Just having a light, midnight meal in the highest bar and restaurant in Manchester, arguably, perhaps. Arrived here in the nick of time before their kitchen closes and the staff have graciously considered. Managed to book online the last dinner slot for the night. I think it is best to dine in here in the daylight and enjoy the breathtaking view in peace since social drinkers flocked the area at this time of the night with blasting club music. Despite that, thoroughly enjoyed the cured salmon, squid ink risotto, and mushroom pithivier. Just the perfect lightness and a swig of port before bed.

A beautiful restaurant, very vibrant and with excellent views. (We went in the evening). Service was somewhat lacking to begin with, but after a short while or waiter was replaced with a nice chap that really looked after us. On the whole the food was ‘good’ not exactly brilliant, but good. However it was seriously overpriced in my view. As for the drinks, these were ridiculously over priced as well. Top dollar for the smallest possible bottle of cokes. Really? There is no need. That said, a wonderful venue, excellent toilet and washroom facilities. The sad thing which is very apparent is the amount of people using cocaine. It’s as plain as the nose on your face and I believe the management could do more to address this. Would we go again? I’m not so sure, especially since Manchester has lots of other excellent venues offering a better experience in many ways.

Very nice place with amazing views. Food is also amazing but small size. Service is very good;however, I don't think is fair that they add a 13.5% of service charge (which is a lot) plus one pound for charity without even asking. I'm more than happy to leave a tip and contribute to charity but this should be a guest decision and discretion.

We went for my wife’s birthday. She had an amazing time with the lovely food and wonderful cocktails! The wine recommendation was spot on and the music volume was just right too! Overall a memorable experience for us and we look forward to celebrating here again

Really gorgeous views - we didn’t eat but the food did look good. The drinks and food are very expensive though, however, for soft drinks and some ciders it’s reasonably priced and definitely worth getting a few drinks to be surrounded by the views you get. They are stunning. The outside area was really relaxing too! I think some people did find it hard to get a seat, however I guess it depends when you do go! My friend who took me here also said sometimes it is so busy you have to queue to get the lift, but we were lucky enough to go straight in and get a seat. I guess it depends! Definitely worth it

Service is incredible here. All the staff were very kind, attentive and helpful. Halal food options were limited with the sirloin steak being the only halal meat option. However there is a great range of veg and fish dishes we decided to try and it was cooked to perfection. We ordered classic mocktails that were not on the menu too and the staff were very happy to accommodate this. It was a pretty chilled out atmosphere, we got up to have a nosey out of the terrace and take a few photos too, it was freezing on the terrace but the restaurant was lovely and warm even with all the doors open. For the 2 of us we spent just under £90. That's a 3 course meal plus drinks, full to the point it was our only meal that day. Honestly the cost was very very generous especially for the price at this part of town, quality of the dishes and the quantity. If you're on the fence about going then I 100% recommend giving it a try. If you're just keen on the views there is an option to pop up for drinks. You essentially get a 360° view of Manchester, even the toilets have amazing views! Would definitely go again!

Really great experience, very tasty items. Bit limited for vegans, some more variety would be really appreciated! We had the set lunch menu for two, at £18.50 each for two courses. Broccoli soup to start and a cauliflower steak for the main: we then were served with a tasty little vegan tartlet as we requested the bill, which was a lovely surprise! The man who served us, Richard, was amazing. Great service.

We had a memorable evening at 20 Stories. The atmosphere is fantastic, the view is amazing, and the waiters are very attentive, particularly our waiter Alex. We went for the a la carte menu and the food was delicious (pricey, mind!!) Fantastically cooked. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They offered great recommendations, and their attention to detail was second to none. Now, the food - it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors. The chef's creativity and skill shone through in every bite. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors well-balanced, and the presentation was artistic. One dish that stood out was the seared scallops on a bed of creamy risotto. The scallops were cooked to perfection - tender and juicy, and the risotto was flavorful and cooked to just the right consistency.Even the desserts were a delight. The chocolate lava cake with homemade vanilla ice cream was the perfect end to our meal - rich, indulgent, and utterly delicious.Overall, this restaurant is a gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. Whether it's the food, the ambiance, or the service, everything is done to perfection. I highly recommend

We had a table for five booked for Sunday lunch, the lunch was superb with excellent attentive service. A great location for views over Manchester. I have also been into 20 stories for dinner on several occasions. The food and service has always been excellent. The outside area is really good for cocktails in the summer. A real celebrity hangout, we were chatting to the Dragons from Dragons Den last time we were there.

WOW WOW WOW!! It’s mine and my partners first time here and it’s the most breathtaking restaurant we’ve been too. The service was fantastic! Having assigned your own waiter and the layout of the restaurant was perfect! Our waiter was friendly and chatty! He was more than happy to help with any requests we had and gave us some amazing recommendations with drinks and food! We didn’t have to wait long for food and the the music was also very nice. The food was excellent, maybe the best I’ve ever eaten! You get what you pay for, for sure! The terrace was my favourite as you could see everything from where we were sat! The best thing, was that they had heated lamps to keep you warm which I find fantastic! We couldn’t have asked for anything better, it was the best night! Many many thanks to all of the staff who made us feel welcome! We will definitely be returning in the future!!

Had a lovely meal on Saturday. Service as always was second to none. The food was lovely. We were seated at 3pm so had the option of the 3 course lunch which we both opted for and were not disappointed. The mackerel and peas in the salmon were quite salty so avoid those if you don't like too much salt in your food. They were still lovely meals. The passion fruit cheesecake and apple tart were a beautiful refreshing way to end the meal.

A bar worth visiting. If you enjoy a great view while you’re sipping on an amazing cocktail, you have to go here. The bartenders know their menu and they’re also extremely nice. We needed no reservation when we went there during a Sunday (midday). There where lots of seats available both inside and outside. One of my favourite parts was the live music, wow!

We booked a table for 9.15pm and had a good time. Food and wine was great however we were given 15min from the moment we arrived to order all our food and desert because the kitchen closes at 9.30pm. Would've been nice if we were told that at time of booking because it doesn't really make that much sense to arrive and be forced to order food straight away without being able to enjoy some drinks/conversation. Apart from that was great. Waiters are nice and the space is brilliant.

One of the best places in Manchester to have drink. The views from here amazing and the drink selection is really nice with acceptable prices. Most of the times they do table service and the staff is very polite and helpful. It's a great place to be both during the day and at night.

The food was exquisite, one of the best meals I've ever had. The staff inside were very kind and chatty. Unfortunately, the security guard told us to wait outside the front door for 5 minutes for reasons we never understood since we had a reservation. Hospitality is not the strong suit of this venue. Also, the ventilation shafts were full of dusty bits, not very helpful when you've been waiting for a meal. Overall, a great culinary experience, but there's a long way to go if they want to offer the absolute thing.

The afternoon tea was delicious, could definitely have done with just one scone though as we were so stuffed! We did the cocktail pairing upgrade though & 2 are very sweet so maybe was too much for us with the cakes as well. A stunning venue, staff were really friendly & attentive at first but not towards the last part of our 2 hour booking when we had to get up to find someone to ask for hot drinks. Already given this feedback to the venue though & had a really helpful, caring reply.

Plush surroundings, reminiscent of the Shard in London. Had a cocktail and the set lunch menu, slightly disappointed in the cocktails didn’t have a lot of flavour, was expecting a strong grapefruit but nevertheless still nice. Set lunch menu offers good value and with decent portion sizes. Very attentive service, thank you.

It's easy to praise a restaurant when everything goes well . But the real test of customer service is when something is not quite right. At our recent meal here , my partner's steak was a little underdone for her liking ( even though she asked for it well done 😏) She was a little apprehensive in complaining, but the reaction of the staff and Maitre'd could not be faulted, I can't praise them enough . Overall the experience was very positive , the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was great and the views over Manchester are always spectacular.

The views from this rooftop bar are stunning. Worth the extra £ for the drinks. Around £13-£15 a cocktail and a schooner of beer is £5.75. I disagree with service charges especially 13.5% but luckily as we ordered from the bar this wasn't applied. The seats outside are relaxing, there are blankets as well and a lovely chilled Ibiza style playlist. The toilets are excellent as well. The Margherita I had was freshly squeezed and tasted superb with a friendly barman.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at 20 Stories in Manchester and I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. The location on the 19th floor provided breathtaking panoramic views of the city, which added to the overall atmosphere of the meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every aspect of the dining experience was exceptional. The food was inventive and delicious, with generous portions that left me feeling satisfied. Although some reviewers mentioned that the prices were on the higher side, I personally felt that it was worth it for the overall experience that 20 Stories offered. Overall, if you're looking for an elevated dining experience with exceptional service, delicious food, and stunning views, I would definitely recommend 20 Stories as a must-visit spot in Manchester.

We were situated on the Terrace, beautiful scenery, food and cocktails were amazing! We had the burger and hotdog from the terrace menu which i highly recommend. Definitely a place to consider if you’re looking for somewhere to relax with friends/ family in summer. Note- 13.5% discretionary service charge added to the bill.

I recently visited 20 Stories in Manchester for a special birthday celebration with my fiancée. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We started with nibbles and a starter, which was essentially a £14 tomato dish. The wait for our mains was excessively long, with my fiancée waiting for an hour for his meal. To make matters worse, I discovered a red hair in my main dish, which completely ruined my appetite. While I politely informed the waiter about the issue, I was shocked that the restaurant only reduced my main dish by 50% instead of removing it from the bill entirely. This seemed entirely unacceptable, especially for a restaurant that aspires to be high-end. What truly disappointed us was the lack of hospitality and respect from the staff. They seemed to discuss our situation with bitterness as we left, which was extremely disrespectful. Overall, I found 20 Stories to be overpriced, with mediocre food and a severe lack of service quality. The experience left us feeling offended and disappointed, and no effort was made to salvage the special occasion. Many restaurants offer small gestures like complimentary desserts to enhance special celebrations, but 20 Stories offered rudeness and poor hospitality. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to others. It falls short of the expectations one would have for a special dining experience.

Rachid was fantastic! A very helpful, amiable and energetic member of the team at 20 Stories. Our first experience here was awesome. Quality of food and presentation was superb, dessert was the cherry on top (excuse the pun)! Well worth a visit, we shall be returning for our next special occasion.

Great time at one of the private dining rooms with a great view. The whole rooftop gardens experience is not unique, but as it can easily go wrong with such arrangements, this venue did a good job in designing the place. It can get windy up there, but hey - you're up in the skies of Manchester. Again, great view. The service is what you'd expect in such a venue - even though there were some mistakes, overall experience was very pleasant. Will be coming back here. Great choice of non alcoholic spirits.

Location & view: Fabulous view of Manchester, breathtaking views especially when it rains. Food: food presentations is 5 stars, taste is good but not super to be fair. Staff: are really really super friendly, they have changed our seats for a better view and they took multiple pictures for me & wife, all done with love & smiles. Vibes there are really fantastic, a place fits for dates or making memories with friends & family.

We had a lovely time spending our date lunch here on a Sunday. Amazing view and great atmosphere with live music. Food portion is generous and delicious. The price is on the higher side, particularly their service charge of 13.5%. Probably would come again if there’s a special occasion.

Stunning rooftop location with panoramic city view. Menu is very British ranging from creative cocktails to exotic wines and champagne. Lovely experience with couple of friends as the stylish setting contributed to a unique dinning experience. Very well spaced sitting, friendly staffs, upscale atmosphere and food is lovely. Had Pan roasted chicken for mains, quite soft and tender and fennel salad for starters, both lovely. Had chocolate carrot cake for Dessert which was even more impressive.

Well they have perhaps the best bird-eye view of Manchester. Cozy, warm ambience. The food quality is decent. The reason I am giving 4 and not 5 stars is due to the poor bar service, and I am a regular, the bartenders are a bit rude in general.

Such a special place for a restaurant. The views are amazing! The food is really nice and the staff is the best. Prices are high, but worth it. If you don't like loud music, then this is not the place for you. Loved the experience!

The restaurant has amazing views of the city and beyond, much more to see by day but also great looking over the skyline of an evening. They are very well organised and service is swift. Your waiter/waitress will introduce themselves and are happy to discuss the dishes with recommendations. The food is excellent though, a few more choices on all menus would have been great. Not a huge choice for vegetarians either but what my wife did have was delicious. I opted for steak, no complaints with the cut or quality. Side dishes were well accompanied The drinks menu is lavish and you are free to drink at the bar once you have finished your meal. Very trendy, very busy and a real treat. Be prepared to spend here, easily £60-£80 per head up but worth every penny.

Elegant place for celebrations or occasions, or just drink on terrace. We had just a drunk on terrace on sunny day, but there are plenty heated and blankets for colder weather. Great drinks selection and fast and friendly service. It’s pricey but it is unique. Views are amazing!

I am giving 5 stars because every single member staff was amazing. Our waiter for the night, Lenny, was quite friendly and funny which we loved, also as I was with my parents (Spanish) a waiter from Spain approached us and offered to explain every dish to them in Spanish, he was very nice. The food was lovely and good quality, however, the lobster that is supposed to be shared by 2 people was very small for the price, I was still hungry after it and would have been even if I had it to myself. The tomahawk was more than enough for two , cooked to perfection and tasty. After our dinner the waiter found a nice table in the terrace for us to have some cocktails and they were amazing too! Great views, great food and drinks, and great staff! Can’t wait to go back to try the terrace menu as I’ve heard the burgers are really tasty.

  • 4/5 Josh A. 2 years ago on Google
It was okay-good in all... Scallops starter really good, lobster and fries underwhelming for £88 (to share). Comparing to £25-40 we’ve had for better/bigger whole lobsters and truffle fries elsewhere (inc central London). Servers knowledgeable about wine menu (great selection) which was a nice touch. Clearly short staffed that day, so can’t fault service working hard, especially with pressures at the moment. Would return to try something different on menu/ just for drinks, but not in a hurry.

Wonderful setting on top of a skyscraper. Great decor that feels upmarket. Staff are excellent at what they do. The cocktails were divine! Highly recommend the Manchester Tart cocktail 👌 Price wise... it is an upmarket venue so don't expect anything less than a tenner. Perfect excuse to get dressed up though.

Amir is the best waiter I’ve ever had the pleasure to be served by! He was extremely attentive as to what we wanted and his knowledge of the menu was very impressive - we were very happy with our drinks and food - this place has a great ambience and the views are spectacular - many photos were taken and staff were always happy when we asked!

Perfect service from the team. The doorman was friendly. We came for drinks and for the night-time view of Manchester. I recommend that you call in advance to book a table. They don't always allow walk-ins and if they do the queues could be long.

This place is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the giant king prawns and then the fillet steak to top it off with that chocolate fondant. The service is unmatched, the waiter that seems to always serve us is excellent, just wish we had his name. Every week he straight away knows our order even to the desert and processes it quickly. The wait time for food is very quick considering how busy it is every Saturday. We are looking forward to our next meal which unfortunately is in June (which can’t come soon enough!!!)

Enjoyed afternoon tea here. Food was really good. The place thinks it’s more sophisticated than it really is. They phoned the day before our booking to remind us that the dress code was smart. Looking around when we got there we could see this policy wasn’t enforced- so why bother. Good atmosphere in the place.

We had a awesome night yesterday, it was our wedding anniversary, 20 stories has recently received an award for best restaurant in Manchester, my feedback/review for yesterday: Ground floor Entrance ; 2 professional very polite and serious handsome man, welcomed us and you start already to feel the difference of this place ;) Took the lift and same professional welcoming from 2 nice, well dressed ladies , very polite and smiling :) Had a drink on the bar as we arrived little bit early, bar was very crowded and I really was surprised how the manage to serve everyone! Respect!! Went than to our reserved table and had very delicious dinner ! Final: a BIG thank you to ROBERT! 🥰 he took very good care of us, I do much appreciate his service , so polite so professional, at this busy night he was like a butterfly 🦋 :) Everyone who worked there was top! Came to 20 Stories on my first date with my special lady and we had a fantastic evening. The food was amazing, the views are wonderful and you really get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend for a night out. Our server, Dominic, was very friendly and polite, and made the experience very enjoyable.

My girlfriend brought me here during my birthday. As soon as the staff heard about it, they brought a little plate with „Happy Birthday“ on it. How cute and caring is that!! The view and drinks was amazing too! Definitely recommend :) They have indoor and outdoor areas - the sunset view is great, allthough it’s better to be here a bit earlier, because all the seats will be taken fast 😚 ###Update May### 20 Stories seems to have a Dress-code now. No Sneakers or Shorts are allowed. It’s nice up there but I wouldn’t say it’s that fancy up there, to apply such a dress code. We are not in London, Guys. Especially on a warm summer day. (-2 star for me)

My girlfriend took me here for one of my birthday dinners recently and we had the most amazing time. The food and drinks are out of this world! The views are breathtaking and I had such a wonderful time here. The staff are brilliant and service is very efficient. Will definitely be going here again next time we are in Manchester

The terrace menu was absolutely delicious. I had the burger and the truffle parmesan fries, the burger was cooked to perfection, the meat was successful and very flavourful. However the fries were rather salty and the parmesan felt more like dusty decoration so it wasn’t particularly good to me but it was still enjoyable. The drinks were amazing and of course let’s not forget the amazing view especially when the sun sets or during night time. The service was great just be aware that they do have a rather strict dress code ( my friend wore fur sliders with glitter and was rejected entry). Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, definitely recommend.

It was one of the best meals I ever had. Service is amazing, professional and very friendly. The atmosphere is beyond beautiful. The sunset incredible. The place is clean, beautiful, great for pictures. And the best view is from the bathroom lol , for realz. Go to the bathroom it’s amazing view. And also super clean.

We were a group of ten and we were booked for an evening meal. The atmosphere was good, very busy with a lot of selfies being taken, not by us. Our food was good but some of our food was only warm rather than hot. There were limited vegetarian options available. The service was good otherwise. We will visit again but not on a Saturday evening.

My husband bought me a virgin experience gift for a 3 course meal. This was to celebrate our 36th anniversary. He told the restaurant when he booked and he told the member of staff who was front of house. She did congratulate us, but they did nothing to acknowledge our celebration. We have seen photos from other customers who have received a little something in recognition of their anniversary. I am left thinking they only make you feel extra special if you are not on the fixed lunch menu. The food was good but not anything special, you have to pay for any sides to the meal. The restaurant decor was lovely but again nothing extra special. The view of Manchester is ok. It was spoiled by the very poor weather. Unless you have a window table, you may as well be on the ground floor. Our experience would have been much better had the restaurant gone the extra mile (most restaurants do) and if the weather had been better (no one's fault). My review of food, restaurant and the view would remain the same.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
