Beautiful and large temple located among hills and greenery. Be careful with the monkeys. They may snatch away your food and small bags. Nice place to visit any time of the year

Nice place. Hindu temple. Very old Rama temple. Parking is free here. It takes 30 minutes from the city to reach here. A must visit place if you are visiting Madurai. Less crowded place. Priests are very nice here.

Great place to visit and be aware of monkeys and they will search all your bike tank cover and do not open the windows while you park your cars.

Best temple Kallazhagar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu in Alagar Koyil, a village in Madurai district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries CE. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshiped as Kallazhagar and his consort Lakshmi as Thirumamagal.[1] This temple is called as Thirumaliruncholai in Sangam literatures and Naalayira Divya Prabandham sung by Tamil Azhwar saints.
