The temple is very good.. Waiting time is usually very long.. Negative point is Local pandas. They are eagerly waiting for you to spend some money on them. Limited VIP pass system at desk.. so reach early or else pay to any panda, they will arrange VIP pass for you.. keep sufficient cash with you.. No UPI facility for VIP pass payment. I recommend online booking.. The overall atmosphere of the temple is very good..

The temple is extremely famous and a must visit if you are in Guwahati. Book your tickets online in advance as there is a huge queue that you need to cross. VIP ticket holders also need to wait fir approximately 4-5 hours. If you wish to go in general line, please be mentally prepared to be in queue for 10-12 hours atleast. You get token in temple at 6 AM, 12 PM and 4 PM.

Visited the Maa Kamakhya Temple a few days ago and had a truly memorable experience. We took a bus from the base of the hill to reach the temple at the top — the fare is just ₹10 and the service starts at 7:15 AM. Buses are regular and a budget-friendly option. If you plan to go earlier than that, autos are also available with fares ranging from ₹20 to ₹50 per head. Once at the top, the area is bustling with activity. There are numerous shops selling puja samagri, places to safely keep your shoes, and various other local items. Very convenient and well-organized. There are two options for offering puja: 1. Main Temple Puja – Requires standing in the general queue which starts forming around 5 AM. Entry closes by 9 AM, so the earlier you reach, the better. 2. Outer Premise Puja – A more relaxed option, no queue needed, and still spiritually fulfilling. The atmosphere around the temple is peaceful and spiritually uplifting. They also provide free bhog from 2 PM to 4 PM. You’ll need to collect a coupon in advance, which involves standing in a separate line for 1–2 hours. Return journey is the same — bus and auto options are available downhill too. Tip: The nearest railway station is Kamakhya Station, which makes this place easily accessible. Overall, a must-visit spiritual destination — serene, well-managed, and deeply divine.

Enchanting temple with a lot of mystery and intrigue. Very powerful Goddess and its really a wonderful experience to be in the temple. Engaging a panda or priest would get you a Rs 501/ ticket without standing in the line but at double the price. Waiting time is 4 to 5 hrs on weekends.

I would like to give 5 stars for the goddess. The divine vibe is great. But the temple premises and people over there, including the pandits, i want to give negative rating. Plan your visit for atleast 2-3 days if you want proper darshan. Either book the tickets for special darshan online, or stay in queue from midnight itself. Dont believe if people say go in the queue from 5 am and all. If you are going with family and kids, try to stay overnight in the queue and sleep there itself, or else you have to stay for a long long time in the queue. Each day differs, people say multiple stories about the darshan, but dont believe anything. Dont believe those pandas/pandits, they charge so much and dont even take you inside the main temple premises. You can get that same darshan from gate number 2 directly also, free of charge, why to pay them. Visit the ganapathi idol and many believe that placing a coin on the idol will fulfil your wishes. Overall maa kamakhya is a very powerful tantric goddess, but the temple management and locals are very horrible.

A highly revered pilgrimage. I didn't have the time to wait to get in the garbhgriha of the main shrine. But it was worth even visiting the temple complex. Very colourful and vibrant place with a great view of Guwahati

Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, is a very powerful and peaceful place. It is on Nilachal Hill with beautiful views. Darshan usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and the line moves slowly but is manageable. Mukh darshan can be much quicker. Parking is available but it is crowded. There are many small shops near the temple. Cleanliness around the area can be better, but inside the temple, it feels very positive and pure. Overall, visiting Maa Kamakhya was a very special and blessed experience.

Kamarupa ("form of desire") is d region in which d yoni ("vulva," "womb," or "source") is said to have fallen to earth & the Kamakhya temple was said to hv been constructed on this spot.
