What a find in Manchester. What do you can this place. A pub that does food or a restaurant that does a very fine selection of beers. I had the steak and I had a fillet as no ribeye delivered. What can I say about the steak? Let's start with it was the best steak I have eaten in Manchester. It was so well cooked, I like mine blue, and so succulent it almost cut itself. Then when placed in the mouth the taste just filled the mouth with everything that a good steak should be and there was almost no chewing needed as the meat just felt like it was melting in my mouth. Another surprise was that there were roasted garlic cloves on the plate. Other than the time it takes to roast them I do not understand why more places do not use roasted garlic. If you had not guessed I will be coming back. I am just not sure if it will be this week or next.

Some dishes were well thought out and others didnt really deliver that much of an impact. I have had a cheaper set menu at James Martin for half the price which delivered on every course. The service, staff and ambiance was great so i cant complain about that. Just the quality and size of some dishes need improving.

This place is relatively new in Manchester I discovered it in the Manchester Evening News a few day ago so thought I would give it a try. I am glad I did as the place is very good, its a simple menu Bangers & Mash a few other item but Id say stick to the speciality because its the best Banger & Mash ive had in a long time. Id say its worth the trip if you are in the mood for that type of food as I cant think of a better place for it in Manchester.

Overpriced and bland. Black pudding starter was three of the tiniest bits of food ever with some underdone beans. Steak was tender and the vegetables were lovely, but there was no Yorkshire pudding as the menu promised. Waiter said he would check into what happened, but never did. "Eccles cake" dessert was "deconstructed", meaning it was a dry pastry next to a pool of stewed currants. Three course for £23 sounded like a good deal, but was underwhelming.

Amazing food, friendly service and very nice setting... I need to scrape my brain and go back in time quite a bit to find an equal value gustatory experience. Portion sizes are not huge obviously (starters are rather small) but value for money this place is difficult to beat.

We’ve been a couple of times to Grafene, we even get vouchers now for our Christmas presents because we’ve enjoyed it that much and we tend to go for our Anniversary. Although the last time we went the service was a little slow, it was mid week, dinner time, so not a busy weekend or anything like that, we just seemed to be sat a lot longer than we’d have like to for our drinks, but the food was fantastic. I’m sure it doesn’t happen all the time and we’ve definitely be returning in the near future, hopefully to turn our 4 star review into a 5 star one.

The food was delicious loved the taster menu. The service was brilliant we didn't feel rushed. Every course that came was explained. We arrived early and was able to get our seats earlier.

Good flavour combinations, exciting amuse bouches. Very much enjoyed the cep starter and duck main. Cocktails unusual too. Vim to! Really love the homage to everything northern/Mancunian.

Firstly the good: the food here is pretty good. If you're looking to fill up on bangers and mash or a decent Sunday roast with vegetarian and vegan options, then it's ok. However, it's usually far too noisy to enjoy yourself and relax with a chat. Also their boast of having 20 plus beers on draught is nonsense. Often there are just a few overpriced options available and they claim not to be able to keep cask beer cool enough to sell enoughof it.

It's a great meal, good food and service. I've been here several time and will come again
