Had to arrange a last minute 80th for 20 people for my mum who has just gotten out of hospital . As always a Lovley environment but I felt that the staff ( I didn’t get their names) went over and above particularly with her very large 80th birthday cake . It was the first time Mum had had all of the children and grandchildren together at the same time since Xmas . Thank you so much to all of the wonderful staff who helped make her day as special as it was . I would also like to add a big thank you to Tara who went above and beyond to secure this booking for us when at first it didn’t look like we were going to be able to fit .

A good RSL. Good array of service and campaign medals on display. I thought the dining area would be bigger. Menu variety was good. Food was excellent and delivered in a short time. Staff member Laura displayed an excellent customer service model, and is an asset to the premises, and should be in management or training. Laura's customer service should be envy to any other employer. Finally, plastic straws, not paper.

Went for brunch on a weekday. Nice lounge area and friendly,helpful staff. Ordered the 1.Roast of the day - beef - small portion of beef, the Yorkshire pudding had finished and they didn't replace it. However we paid the full price. A little disappointing.* 3.8/5 2. Baked Barramundi- underwhelming dish, had the fishy taste. Stir fried veggies were overcooked.*2/5 3. Lamb rump risotto- tasty, well crusted and cooked lamb, with a delicious sauce.*4/5

A colleague and I frequented the RSL here while visiting for work. Best meals. No complaints. So damn delicious and such lovely customer service. Thank you 😊

food is delicious great atmosphere

Attended here for lunch with four of us. The food was really good, the place clean and the staff friendly. The prices were also reasonable and easy to park at the carpark in the back

Staff are pleasant and accommodating.. and then is goes down hill from there.. have persisted in coming to this rsl due to family preference but no more .. I swapped my full price order with my partner and had the seniors Parma , it was soggy on the underside and had an odd taste but noted it was just a parma cut in half. The full serve was $26 a seniors $19. Shame on you RSL for the poor value you offer the seniors My partner tried the 1/2 Morton bay bug .. well I haven’t seen such a gross misrepresentation in a very long time .. what we got was a far cry from the image on the board …it was a dried up half bug with a piece of lettuce ..reason given by the manager was that it was a high cost item and it was only an add on to a main meal .. maybe but they charge $9 for the privilege.. no apology offered or even offer to compensate with a coffee . finally $36 for the grilled flathead tails on lobster bisque . Again consisted of dry tough fish in an over salted soup base.. Other reviews raise this very point .. extremely disappointing

A very nice place for members. They also allow walk in customers. The restaurant and bar serve good food in good price. They also have senior menu ! A great place to enjoy yourself .

On September 22, 2023, I was welcomed as a visitor to Box Hill RSL, and I am impressed by the atmosphere and clubhouse's chic and contemporary style. A good place for family and friends gathering.

Meals are big The entrees (baked schollops) and ( lemon and ricotta filled zacchini flowers) were the best

Was seated for dinner in front of a memorial cabinet dedicated to Benjamin Roberts-Smith, a proven war criminal. He committed countless horrific and disturbing acts against unarmed civilians, including executing a man with a prosthetic leg and making other soldiers drink from it. He is also a domestic abuser. It’s sick and twisted and I don’t accept that the RSL would be ignorant of this - it was heavily reported and has even been in the media again recently. Please rectify this

First time visit to this lovely venue. Looks more like a top level hotel than an RSL - although plenty of displays and reminders commemorating our fallen and returned servicemen. Food and drink were very good, staff and service was fast, polite and friendly. Overall a great experience - congratulations on a fantastic venue. We'll be back soon.

Had Drinks and Dinner. Staff all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Reasonable selection of wines and our meals were great Value- well cooked and great flavours. Pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and decor- very nice and quiet. Highly recommend

Friday's are raffle night, followed by dinner with my friends. Meals are ok, but they need improvement and alter the menus from time to time. Atmosphere is perfect!

We have not been there during the lockdown and we were very pleased to find that the whole building had a complete makeover internally. We were only there for a small bite and coffee out on the balcony area. The sandwich of egg and lettuce was very fresh and the coffee was just right. A very pleasant place to visit.

Great atmosphere as this is one of the largest RSLs in Vic and very modern, looks like a five star hotel on entry. Good bistro food with menus that change every 2 weeks, so check first, prices are usual pub reasonable value, most mains under $30. Seniors under $20. Great free parking under building. Has other venues up stair and down stairs to check out. Modern poker machines area to.

Really disappointing place for lunch. Unfortunately the "chef" in the kitchen can't cook steaks to order, they think the photo attached is medium rare!!! Back to cookery school you go!

One of the best places I have been to in a long time , great food friendly staff and quick service with reasonable prices.

Had a really lovely meal here (stuffed broccoli flowers with risotto.) Served by Gloria who was great. Nice surroundings and as a wheelchair user it was very accessible.

As with the RSL they have a club feel. The Box Hill RSL looks and feels very comfortable although this visit we have been a few times was in the morning and there were only one other couple so we had a choice of seating in the comfortable lounge area where we had two coffees each because they were excellent plenty of flavour the only thing is l like my coffee a little bit warmer but the coffee were full of flavour. Also the RSL has an extensive dining menu and a great selection of wines beer and cocktails on offer .For lunch and dinner a very relaxing atmosphere but also great food.

Food is always amazing here. Highly recommend

Excellent service never had a complaint

Have been here regularly in the past and enjoyed it. However, disappointingly, I think that food quality and quantity has dropped off recently. We had the roast lamb today for lunch and honestly the 2 tough and chewy small pieces of lamb wouldn’t have fed a sparrow. Likewise with the small serving of vegetables . Granted this was a seniors serve but even so the servings used to be quite generous. Inflation impact? I don’t know but other venues offer better value than this. Time to find a new regular, unfortunately.

The food is great. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so very friendly. A particular pat on the back to young Ethan who is so friendly and welcoming and goes out of his way to provide excellent customer service. High kudos to this venue.

This RSL is definitely not your typical RSL! The food is outstanding and the chef is amazing with his creativity. The decor and ambience is also delightful. It is the food that brings us back every time.

Wonderful experience when attending a friend’s birthday party in the function room. Staff are super friendly and attentive, all the food served are superb. We happened to attend a 1800 remembrance service which reminded us the sacrifices of our soldiers made for our beloved country! Wanna go back and try other food. My personal rating is 4.6

Really caring waiters and serene, sumptuous surroundings. Seniors are made to feel very welcome!!
