Disastrous, old rooms with squeaky beds and filthy carpet. The staff had no sense of service. The breakfast was absolutely nothing to brag about, worse than a standard hotel breakfast. Don't understand all those 5 star reviews the hotel has received, probably people who don't know any better. The worst hotel stay I have had. Don't believe the hype, I do not recommend this hotel.

A boutique hotel in Malmö City, perfectly located for a weekend to see the town and neraby Copenhagen. Great ambiance, you check in at the bar(!) where they have spectacular cocktails. The restaurant in the winter garden is fab, also fab is the Chambre Separée where you can have a private party and private bar upon request and a fee of course. Rooms are small but confy with a bit of burlesk type of interior design.

Super cool and beautiful hotel in the centre of Malmö “Gamla Staden” where everything is within walking distance. This area is clean, safe and busy with nice restaurants and turist stuff. We had a fast check-in with the very nice front desk staff and were appointed an amazing 1-bedroom. We had booked directly with the hotel. The interieur is funky, clean and has a nice quality feeling. Furniture, curtains, closet and especially bathroon, everything very nice and felt well maintained. First time at this hotel and we really love it and already look forward comming back. The friendly staff made everything even better, Emma from the front desk was superb, thank you!

Our room seemed a bit dated with the rest of the hotel, especially the bathroom, but it was so spacious and the bed was super comfortable! The hotel is beautiful the food and drinks were delicious, would definitely love to stay again!

good service, good music, loved the rooms and the decor was everything for me. Staying in the middle of malmö gives opportuninty for touring around amaizing historical sites. Also walking distance to the train station which is perfect for travelers. Affordable prices as well.

Was visiting a friend who stayed there. The room was beautiful and the location is in a perfect spot in order to get to get alot out of malmö city. As i was not staying there myself, i do not know about the service.

This hotel does not respect its climate and environmental engagements . The towels are changed every day (even if we asked in reception explicitly this not to be done) and the temperature in the rooms is around 25C during the nights .

The restaurant here is absolutely exceptional. We had an evening meal here and enjoyed cocktails, wine and shared small plates. It was absolutely amazing. The food was perfect and the drinks were too. Service was impeccable. The setting was amazing, we sat in the courtyard as it went dark. It was beautiful.

Nice and cozy hotel, mostly known for its weekend brunch offers. The ambience is lovely, especially the restaurant area. Great weekday lunch menu, prompt and polite staff. Overall, it's highly recommended when visiting Malmö's Old Town district👍👌

I didn't stay at the hotel, but tried the brunch in the restaurant. The food was ok, but the website gives you one menu and when you get there they tell you that the website is wrong and it is a known issue, which I don't think is nice for a place like this and with such selected options. I think the food was overpriced for what it was, but it was delicious and the staff was very nice. The cocktails were also nice, although they list garnish as it were a part of the drink, e.g. rosemary as a decoration on top of the drink and not in it.

Hotel was upper tier, cosy with really nice interior decorating, nice and somewhat different breakfast and excellent drinks in the evening. I would say this place suits mid thirties party people :) Pretty good AW and late night party going on in the bar the night that we stayed (+own DJ). If you want peace and quiet, this will not be the place for you, at least not during the weekend as the sound from the music/bar really travels into the hotel rooms also.

We just ate at the hotel restaurant, didn't stay at the hotel. Creative, tasty and filling vegetarian menu, great staff, amazing experience overall. Recommended for anyone in Malmö! (especially vegetarians)

Contemporary boutique hotel in the heart of Malmö. One of its kind in the area. Friendly staff, great breakfast, close to everything thats interesting. Would not bring our kids. Both for our own sake, and for other guests. (did not see a single soul under the age of 18)

I had a reservation in this hotel for an entire weekend, and at arrival i did pay in forward to have everything sorted out. when receiving my receipt it only said "stay for 1 night". I asked kindly the lady at the reception if there was a mistake, and she did confirm, that i did pay for the entire weekend. Since my partner did not have the time to come with me, i had a bigger room, which I was transfered from after 2 days of stay to a smaller one, since the hotel needed a bigger room for other guests. On the last day, when checking out, another lady at the reception told me, that there was still a payment open, which I wasn't expecting. Another lady was called in and she confirmed me, that there is nothing else to pay from my side and that I could leave without any issues. (I should have asked for a written statement, for proof) Well these issues appeared after 2 days via mail, with an open payment for the stay. I was shocked and disappointed for all the different statements that were made during my stay. The hotel in total is easy to find and close to public transport. It has a very creative aesthetic and the staff is also very friendly and helpful (with the only exception of my shocking payment). The beds are really comfortable and helped me to get some good rest. the Breakfast is very nice, but affords to be booked for the next morning since the hotel has limited seats. Over all, 4 Stars, but Service only 1 Star since they did mess up my reservations and forced me to pay, even thought i already did pay at the beginning.

Everything was pretty much flawless! From the friendly and helpful staff, to the aesthetic sound proofed room to the exceptional breakfast. I slept like a baby and it helped that the hotel was close to the central station since we were only staying one night (unfortunately, I wished we stayed longer!)

Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, spacious rooms and a great breakfast. Top location in the center of everything. Extra points for garage space with charging for EVs.

I’ve visited a lot of restaurants worldwide, sampling various tasting menus. The food here stood out for its quality, and the wine pairing was excellent. What’s more, it all came at exceptional value. I’d certainly travel back just to have this dining experience again.

Amazing vibes from this hotel! It just looks magnificent, Great Gatsby-style decorations with an indoor garden for breakfast/lunch!

Fun boutique hotel. Great vibe and the restaurant was really tasty. Loved the quirky and cheeky branding phrases on the hotel toiletries and stationary. The hallway music can be quite loud in the morning.

Is it a hotel? Is it a club? You could guess so! Very interesting hotel specially if you want to be inspired. We went for dinner and thinking to sleep there next time. Very nice mood, lobby look a like a club, nice food and atmosphere at the restaurant. Fresh food. What a discovery!

Great food in a wonderful setting, with multiple dishes for sharing. Only minus are the incredibly disappointing cocktails however..

The staff was friendly and the hotel had really nice vibes. The place is decorated so nicely too. The hotel bar didn’t have many options, the drinks I tasted were pretty good. The breakfast tray was amazing. All around a pretty good experience!

What a lovely experience! We had dinner in the restaurant, and as soon as we came in the building we regretted our choice of hotel. The restaurant resembles very much an Andalusian patio, with a glass ceiling letting a lot of natural light in, and lots of plants and green everywhere. We ordered (almost) everything in the menu (6 dishes in total, + desserts) and it was a great journey. Very well balanced recipes, great presentation, awesome combination of flavours... We loved it!!

Had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant with a friend... the menu is limited to one sublime main course of cucumber with mashed pea salad with warm salmon. Certainly enjoyed my lunch that came with side salad, bread and choice of tea or coffee. Loved the decor and great atmosphere for hangout with the girls!

One of my favorite Malmö restaurants. Very airy and light dining room serving excellent lunches and dinners. Classiest hotel breakfast in the city. Lunches and dinners great for personal or business visits. Always delighted - never disappointed.

A great hotel to stay in Malmö because of central location, design and food quality. It is decorated beautifully and the restaurant design is a particular treat for the eye; see photo. We had the tasting menu for dinner (part of our package stay) and some of the dishes served were amazing. We were surprised about just how tasty they were. The breakfast was really good too, lots of choice and excellent ingredients. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. There was a large carpet stain but it looked like it had been thoroughly cleaned, which for me is what matters and stains happen in life! We will definitely look to stay here again when we visit Malmö again, which is a lovely city to spend time in.

Excellent stay at this hotel! Make sure to book on their webpage to check their current deals. The hotel is perfectly located at the centre of Malmö and close to the central station. Breakfast was delicious and a cool location at their restaurant. You need to reserve a table a day in advance at the reception. Bed was very comfy, all clean and friendly staff. You get free water and coffee at the reception.

Our second hotel in the Ess group. We’ve been to Fyri in Hemsedal quite a few times. Wanted to explore something new. MJ’s is a unique hotel providing a young and happening atmosphere. Rooms are instagram friendly. Hotel had many cool details. Breakfast buffet could be better, but not enough to dismiss the hotel. Location is amazing - in the midst of Malmö. Would I return? For sure.

Unique hotel wuth interesting design interior. Upon entering you come directly in the lounge, bar and reception area which was quite lifeky in the evenibg we arrived. The checking fast fast and efficient. The rooms are quite large and with on interesting decor. Also the bathroom was a good size, but the barh was a bit squeezed in a corner. The beds were very comfortable. We were sleeping on the ground floor anx would have preferred to open the windows for fresh air, but we did not ferl comfortable doing so as they were on the walking street side. The breaskfast was served in a large patio area, and there was a large food offering on display, including caterings for persons with allergies and dieets. Really pleasant to have breakfast here. Overall we had a good stay here.

This is a charming hotel, and i really want to like it, i just cannot. We enter our room, which is unbearably steaming hot despite it "only" being 22-24 degrees outside, we immediately proceed to the window, however opening them appears to be quite a challenge. We end up fighting with the doors to get them across the carpet and having to move a rather heavy armchair that is placed in the way of the window. The relief of finally opening the windows is substituted with the terror of a compressor humming loudly. Temperature was an issue during our entire stay. On our first evening when we got back to the room from dinner our room was buzzing with music from the bar area. Being above the bar area would not have been an issue if, the bar would close their 10+ windows or our room would have been better ventilated giving us the possibility to close our windows. After some time, we call the reception that tell us, that the bar was supposed to stop playing music at 20:00, which was 3h overdue. He promised to ensure that the bar closed their windows and turned down the music, however nothing happened for 45 minutes, then the windows of the bar where closed and later the music stopped.. The bathroom also did not offer a very relaxing experience. The flushing mechanism of the toilet was broken. After flushing it would continue to leak water into the toilet masking the noise of pipe and toilet flushing in the entire hotel room and bathroom. Hot water barely made it up to the bathroom sink. The bathtub was nice, however, sitting in the bathtub using the hand held shower part, the pipe leaked ice cold water at the same time. Bathroom is general was weirdly designed e.g. the towel rack was right above the toilet paper, booking access to toilet paper once the towel had been used, the soap holder in on the wall effectively blocked the ability for two people to be in the bathtub, the placement of bathroom products was strange. For me the only saving grace was that the bed is actually quite comfortable. We had taken a Large room because we wanted that extra comfort. However, sitting in the couch area at night-time was uncomfortable as the as the light Installation (2x2 unadjustable spotlight and a 5spotlight lamp though with adjustable settings) would bast you right in the eyes. The couch had a cigarette burn, the floor had several large bleach stains. In general, my feeling was, that this was once a nice hotel, however, being mismanaged and not maintained, thus offering low value for money. Final comment on the room, when i am in bed with my partner, i do prefer not to have a photo of a half naked asian lady with weird nipples just above the bed (just my personal opinion) In terms of cleaning, the bulk of it was quite fine, but that was coupled with smaller areas that were not. E.g. the bis bathroom mirror was clean, the two small additional mirrors the mirror in the cabinet were not. Having a velour sofa, one needs the remember they are unforgiving and NEEDS to be vacuumed. At some point i dropped something next to the bed, when i reach out for it i instead found a quite nasty hair elastic covered in dust and hair. Will i come back to the hotel, I do not think so. However, if i am in malmö again i will enjoy a glass from their springbank collection, which we unfortunately discovered half an hour before leaving.

This place has a lot of cheeky personality. Definitely was an old, luxurious place back in the day but an overhaul has made it nouveau-retro with a garnish of moxy. Morning buffet breakfast is splendidly generous including many dietary options accommodating both sweet and/or savory tastebud bents. Ask the bartender to help you try a new drink.

We tried their Sunday brunch and it was amazing. The service was good, friendly and smiley faces, the food was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious, I love the salted caramel espresso martini! I love the high ceiling and the front bar area looks so cozy with the fireplace and decoration. 10/10

Nice hotel, central. The bar is super hyped at weekends but mediocre drinks. Young kids working at the lobby not the common professional hotel standard. Hotel rooms are ok. No idea why there are photos of naked models everywhere in the rooms. Breakfast ist very good tho. Basically.. looks like a chic hotel, but is really more like a youth hostel service mentality
