Excellent free gallery in Malmö in a former electricity plant with possibly the most orange cafe and shop I've encountered! The large downstairs space had an excellent Rosemarie Trockel exhibition whilst the first floor gallery had a photographic exhibition. Popular with families and tourists and a good way to spend an hour.

Modern art museum in Malmö. Very interesting place. Recommend for students, artists and etc. Free admission! There are good exhibitions, interesting installations, sometimes very strange ))) I was very confused and surprised when I see booklets and noted not only on English and Swedish languages, but also on Arabic.. . So. Take a breath and enjoy!

A small museum of modern art with free entry in the centre of Malmo. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It's worth popping in for a look at the ever changing exhibitions.

For me like for artists person , its really nice museum for spending 3-4 hours , they have only 2 floor but anyway its so nice . Also the idea with box where you can leave your clothes so nice with artists names. Recommend to visit , they have free entrance for people to18 years old, and for Ukrainian people who have temporary permit card.( Info from 10.06.23) .

Very nice exhibition with Andy Warhol! They also had other exhibitions that was pretty okay but I was so chocked that the museum was SO SMALL. You can easily go through in 20 min and read every single text. Disappointed because I wanted to see more..

I participated to a baby painting session together with my toddler. We had a Fantastic time there and the educator was great! Everything was thought through to give maximum freedom and possibility of interactions to kids. I also tried their café and enjoyed a nut-based mini tart, delicious. The exhibition space is rather limited but always interesting. This museum is the smaller brother of the Moderna museum in Stockholm, but it has its own style and vibes.

My favourite museum in Malmö! Today it’s the “Man with the blue face” exhibition so it’s super long queue from Saturday afternoon. We waited for 30 minutes outside to get in but certainly worth the waiting. The paintings were made from almost 100 years ago when there’s no smart phone or video streaming to tell stories but the paintings can still tell your emotions so perfectly. I think that’s why we still need art in nowadays life.

Great modern art museum with free entrance. The exhibition isn't particularly large, but very interesting. There is a souvenir shop and a great little café on the ground floor. There are free lockers available, as well as free, clean toilets.

I love museum and their cafes. A cafe here was a nice place to hang out. They have everything you need. Food, dessert and drinks. Also the shop is interesting too! The exhibition was ready just one room but because this is a small version of the Stockholm one so just enjoy it. Talked to the staff their and she shared a lot interesting stories about Malmö city. 💫

Wonderful! It’s tiny but super well curated. And great talks. Highly recommend.

Pay attention, the collection is shared with the Moderna Museum in Stockholm wich is much bigger, that means that this Museum has only a small part of the whole collection and the main artists are normally exposed in Stockholm. I'm really disappointed because it's not clear what you are paying to see

The entrance was free and the exhibitions were interesting :) Of course as it sometimes happens with modern arts you don’t always understand some artworks but that’s not about the museum, that’s about my personal taste. We saw some awesome photographic works there, there were not many people so the museum tour was comfortable. There is also a nice shop and convenient lockers.

I have LOVED this place from the very beginning! Excellent exhibitions of internationally important artists, e.g. Luc Tuymans, Tala Madani, Hilma af Klint etc etc etc. + Point for Rauschenberg's goat living there! This glowing review was written by Katarina Forss, a Royal Academy School's graduate & former staff member of the RA in London, who's hyper critical of the Art establishment. I will shortly be submitting my application for the post of Art Educator [transl. Konstpedagog] at the fine establishment that is Moderna Museet - Malmö.

The experience was nice, exhibitions are well organized and interesting. Lotte Laserstein exhibition is very nice and has such a comfortable atmosphere. I liked that the clothes and personal belongings lockers were named by specific artists, that was very interesting and unique aswell. Navigation through exhibitions is pretty simple and clear, there are only 2 floors in the museum but it is something worth visiting! Store is also nice, it has fair prices and nice things you could buy for yourself or as a gift! All in all, extremely positive experience.

Nice layout and at time of visiting the bottom floor was paintings by one artist and top floor were sculptures by another. The sculptures were not to my personal taste but I imagine if you love your art and don’t find some things pretentious, you will likely enjoy it. End of the day, people were friendly, there’s a cafe and the price was cheap (£3.50) so the rest comes down to taste.

We had the opportunity to see 10 paintings of an unknown artist. We finished the exhibition faster than putting our bags in the lockers. We expected something more from this museum, we left disappointed.

The staff are very knowledgeable and their activities for children are very well planned. Their restaurant ( It has been a few years since I was there) had some really good food, their home baked bread and homemade soup was to die for. And their carrot cake was a bit of heaven.

This is not a children friendly place. We did not feel welcomed and the personal was rather rude against us. Don’t take your children with you if you don’t want to ruin your day. I have already filled the form at your website in detail. Basically the personal wanted my 20 months old silent when we tried to watch a video installation and warned my 8 years old since she touched a pencil while we were sitting at the cafe. We were offended, stressed and felt really bad. I am sorry...Please read the detailed claim I sent through your website because I really think that the personal should behave better than that especially to mother with young children. This is not the case when you are coming with your partner to the gallery and look at the art silently. In case children has to be so silent at your place is required, I think you should put limit for the visitors age. I truly understand the need to monitor children not to touch artworks. But how a 20 months old can be silent during a 30 minutes visit? I ask to the person sitting att the ticket office if he have a family and what they do when they visit a museum are the kids all the silent? He said when he goes he does his best..as if we dont...I see it as a very problematic and exclusive approach.

Every time I had the opportunity for an hour I was wondering if anyone can be used to be mind controlled Vel Conditioned So good artwork now available So precise description of what is happening with Android market of modern slaves. So private conspiracy. .... Licences At least one in my life. MySpace account of my own, in fact that it will take a while to find the contact data, the first place to find the contact data.

Nothing says modern art, more than a dirty piece of cloth in a frame. I thought the main photography exhibition was excellent, and well worth visiting. Museum was spacious and I loved the ceiling too. Free to get in - if you are in Malmo then it is very worth 30+ minutes of your life.

Very nice experience at the Moderna Museet in Malmö. Smaller than the one in Stockholm but beautiful collections.

Small modern art museum with interesting exhibitions. Plus sides: beautiful building, free entrance, free lockers for keeping coats and hats. Could be improved: not much seating throughout the exhibitions and not that much information on the pieces themselves. Maybe audio guides and/or more proactive staff would be interesting. I guess that if we had booked a guided tour it would probably have been better :) All in all a great experience!

A really cool place to visit for people who enjoy all kind of art. Free to enter and guaranteed great experience;)

I really enjoyed the experience at Moderna Museet. Great exhibition but I was hoping to see more. Unluckily the museum isn't too big so when you find something that you like time goes by too quickly and the things to see end as well. Anyway if you like art deserves a visit. Free entry and free cloakroom.
