The museum itself is quite small and there’s not so much to see to be honest. But it was interesting anyway and the place is very beautiful and peaceful. But the real highlight is the cats. As an animal lover I was so happy. The cats are friendly and very cute. I could have stayed longer if I didn’t have a train to catch later.

We had a great time here. Spent about 45 minutes. I loved all the pictures and quotes of famous people and their cats. And who knew cats have been used in so many advertisements for just random stuff, like a clothes dryer. We saw at least 2 cats roaming around and they were both very sweet and friendly. Gift shop has a lot of posters and books, it's not gimmicky at all.

A quaint cozy museum dedicated to artwork with cats. Don't expect any big names here but actual furry friends :) saw 3 kitties just laying around. This is an experience you don't get anywhere else. The entrance fee is reasonable as well. It's quite small so you can do this under an hour

This place was so adorable! Had some really great art work around the museum and a couple of cats walking around too🥰 Really recommended coming here if you’re in Amsterdam! Little gift shop too with some cat themed merchandise. So cute! I booked my tickets online.

You gotta admire the person who wakes up one day and decides to turn their home into a tribute to cats... The surprises and smiles don't stop, right to the end. If you like cats.

This private museum showcases art about cats (paintings, photographs and sketches). There are supposedly a few cats roaming free in the house, but I only saw two and one of them wasn't in the mood for humans. Oh well. It's a nice visit, but I'm not sure it's worth the 10 Euro entrance fee. When I visited, the terrace was closed (rainy day), and the top floor was closed off as well. In total, there were about 3 rooms available to me. They're big, but still.

Small museum but well worth visiting if you’re a cat lover. I ended up staying for about half an hour but you could take more or less time depending on how much time you spend checking out the artwork (or petting the museum’s cats)

Really enjoyed this museum, it’s €10 for an adult, very fun and cheerful museum, lovely garden to sit in and four lovely cats, and a few chickens, hanging around. There are 3 main exhibition rooms and a garden, they have a remembrant and a Picasso. Overall took me about 45mins.

This place is a gem! If you love cats, this is the place where you can checkout an entire floor with cat art and even pet the residents. Really interesting, the cats made my day.

Ok, so when have you ever been to a museum dedicated to cats in art? Probably never. Which makes this small museum great. It's only a couple rooms, but it's stuffed with pictures, paintings, statues and more displays of cats. There's even several real cats that may let you pet them! My favorite cat art of all time is here, a painting from nearly 2 centuries ago of a giant cat menacing a market like Godzilla. True art.

Lovely museum filled with cat related art and vintage adverts. There are also a few resident cats that spend their day chilling in this huge former private home. The staff, both human and feline, are very kind and nice. I highly recommend any cat enthusiast to visit this place.

You have to go there when visiting Amsterdam. This place is so unique - every corner has something cool or unexpected. The place/ furniture is absolutely stunning - you could easily shoot a movie there! all art, sculptures and paintings show cats. If you are lucky/ pay attention, you might meet the residents of the house - yap, I am talking about cats! We also had the opportunity to visit the garden, more ar - more cats! I am in love! tickets can be purchased on site, we didn’t wait. the shop is great! DO NOT MISS THIS!

Surrounded by cat inspired art, this quirky little space is worth a visit if you love cats 🐱 and we spotted 2 actual cats just chilling in there too. I liked it. 10 euros per adult ticket. Really wished there would be cuter merchandise at the gifts store though.

This is such a unique and lovely little museum! If you love cats, it’s a must-see! And if you don’t like cats, you probably will after seeing all the neat cat-themed art and meeting the museum’s feline residents. It’s in a historic house, which adds to the ambiance. Will definitely visit again when we are in Amsterdam next!

Quirky museum experience for cat lovers, they have a variety of cat themed art, sculptures, photographs, posters, poems and ads from all over the world in different times. Lots of interesting history and information about the displays and museum itself. The museum isn’t very large but there’s more than enough content and the entry fee is very fair. There’s also a lovely gift shop to browse and stock on cat merch I really enjoyed my time here and recommend to any cat lovers

An incredible place for a rainy day! The cats were beautiful, and this museum was excellent. I paid 15 euros for admission, and spent another 5 euros on a book as a gift. Frankly, there wasn’t too much to see, but I still gladly spent 30 minutes pacing through the rooms and reading the captions on the paintings.

This is a great little museum if you are into cats and art. I especially liked the photography display (who knew Lenin was a cat guy?). I also loved the painting from the French cabaret which had a black feline doing a bit of a Godzilla impersonation except the painting predates Godzilla by at least 60 years. The house itself is also very interesting and the live feline "staff" were an added bonus. I think this was my favorite museum in Amsterdam.

Such a cute place full of cat memorabilia and quite surprisingly, some epic art! For cat lovers, the shop is great too. This is not a cat cafe (for those who came and left silly reviews about not seeing enough and/or friendly ones). If there are real cats, it’s a bonus and totally their own choice if they want to be petted 😻🫶🏽

Was very happy I found out about this place and went. They were a small museum but jam packed with a broad range of beautiful art pieces from vases, paintings, sculptures and even a mummy. There was also a very sweet memorial for those gone on to kitty heaven. Saw 3 cats sleeping peacefully. The house itself was beautifully decorated, and the garden looked cute, but it was too cold to go outside. Would definitely go again.

We had so much fun here! My partner and I love cats and this was the cutest and most fun museum we had been to. The museum really exceeded our expectations. Plus if you’re lucky you’ll get to pet all the kitties!

I saw the store front for Cat Cabinet when I was on a boat tour and saved the location to come back, and this cat lady is so glad she did! You don't need much time here but every nook and cranny is full of super cute cat art of all kinds. It is very unique and of course there are real cats wandering around.

A small but interesting museum. Spent around 30 minutes here with my 10 year old son. Lots to look at! Gift shop is great too. Didn't see any live cats though.

Cute but very small and not worth €10 a ticket. I went just after it opened at 12pm and there no line or anything. It’s one floor of artwork and cat themed goods/statues. The outdoor area was closed off in the winter. There were 2 cats inside at the time, one white with a black spots who was super friendly. The other, a white one with a black tail who jumped up on me and unprovokingly dug its claws into my thigh (ripping my tights) while sitting and reading information on the tablet device. Small gift shop which sold cool posters, books and souvenirs but slightly expensive (as to be expected). It only took me around 30/40 minutes to look around and read all the information.

such an adorable little place! it’s rather tiny so it didn’t take us long, however i would still completely recommend a visit. lots of cat related items, all very unique, and even some cats to pet!! staff were lovely to chat too aswell.

We were a little disappointed with our visit. The admission seems high for what they have to offer. We spent less than 15 minutes inside (including giving the fur babies lots of pets). The shop was cute but we didn’t purchase anything. It might be better to visit in the spring/summer because there is an outside portion that was closed during our visit.

Cute Quirky shop and museum hidden along the canals of Amsterdam! The elegant and gilded rooms have as much history and beauty as the art and artifacts they display. This museum is purrfect to pet resident cats, view art collections, and shop for that one feline-obsessed friend! 10/10 would visit again!

Beautiful museum with lots of paintings, drawings sculptures of cats. Museum is one floor with 3 rooms in a terraced house and the garden. Has a few resident cats. Museum relatively expensive for the size and quality of work but if a cat lover would recommend a visit.

This is such a cute place! Everything is cat themed and there are even 2 real cats walking around. The interior and the art itself are also really delightful.

It's a tiny museum. But its incredibly cute and fun for cat lovers. The rooms are smalls with lots of objects and paintings. Wish there were more explanations and presentations.

A cute little museum dedicated to cats in art in honor of red tomcat John Pierpoint. Lots of paintings, pictures, other art involving cats, and 4 cats that roam around. There's also a nice garden in the back. I didn't see any real history about the place outside of the description of the museum online. I would have liked to learnt more about the origins.

A wonderful place to visit. Tranquil outdoor space and amazing beautiful indoor space that would be worth the admission on its own merit, but then you have all the cat related fun of the art and other objects devoted to the glory of the cat. AND, to top it off there are a few friendly cats there to remind everyone that they are worth the praise and devotion. Loved this unexpected treasure.

Disclaimer: pet the cats at your own risk (I was scratched by one of them). Besides that, it is a museum of cat photography and feline sculptures and art works. There isn't necessarily a narrative to follow in this museum, it's more like a place with cat-related art, fashioned in an almost royal manner, i suppose. The whole place could be explored within... 20 min. There were 2 cats when we visited (5 Feb 23). Nothing else too memorable Visit it to see how it's like, and keep expectations low :)

Beautifully quirky!! The best place to go in Amsterdam for cat lovers. The collection of art is so unique and pretty, and the history of the house is interesting too! The best bit is definitely the cats who live there- they really add to the experience and made us laugh with their antics.

Really cool little museum! Only spent about half an hour here but still think it's worth it. It's such a niche collection of items and it's cool to feel like you're just walking through a collector's house. We also got to meet and pet two real cats who were just hanging out. Unfortunately, the back garden exhibits are only open on nice summer days so we didnt get to see them, but the inside was a lot of fun.

  • 5/5 Anastasija D. 1 year ago on Google
It’s not a big museum. But if you’re a cat person and love cats in art and everywhere , I think you will enjoy this place. Also, there 4 real cat there. Bit of a warning: be mindful of cats mood. They may not want to be touched.

Great collection of cat art, photography, sculptures and advertisements. At least two cozy cats make their home here and may approach you if you are lucky.

Best and most bizarre museum I ever visited, extra points for having cats who liked to be petted

  • 5/5 Кирилл 2 years ago on Google
We were lucky enough to meet one of the cats lying at the window so it's already 5/5 But in general, it's a nice little museum with lots of posters/ads/other things about cats. The most interesting thing is we were told there's a total of 4 (!) cats living there and the museum itself is owned by the people who live in the same building. Great place for a short visit!

  • 5/5 Osco M. 2 years ago on Google
Very small museum. Exhibition is not so "wow" but can se old canal building with beautiful interior. And cute cats are walking everywhere.

A very lovely little museum dedicated to cats! If you are a cat lover you can't miss this! Rooms have a wide array art related to our feline friends. You can even seem some cats roaming around! We found them nestled in the corner of the gift shop, looking for people to give them a friendly pet. Overall 5* hosts were lovely!
