I've been to a few different types of Jiu Jitsu clubs over the years, but none stand out like this one. If you're thinking about giving it a go, just get yourself down there for a 10 day free trial! Rob, Matt & Jo are all fantastic instructors and extremely knowledgable. They are also all genuinely lovely people. All walks of life of men, women and children come to the club and all regard it as an important part of their life. Keep up the great work guys!!

My son recently completed his first session in the 8-12 yrs Junior Combatives class. He thoroughly enjoyed the session and the enthusiasm he had when telling his mum all about it when he got home was clear to see. The session was very professionally organised with a solid structure throughout. Rob's delivery of, what appeared to be a complex technique, was incredible. He kept the children engaged and focused on the task of learning the technique, while ensuring the learning was still fun. My son was partnered with a young man who was older than him and several belt grades ahead. This boy in particular was fantastic with my son. He helped break down the techniques, step-by-step, and helped my son get his positioning correct with clarity and patience. A perfect role model for my son and a credit to both Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and his family. Overall, a wonderful experience for my son, who is very excited to return next week. I cannot recommend this training centre highly enough to any parent/guardian who is looking for their child to take self-defence classes.

Amazing instructors, all about personal safety and taking strict COVID secure measures at every session. Free trial available for new starters. Teaching programme has been well adapted for solo drilling at this time of social distancing. Gracie jiu-jitsu is excellent as a self-defense discipline and the Stockport club is friendly and welcoming place for all.

There are 2 things that matter to me when it comes to picking a martial arts club for myself or a member of my family. The first is the quality of what's being taught. There is a difference between activity & real skill development. The second is the culture. I cannot stress enough how important this is. The ethos. The safe and considerate practice. The no ego approach. Genuine people with good character & wholesome values. And it is because of those 2 characteristics I travel 1 hour each way to attend this GOLDMINE of an academy. Bonus point: The fact that the level of instruction is So Effective and meticulous, yet taught in a way that literally makes it accessible to every1 - that's beyond rare. The club has a very friendly atmosphere with everyone there to learn and help each other. Beginners are always made to feel very welcome. The instruction from both Rob and Richard is always clear and concise. It is easy to track your progress and access training videos and information (once you have joined). The facilities at both Stockport and Marple are good and kept clean. I thoroughly recommend a visit to see for yourself. I started in September 2015 and have enjoyed it ever since.

My daughter, Faye, is due to attend her 4th lesson with Rob at Marple Gracie Jiu Jitsu this Friday. Although it's technically challenging with a lot of information to absorb, especially considering she has only just turned 7 years old in February; she has really started to pick up the techniques Rob has shown her and put them into practice with the other children. During the week until the next lesson, we practice together to reinforce Robs teaching. Robs teaching is set at a good pace with each pair of children receiving a fair amount of individual time with Rob to help them develop the proper technique. The children have welcomed Faye and made her feel at home. The older children in her class have been kind and patient when she hasn't understood something which is great. Great coach, awesome children and a fun, learning environment. Would definitely recommend!
