After
posting
my
initial
review
I
was
contacted
by
the
shop
owner.
We
had
a
very
pleasant
conversation
wherein
he
expressed
a
great
deal
of
concern
about
my
experiences
and
appreciation
for
my
feedback.
I'm
revising
my
review
accordingly
from
three
to
four
stars.*
I
recently
purchased
a
bike
here,
which
means
my
relationship
with
this
shop
will
be
long-term.
Although
I'm
identifying
some
areas
that
were
not
this
shop's
strengths,
my
hope
is
that
through
reading
this
review
their
processes
can
be
improved
&
my
relationship
with
them
won't
be
tarnished
as
a
result.
Pros:
>
Very
competitive
pricing
>
Excellent
selection
of
all
things
bicycles
>
Bike
fitting
by
a
certified
fitting
specialist
is
included
with
bike
purchase
>
Military/veteran's
discount
is
available
to
those
who
served
>
Great
on-site
coffee/beer
bar
with
an
excellent
selection
>
Accommodating
with
repairs
even
when
busy
&
without
an
appointment
Cons:
>
Repairs
aren't
always
successfully
completed
>
Service
estimates
are
wildly
inaccurate
>
Friendliness
from
some
staff
is
painfully
lacking
On
the
cons/opportunities
for
growth,
I
have
some
recent
experiences
that
informed
this
review.
I
developed
a
flat
&
took
it
to
the
shop
for
repair
-
unfortunately
it
was
not
done
well.
Thinking
it
was
a
pinch
flat,
the
initial
approach
to
repair
was
to
remove
the
tubes
from
both
existing
tires
&
complete
a
tubeless
upgrade
on
both.
Although
accommodating
to
do
the
repair/upgrade
without
an
appointment
(though
I
did
call
the
day
before,
spoke
to
Jenny
who
spoke
to
the
folks
in
the
shop,
who
told
me
to
bring
it
in
the
next
morning,
only
to
arrive
and
get
blank
stares
by
all
the
staff),
after
the
initial
repair/upgrade
was
completed,
I
drove
home
&
upon
taking
my
bike
off
the
rack,
saw
that
one
of
the
tires
was
completely
flat.
After
inflating
the
tire,
air
was
flowing
out
from
the
sidewall,
which
had
me
wondering
how
in
the
world
was
this
not
noticed
when
the
tire
was
inflated
while
in
the
shop?
I
immediately
took
the
bike
back,
a
25
minute
one-way
drive,
explained
the
situation,
&
did
receive
an
apology
from
the
owner
about
what
happened.
I
then
purchased
two
new
tires
&
the
tubeless
installation
was
again
completed.
As
I’m
rolling
my
bike
to
my
car
I
noticed
two
things:
the
nuts
used
to
secure
the
stems
were
different,
and
visually
enough
to
be
rather
annoying
(see
pic)
&
no
caps
were
on
the
stems.
So
I
had
to
go
back
into
the
shop
again
&
ask
a
rather
surly
shop
employee
for
caps;
I
chose
not
to
mention
the
mismatched
nuts
simply
because
the
employee
was
clearly
not
in
a
good
mood.
For
the
repair/upgrade
of
removing
the
tubes
&
completing
a
tubeless
install,
I
was
quoted
nearly
$50;
however,
the
final
charge
was
nearly
$90
-
turned
out
that
the
cost
of
the
stems
&
sealant
was
not
included
in
the
initial
estimate.
I’ve
read
other
reviews
complaining
of
this
&
it’s
clearly
still
an
issue.
Additionally,
during
my
bike
fitting,
I
purchased
a
pair
of
shoes
that
didn’t
fit
well,
so
I
returned
them
for
another
pair
in
wide
that
also
didn’t
fit
well,
which
ultimately
resulted
in
me
returning
the
second
pair
for
a
refund.
Because
of
a
limitation
of
the
POS
system
in
use
in
the
store,
my
refund
never
made
it
to
my
card,
instead
a
store
credit
was
created.
This
wasn’t
mentioned
to
me
when
I
returned
the
second
pair
of
shoes
&
it
was
only
after
I
called
several
days
later
asking
about
my
refund
when
was
I
told
about
the
limitation.
I
then
had
to
drive
back
to
the
store
to
receive
a
cash
refund.
The
incredibly
pleasant
woman
who
provided
the
refund
(Dave’s
wife,
feel
awful
for
not
getting
her
name)
profusely
apologized
&
made
the
situation
so
much
better
simply
by
being
thoughtful
&
kind
about
what
happened.
My
hope
for
the
shop
for
future
customer
visits
is
consistency
and
accuracy
with
estimates,
information
provided
proactively
on
things
like
refund
related
issues
and
military/veteran's
discounts,
attention
to
detail
when
scheduling
&
performing
repairs,
&
a
consistently
more
friendly
disposition
from
some
staff.
