Most unpleasant experience of my life. The manager Janine is extremely rude and treated us like children. The food also was not great. We wanted to go on a boat ride (which is one of their big advertising points and also the only thing to do there) and we were told the owner is the only one who can take people on the boat and he was not there so that didn't happen. The pictures look good and the rooms look very nice at first glance but if you move anything you find dirt. The place is in serious need of maintenance. We were expecting a lovely romantic getaway which turned into a horrible weekend. Extremely overpriced for what you get as well. Stay away!

What an absolute amazing place. Peaceful, beautiful and homely. The hosts Trish, Jon, Scotty and Kayla really made us feel so welcome. Now, the food.... WOW! Absolutely out of this world. Thank you for an amazing weekend. We will be back :-)

Nice and really exclusive, hands on service and attention from owners and Kayla. Lovely dishes created by the chef and if you have special dietary requirements, the chef is most accommodating to cater to your taste. Highly recommended.

My Wife and I recently visited Wild Horses and had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely delicious (a definite highlight!) and the service was exceptional. Our room was clean, spacious and exactly like the pictures on the website. We were made to feel very special while still enjoying our privacy. A perfect romantic getaway!

Wow wow wow. What a stunning spot. We went here for a romantic weekend away and were not disappointed! The setting is sublime and the food delicious and the hospitality unrivaled. We lounged, read, kayaked, swam, went for runs and horse rode between delicious meals.

The scenery at Wild Horses Lodge is breath taking and the Sterkfontein dam is at close proximity. The staff is very friendly and professional. The chef is exceptional and Kayla is forever helpful.

The lodge is situated in a great slot with amazing views of the dam. The surrounding area is unspoilt and this adds to the privacy. The best thing about our trip was the amazing food prepared by Chef Marelise πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

A memorable experience from the time we arrived up until when we left, the best break in a long while with amazing food; attentive and very competent staff and an atmosphere you have to relax in. Trip Advisor does not do it justice when looking at reviews, it is absolutely amazing across the board.

What a stunning, therapeutic, rejuvenating 3 days. Found Wild Horses Lodge by chance. Everything about our experience was top drawer. The views of Sterkfontein dam are breathtaking, the lodge itself equally so. A special thanks to Kayla for looking after Tina and me from booking to departure, to Maria Elizabeth whose Danish pastries every morning and desserts every evening were simply superb, not to mention the numerous other delightful dishes she prepared. To Miriam, Benedict, and various other staff whose names we did not get but who each played their part in ensuring a memorable visit. Thank you, we will return to go fishing, horseriding, and even sailing as well. Warm regards Alex and Tina

What an experience! Wish we could stay longer. I would highly recommend this place to honey mooners, as it's very romantic and special. The food is sublime, complimentary sherry and chocs in our room after supper, all staff super friendly and efficient and personal attention from the owner. They even washed our car! I could go on and on - do put this place on your must visit list !

If I could rate it 10 stars I would. What an amazing place. Such a romantic and special getaway. We went there for our wedding anniversary and was spoilt beyond our imagination. The food was made with such attention to detail and tasted out of this world. We received such amazing service and all the staff was so friendly. We appreciate it so much. Thank you very very much.

I feel deeply saddened by the terrible experience I received from Wild Horses Lodge. My husband and I had our honeymoon there 9 years ago and for our anniversary went to Clarens for the weekend. Wanting to relive our honeymoon we thought of going through to Wild horses Lodge. I phoned and asked if we could come through. The staff member told me straight he'll find out and phone me back. 2 Min later he phoned and said there is no staff on sight. I told him that we didn't need service, and will come for a glass of champagne or wine which he can serve us. He was soooo rude and told me again NO! I told him we came all the way from Umhlanga and if we can just walk around and maybe take a few reminiscing photos. He told me that he doesn't care where we came from and just slammed the phone down in my ear! I was so shocked as especially after Lockdown these small businesses is batling. Clearly no Wild Horses Lodge! Terrible and I hope this guy gets a serious warning for the damage he has done. I will spread the word

What an amazing place. The owners and staff are just the best, wonderful people. If you like luxury and comfort this is the place to be. Food to die for they accommodate all your needs. My granddaughter got married there it was superb and a most memorable occasion. If there were 10 stars I would give them 10.

We stayed over during the Heritage Day weekend (24 September). The place is calm, quiet and relaxing. The mountain and dam views are really beautiful. We also spotted some horses and eland during our walks. The service at Wild Horses is amazing and personalized. The rooms are clean and comfy, the gardens and many sitting areas are beautiful and serene. We also went sailing on a real sail boat. The staff is friendly and helpful. Marelize is a magician in the kitchen and went out of her way to cater for dietary requirements. The food is AMAZING!!! Kayla and Scott offer great service and Jon is a great host. Will definitely visit again.
