Luke and Billy are incredible blokes who facilitate this lovely intimately homely bar. Highly recommended you come for a local (Victorian owed) beer or drink and stay for a chat. Pup and dog friendly too! We rented out the back room for a birthday event, and couldn't have been more warmly taken care of with facility, drink and food. Highly recommended blokes and place for your ideal Hawthorn experience.

Had the pleasure of creating a grazing station at this venue for a 40th. Beautiful spaces, outdoor fire, warehouse out the back big enough for a DJ & dance floor. Billy & Luke were very helpful to work with & nothing was a problem. All Victorian alcohol on offer, delicious homemade pizzas & dog friendly too. If you’re looking for a good spot to stop by for a drink or your next event I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The Black Sheep is one of Melbourne's hidden gems. I found the owner Luke to be a friendly bloke, and an expert in Victorian beer and spirits. The pizzas are spot on and you can tell that they are made with care. I was surprised to know it was a dog friendly bar, which makes it a nice place to sit back and relax with friends while patting some doggos. This place is the perfect local for anyone looking for a bar to entertain at. Will be going back.

This place is good. Located on Burwood Road its easy to find and parking is easy. Bring ya dogs, yep this is a dog friendly bar. This is a small bar selling all Victorian Beers and Wines. But out the back there is a courtyard and function area. When I was there they had some amazing Hawkers beers on tap, but the taps rotate so be quick! They have some great tap beer and a large range of cans in the fridge. You won't go thirsty lol. They also have a great range of pizzas and some amazing cheese!! I'm looking forward to visiting again. Thanks for the opportunity to visit and collab.

Beautiful Bar is full of meaningful character and goes to show they care for the neighbourhood. Quality beers and knowledge of cocktails and drinks to try out and to add the cherry on top, Vegan-friendly Pizza that tastes so good! Highly recommend visiting if you want to hear great stories from the owner, Luke and create moments with your friends.

There's never not a good time here - and what's there not to like? Luke is a gem of a human being - super community oriented; vibes are always great, bar food is fabulous and most importantly, the curation of drinks from Vic only is exquisite. If you are even remotely in the area, you need to stop by the Black Sheep, zero doubts that it'll make your night!

Hands down the BEST espresso martini I’ve had in Melbourne, made by the lovely Billy, with some special ingredients like vodka from Tiny Bear Distillery. Also a great selection of craft beers. Plus, dogs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a very enjoyable night here with some local dads in the function space at the back. There was a great range of beers and ciders on tap, which were all reasonably priced. I also had a non-alcoholic gin and beer, which were both great. The standout for me though was the pizzas. We met the owners Luke and Billy towards the end of the night, who were both great hosts.

Luke is a very friendly and welcoming host. It’s all locally sourced drinks and food. Will definitely come back.

A great space, you can feel the sense of community as soon as you walk in, very much a local place to go where you feel as you belong. There is also a great range of gluten free beer!!

I bloody love this place. My husband and I live in the neighbourhood and we often stop in for a pint after work to decompress and enjoy the chill atmosphere. The tap rotation is fantastic and whether you’re young or old, local or just passing through, this is easily the most welcoming and relaxed venue in Auburn.

The Black Sheep is one of our favourite local spots. We just had a party in their new function space. I highly recommend if you are looking for a venue with a fun and relax vibe and a good drinks package.

Had a birthday party in the upstairs function room. It feels like a New York studio style apartment, ambiance was perfect. The drinks package was a great deal too.

We had a memorable time last night at Black Sheep Bar Hawthorn (546 Burwood Road close to Auburn Station). We booked their private space for our son's 30th birthday celebration. Fantastic local wines, beers and spirits. Everything there is from Victoria including all the ingredients for the wood fired pizzas. Luke and his team were incredibly accommodating and easy to deal with. It's a small business with an incredibly huge heart, dogs are welcome and the atmosphere is so friendly and chilled. Fantastic bar short distance from Auburn Station. Incredible staff, knowledge and well researched and stocks exclusively Victorian manufactured products. Incredible range of local spirits from award winning Victorian producers and a cocktail and pizza offering to die for. Also incredibly pet friendly and worth popping past after a visit to the local Petstock or Petbarn further up Burwood road.

Luke, the owner, despite being a loose canon, is a gem. A cool, random atmosphere with a friendly social atmosphere.

I've lived in Hawthorn for about 7 years. The black sheep is the only bar I've been to for the last 3-4. It's all you need in a local bar and it's a great place to check out if you're a visitor. Fantastic and very involved owner and awesome local regulars. Chill and relaxed vibe every time! One of the best bars I've considered a local in numerous countries around the world. All you'll ever need! Come in and hang with best bartender in town, and drink some amazing Victorian drinks. You won't regret it.
