We paid 7 euros, and it was definitely the best 7 euros spent in a long time! Fascinating site still undergoing excavation. There are plenty of details around the Greek site, but not as much on the Roman site. You could easily spend a day there. Take plenty of water and sunscreen as you will be outside with little shade for the majority of the time. The indoor exhibition was closed for refurbishment on our visit, but they had put some of the better finds in a small room below.

We really enjoyed our visit. Good value for money, plenty of information, and shady benches to rest on.

A really impressive archaeological site. Greek & Roman cities dating back to 600 BC with a backdrop of the azure sea through pine trees. €6pp incl audio guide.

Sehr interessanter Ort. Man bekommt ein Gerät, über das man an einzelnen Stationen gesprochene Information zum gesehenen bekommt. Für Kinder gibt es sogar eine eigene Geschichte mit weniger Fakten aber toll erzählt. Ausreichend Getränke sollte man mitnehmen. Es gibt nur wenige Schattenplätze, was dem Ort ansich geschuldet ist.

This is an incredible place with both Greek and Roman ruins. The history is shared through the audio guide and makes you feel like you are entering the time of the Greeks. The mosaics in the Roman city are not to be missed.

Brilliant Find overall. A bit tricky to find using GPS Or Google. Used road markings to reach the place. Great spot, next to sea beach. Many people went to sea beach as well using the same parking as the site. 2 big parking available. The site entry is 5 euros or so. Kids free. Free voice headsets. The explanations (voice guidance) is available in many languages. If you really want to know and learn and hear each set of voice message it will take you an hour or so just for greek part them similar for Roman part. A bit hard to do when it is too sunny as there is no shade once you enter the main site. One ice cream van at the entry ( inside). Overall great place for history lovers.

If you like to be in the ruins of an old city under a ruthless sun this is your place: you have the ruins of the greek city and the ruins of the roman city. It's a unique combo. The good news is that a Splash in the sea is 3 minutes away... The museum at the moment is 90% close due to work in progress. The only room left open has some nice remains, also from neolithic age.

Beautiful location! Super friendly staff! A must see if you’re in the area. I have difficulty walking but was given a wheelchair to get around. Not completely wheelchair friendly as expected as it is an old historical site but for me just perfect. Definitely recommend this place.

Very nice place, ruins by the sea of Ancient Greek (the only one in Spain ) and Roman city. Not many pieces in the Museum to see

Incredible ruins of Greek and Roman era. Very well preserved. The audio guide was excellent, apart from historical facts it mixes it with some story telling which results in an amazing journey through the ruins. Really worth the cost (I found it cheep even). Be prepared to walk a bit, it was bigger than I was expecting, but worth every bit.

Last visited 10 years ago - the site has improved so much with more excavation completed. The English audio guide with commentary by Tony Robinson was informative and entertaining. Excellent value for money - 5 Euro for over 65s

Quite breathtaking. So much history preserved and sympathetically restored. So much to see! An extremely atmospheric site. Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic Roman & greek historic site with great facilities including luggage lockers, audio guide, small museum, Taverna, helpful friendly staff. Only €6 entry. Highly recommend a visit!

Very interesting. From childhood I have visited Roman for remains, and from around 30 visited many Greek and other sites. This one is in a beautiful parkland, especially interesting as it is how the people lived Greek old Town and adjacent Roman New town, and how they will have shared trade, wealth, etc. Not a military fortress as is the norm in the UK. 5 stars. just need bigger signs for audio visual display. Nearly missed that. But it was worth the 3 euros for 2 of us.

Just insanely incredible and the most perfect place to full on geek out over the ruins... The fact they have been actively working here for over 100 years and still only managed to uncover 20% of the site leaves so much to uncover and imagine!! Amazing couldn't give a higher recommendation

It is Roman and Greek Ancient city. Near the seaside. Different experience for the arkeolojical site.

Absolutley remarkable! For lovers of ancient history..Greek and Roman, this is an exciting find. Two ancient cities built side by side at different times during the beginnings of the Mediterranean settlement. Plus the location is stunningly beautiful. You get a real feeling of what life was like during those times.

Absolutely incredible ruins from both Greek and Roman period. Huge extent, some areas reconstructed to show you what they were like. Amazing survived mosaics. Must visit if in the area.

As the western most part of the Ancient Greek world, the timeline of this site runs from the Greek archaic period through to the time of the Visigoths, in the European ‘Dark Ages’. The majority of the site is made up of a Hellenistic settlement and a subsequent Roman one too.

The Ruïnes d'Empúries are a beautiful walk down history lane. A helpful audioguide tells interesting facts, for example how the Greek started their symposia. Two small musea present well preserved archaeological finds, such as jewellery, denarii and pottery. Make sure to bring a hat and sunglasses if you visit during summer, because there's not a lot of shade. Student discount is €4/pp instead of €6/pp. Children under the age of 16 are free.

The strongest moment of our costa brava visit you could almost see the city alive again with our massive towers, city walls, large forums. Incredible!

The setting is beautiful - right next to the sea. The audio guide was a bit too long winded for me so I didn't use it. But the signs provided enough information and we enjoyed our visit immensely. The mosaic floors in the Roman section are awesome. This is well worth a visit.

Be sure to use the narrated electronic wand. Watch the movie first in the theater Music, stories, and history make the ruins come alive.

👍 Beach located in the coastal center of Sant Marti d'Empuries, bordering Riuet beach. 👍👍 The Greeks entered the peninsula through Empurias, and they liked it so much that they stayed there for a long time. Then the Romans arrived and, apparently, they also felt very comfortable there. Thanks to this, today there are interesting archaeological sites from both civilizations in this corner...
