Stayed in a nice little cottage that was pet friendly with a small fenced garden. We were greeted with some historic information about the farm. Gardens are beautifully kept. Asome views and great to stroll around on the farm. Homely cooked meals are available. Ideal place and venue for group bookings such as weekend retreats, craft workshops, yoga classes etc. The tranquility and peace of mind is balsam to the soul. The farm recently got new owners that have great visions for this gem.

What a great location. I will not get this view anywhere else. The service was great, very help and very welcoming. Pricing is excellent. Breakfast was generous. No cellphone signal but there is WiFi available in the sitting and dining rooms. We will come back. Thanks for the great hospitality Kim and staff.

It was a bit of a disappointment to stay here for two nights. The first night of our stay, we were in a little house where we had no electricity during loadshedding, and afterwards there was a huge storm which knocked out all the power to the farm which resulted in total darkness for the rest of the night too. They didn't provide any form of alternative lighting like candles or rechargeable lamps. Both houses we stayed in was not clean, and in both we found that the dishes and cutlery looks like it was washed in cold water, because they were definitely not clean. The linen on two of the beds were soiled and dirty, and we couldn't be sure if it was even changed after the previous tenants left. They should also definitely invest in new beds and mattresses, since all the beds we tried out and slept in, were uncomfortable bordering on horrible. We definitely didn't wake up in the morning well rested, and both myself and my wife got up with sore bodies in the morning. There are also no cellular phone reception on the farm, as well as almost no WiFi. The owners are relying on the historical fame of the guest farm to get bookings, but if they carry on managing the place like they currently do, I don't think they will exist for many years to come. The place looks a bit run down, and they need to make a huge effort to restore it back to it's former glory. Much more can be said about the place and our stay, but I think you should go there and judge for yourselves.

It was 3rd visit on Oban farm. Kim was always so kind to listen to our request as much as she could do. The dogs are so friendly and we took walk together with them on hiking. The food, dinner and breakfast that Steve prepared was so wonderful that the price is really worthy. i feel that it is far better than restaurants out there. Beautiful views...quiet ...we have a very low car but we manage to get there.

Some establishments tick all the boxes but just feel artificial. This place feels like a taste of Eden. Beautiful, relaxing, and an atmosphere filled with refreshing and peace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They went the extra mile. Everything in the homely accommodation was spotlessly clean and worked as it should, it was equipped with all the essentials and was very comfortable. The breakfast was also cooked to perfection, they offer dinners too. Overall an ideal stop en route to Margate but one where I would have loved to have spend a few more days.

What an amazing place. Our hosts went the extra mile without even being asked. We had a family gathering here over Xmas as it is about halfway between Jhb and Dbn and we couldn't have asked for a better setting. It is an old place with an air of calm history that you can feel as you drive in. Facilities are simple and clean. The food was great. There is no cell signal (which is awesome) but wifi is provided and you can get signal it you walk or drive to the top of the hill. It is a perfect little getaway spot or halfway rest point when doing the journey between Dbn and Jhb. I would make another trip here just to get away from life. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful. Unfortunately the true beauty of preserving our historical buildings has been lost by add on buildings over the years. It is how ever still a true gem. Warm friendly people. Wifi available but barely any phone reception. Food average. Couches and chairs needs a upgrade. Fixing the pool will be nice for those hot days. Really a unique piece of History to see.

If you want a break from it all then Oban is the place to go. It's rustic with charm. So much peace and quiet and time to de-stress. Nothing is too much trouble for Thea, the farm owner, who is beyond passionate about Oban. Milly's home style cooking in yummy. Some may see this as a negative, but to me it's a HUGE positive. There is no TV and no cell signal. Which is a great way to unwind from it all. If you are at the main house there is great WiFi. So it's not like you are totally cut off :-) The donkeys are my best.

Unplug, Absorb Peace and Tranquility. Enjoy the pure bliss of country farm style Accomodation, coupled with beautiful scenery, the echo of silence and the glazed night sky as the warm cottage fire lights your soul. Make this your HALFWAY STOP between JHB-DBN a few km of the N3 highway on a dirt road. Easy accessible by car or bakkie. Greeted by wandering geese, old oak trees and fresh county air. Large boulder rock hillside wraps and captivates your heart as the open valley view below steel your love.
