Been a while since Boothroyd visited this bar on Albert Square...opposite the Town Hall..currently a building site but hopefully re-opens in 2024. Always been quite a plush John Willy Lees business. Good covered patio in front. Boothroyd had a pint of bitter. Very good. My better half did not like the lager selection. San Miguel, and a brewery lager by JWL. So she had wine. Do a fair pub food menu, 2 mains for £17.95. Std fare. It's definitely a bar rather than a pub in a good location. Well worth a visit if you like a good bar.

Lovely atmosphere, relaxed music, friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast was quality and I want to know where they got their beans from! We also were given a breakfast pizza to try and it was delicious. The future is now.

Every time we go to manchester this is one of our favourite places to sit outside greg the manager is always very welcoming and friendly lovely to talk to. The drinks are also good and reasonably price. Thanks

The pear and almond tart was delicious, but the soup of the day was overpriced, with a small portion. Overall a great place to stop for a pint and some food.

Fantastic recommendation from Chloe regarding the sunday roast option, absolutely delicious!! Also fantastic and friendly customer service from her and Mike and enjoyed sitting out in the sun with delicious food and a nice cold pint also recommended - Manchester craft beer. Cheers

Scampi and chips ok wouldn't rave over. Pot of tea would have been good if it had been hot. Service excellent.

Definitely recommend, staff we're super friendly and the service excellent. Quiet at first but gets busy about 1pm but still nice. My son who is autistic felt very at ease here.

Had the privilege of sampling some of their new breakfast menu. Absolutely delicious, and the staff were awesome, really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return next time I'm in town.

Only marked atmosphere down a star as it wasn't a busy time of the day whenever we where in. Food really good, and Manchester craft ale spot on. The barman let me try a sample before buying, nice fella. Always call in here when visiting Manchester.

Eating drinking established opposite Manchester Town Hall. You can sit outside and watch the world go by

Went for breakfast menu (received a small A5 menu on a board) but found it much reduced, overall though what was available was tasty and reasonably priced. Friendly service to boot. No Eggs Benedict or Eggs Royal which I normally get so ended up with American pancakes.

Price is good, £15 for two whiskey mixers and garlic bread, but the service put me off. If the staff smiled I think their face would break. Don’t know if that’s the job, company or just himself. But I would like to be welcomed and not just grunted at.

It's a bar in Manchester city centre, like so many others, staff are good and prices are average. Nothing here to make you go back again, I will say I have not eaten here, so this review is about drinks. If I'm passing and fancy a drink, I'll go back again. That's about it.

Absolutely fantastic!! This was the honestly the BEST lasagne we have ever had. You could tell that it was definitely homemade and it was only £13.45!!!! We are from Sheffield and travelled to Manchester for the Christmas markets, so was surprised we managed to book a table! The service was great and the personalised welcome plaque was as a nice touch. We are already planning on going back to Manchester just to come back here for the lasagne!

Nice place, and warm! Nice to go to after the Christmas Markets and the chips were perfect! Oh and their take on the Baby Guinness was devine!

Had Christmas dinner with work colleagues today and the lady who served us smiled throughout the service which was so nice. All the staff who served us were really pleasant again which was great customer service. I think it was the landlord who also checked everything was running smoothly. The room was great and atmosphere Christmassy with Christmas crackers with fab bad jokes! Oh and the plates were warmed … attention to detail … nice!!!!

Nice pub, all clean, toilets clean, would like to see better selection of ales. Not sure if bar snacks I.E. crisps/ nuts etc are available? If they are not, this would be nice.

Beer is good. Staff friendly. Ordered fish & chips at 5 pm, large portion. Waiter came back, only small available (which is almost the same price). Small was really small. So at the end went from big to tiny for almost the same price. Was asked and ordered pees mashed but when the plate came, as well "not available". Only normal pees. Place is nice but needs to concentrate on the kitchen.

Excellent bar with a nice vibe the staff are friendly and conscientious of customers. My big issue with the place is i noted a potent smell on my glass of whiskey almost chemical in nature but sweet. Maybe get the dishwasher looked at guys and all be good.

Group of 4 of us visited. 2 had lasagna with garlic bread and 2 had the sizzler - 1 with chicken, 1 with prawns. All meals polished off they were gorgeous! Great value for money, nice atmosphere and clean facilities. This is going to be a regular stop for us

I came here yesterday as a booked party of 4 (Parklife and Ed Sheeran were both playing in Manchester so everywhere was heaving!) We had some issues with the food arriving separately as we had ordered starters and mains to come together but the kitchen are an error and send some separately. As a result of this, we had a long wait for everything to arrive and some items were missing sides etc. We complained to the manager and he could not have been more apologetic and helpful if he'd have tried! He refunded the food bill and was so lovely and approachable. The food was tasty and all arrived hot and I assume it would have been amazing if it wasn't so busy. They had a genuine error that any restaurant can make when they're super busy but the response and how we were dealt with was outstanding. I will be back and would still recommend.

Love going to this place always sit outside . Staff well mannered and assertive. Great food and a nice pint of JW lees beer to wash the food down . Will definitely come back next time we visit town

Lovely pub just across from Manchester Town Hall. Always friendly staff people and the prices are very reasonable. Used to get some decent guest beers in, but sadly not of late. The Manchester Pale Ale is nice pint.

Quite worried about getting there on time as suggested that it was busy. When we got there a table for two at 5.45pm it was relatively empty and people were leaving. Our table was to the rear very close proximity to the WC. ( I hate that area of any eatery). The food we ordered was very good 👍 indeed. Service could be better as we seemed a little ' forgotten' where we were. Desserts were limited and expensive, portion sizes very small really not worth the money. Waiter was very polite though. Probably would go for a drink but not to eat.

I really enjoyed this place. A varied clientele and excellent cask beer. I didn't eat, so can't comment on the food

Really nice Wine Wednesday. Lovely staff, access toilet and quick service. The delay to the town hall must be a real inconvenience but there were plenty of customers

Great place for catch ups with family / friends however I couldn't get a decaf tea or any milk alternatives which is surprising in this day and age... but they did have a herbal tea option available. Food was delicious.

Went to Duttons for Christmas meal. Everyone in my team liked it. Price was reasonable. Portions were generous. Taste was okay. Their service and staff friendliness was very good and I was impressed with their service.

Duttons - what an absolute classic. Used to come here all the time but haven't been in since 2019. Hasn't changed - still got that same vibe and still serving that decent Manchester Craft Lager from JW Lees. I prefer the Manchester Duttons to the one in Chester which is in a more off-centre location and let less lively as a result. This is definitely a pub to pop into if you're after a drink before your meal and you're in the Albert Square area - the food is also good, although the beautiful pate with the butter crust has been gone from the menu a number of years.

We were looking for somewhere to eat as we had had a long and difficult journey to Manchester. When we arrived we were both hungry & because my wife is a coelliac (Gluten & Wheat free) I spoke to Andrew (the manager) who came and sorted food out for us both. The meal was nice and filling but it was Andrew and his efforts to make sure we were looked after which he did impeccably

The food and drink were simply outstanding. I tried a few different dishes and everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The beer selection was impressive, with a wide range of local and international brews to choose from. What really stood out to me, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time and that all my needs were taken care of. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their customers made the experience truly memorable. Overall, I would highly recommend Dutton to anyone looking for a great meal, a great drink, and a great time. If you want to experience the best of English pub culture, then this is the place to be!

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
