a visit. The top floor has a more chronological order to the things excavated around Girona, with loads of information. It is the main building/basilic that I found interesting. The cluster is also a peaceful place to take a pause at during the visit.

Free on some Tuesdays! The collection is OK, but there is a lot of empty space that could be used.

The location is superb, a romanic Monastir, with its cloister and all. The big nave of the church is occupied by a wonderful display of 50ish items from paleolitic to high Middle Age. The displays are also technologically wonderful with light and mirrors that let the item appear and disappear... After the appetizer, the main dishes are in the rooms of the monastery, in every detail. You can have, for 10 or 12 euros, a cumulative ticket to visit free all the other 4 sites of the archeological network of Catalunya (i visited also Barcelona arc. Museum and Empuries, greek and roman cities, but there are other two sites i forgot)

Very pretty building on the outside, but very little to see on the inside. Some building design elements on display, not worth the money.

Parenthesis: the site is awesome. This place has not the best relic collection, not even close, but is excellent to show kids the evolution of man kind starting from the Paleolithic all the way to the Roman Empire. It focuses on the region, but the concepts very well apply to all Western Europe.

Wonderful layout for the history. Great way to get to know the roots and the struggles of this country. Feel so sad about their persecution through so many centuries until the death of Franco relatively recently they have a kind of peace. I’m inspired to learn Catalonian. Hang your independence flag high!!

😠 I don't know why people say this is a beautiful place worth visiting! This is just a metal bridge (for pedestrians), nothing more than that. Even though it was made by the guy who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris; guess because of that.
