Amazing experience for a nice dinner following my graduation. The server was so patient and understanding of our needs and allergies. There was a live piano music before 8.30 pm to accompany the dinner mood. Good food though the fish option was limited the night we went. They allowed us to customise our food which was very satisfying. Overall it was a great experience and we will not hesitate to come back!

Got the breakfast menu here and I ate the vegan breakfast. There was non-vegan butter which is interesting for a supposedly vegan breakfast but it wasn't an issue for me since I'm not vegan. The beetroot hash was really good (and I normally don't like beetroot) as it tasted similar to regular potato hash browns. I feel like for what I got, the other was appropriate. The service here was very good and the waitress was very kind, outgoing, and flexible.

Absolutely stunning and amazing place to eat, the building is magnificent and I was fascinated by how many original features had been kept. We were served by Leanne who was so friendly and professional whilst also being real and not a corporate robot. She looked after us throughout our breakfast. The food was absolutely top notch, all quality produce, free range eggs that were as orange as I had ever seen and it was a very generous serving and filled me to the top. Would definitely come here again and would like to sample the evening food. Thanks a lot.

Lovely old bank interior, attentive staff and delicious food. I had the pork belly with apple caramel, other half had (unwittingly) the avocado, kale and mango salad with a massive piece of perfectly cooked salmon. Delicious food, though not a great choice of beer. Expensive wine, but it's what you expect in settings like this.

Had a lovely meal at Browns today. Emily was our waitress and she made the experience and memories even better. The food was delicious and she was always friendly and accommodating, checking in regularly on any of our needs. Would defo recommend a visit here even just to admire the beautiful building and interiors!

We had a delicious breakfast in Brownes. We had Eggs Benedict and a mini Fry, both fantastic! The coffee was very milky and could have been better. The building is beautiful and the women’s toilets are full of history was they were the vaults to the old bank.

Simple perfection. Pan-seared scallops and pancetta had a slight mishap with unevenly distributed seasoning but stunning delivery on every dish for the table of 4. The desert could use a little more attention but I am pleased with the overall quality and experience. We will be returning in a few days for afternoon tea for a separate review.

A really mixed review here so bear with me. We've been here before in the past and really enjoyed it, but this review is based on today's visit. Some of the issues below might have been solved had I asked to move seats, but my wife doesn't like me to make a fuss (nor should I have to). Firstly we were positioned in a section near the toilets, we were kind of hidden from view, which might have impacted the service we received. The building itself is beautiful with such lovely decor. If Browns read this review, you need some sort of soft close on the toilet doors to stop them banging and some WD40 on the hinges whenever needed to stop the squeaking. We waited for 20mins just to be served a drink which for me is just not acceptable, but this was a bit of a theme for the visit, having to push my chair back to try get a view of a waiter/waitress from our hidden area. The main pasta dish I had was OK at best, but I think I might just have chosen poorly. Everything else was really tasty, especially my wife's starter (Chorizo and Prawns). So food was overall great, just the service and table location brought the whole meal down for us.

This restaurant is definitely one of the best I've experienced in Manchester. You have the opportunity to order from two different menus, one of which is a value-priced combination of 2 or 3 courses from the starter, main, and dessert menus. (I'm not sure if this is available on weekends.) The staff at this restaurant are some of the most polite, professional, and friendly I have ever encountered. They go above and beyond to make sure that every guest has a positive dining experience. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. The atmosphere in the restaurant is luxurious and inviting. The décor is elegant and sophisticated, and the lighting is subdued and romantic. The food and drinks at this restaurant are of the highest quality. The ingredients are fresh and seasonal, and the dishes are prepared with care and attention to detail. The menu features a variety of dishes, from classic to modern, so there is something to please everyone. The restaurant also has a good selection of wines and cocktails to complement your meal. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or simply for a great dining experience.

We went for a nice lunch when we had a free day to do some shopping within the city. Service was friendly and attentive. For a chain Browns really does do service well. Drinks order was taken promptly after seating and our food order was supported by very knowledgable staff. I enjoyed surf and turf and my wife has a BLT toasted sandwich. We enjoyed it that much we ordered dessert, which was amazingly nice. Would highly recommend for quick lunch or nice dinner.

Quiet Monday lunch. Came today for partners birthday lunch with our 2 month old. Gluten free menu very limited but my partner had the risotto and it tasted amazing, I had the pork belly dish and it truly was delicious and seasoned perfectly. Cocktails on point as usual and our waitress was lovely and kind. If I had to give a criticism maybe the dishes could have looked a bit prettier but taste wise I couldn't fault. Will definitely be back for food and drink!

The avocado toast was amazing and I added a side of sausage which was also surprisingly good! Yummy food and delightful place. Very comfy armchairs and the music was also great. Would definitely come back!

Excellent food and service, those vintage vibes with stained wind glass and the scent of bricks is there to remind you of the history of this place as it used to be a bank. They kept a lot of the original structure. Very charming and just what you need on a rainy afternoon

We had a great family Sunday lunch at Brown’s last week - really tasty food, lovely drinks selection (including lots of non-alcoholic options which was nice!), and we were able to book on the day. The challenge though was that, although the floor colleague looking after us was great, the speed of the bar and kitchen wasn’t. Our starters came before our drinks which arrived with our mains, and our dessert arrived probably half an hour after we ordered it. Overall 4 stars - it was nice dont get me wrong - but unfortunately poor pace from the kitchen and bar. My advice would be stick to starter and main if you’re time-conscious!

Just had drinks 🍸 no food but they were delicious 😋 I had the pineapple upside-down cake highball and it tasted exactly like the cake, it was great but a warning - you need to like sweet drinks! I like sweet drinks but even this was on the edge of my sweet pallet. A beautiful place inside which I understand was a bank originally and you can tell, extremely ornate ceilings, tall black and white marble pillars and mahogany snd stained glass everywhere, they certainly used to spend alot of money on these places 😀 Can't wait to visit again to eat.

Disappointing breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. The biggest grievance was that the egg was more like a fried omelette texture and burnt / dry. Even so the portion was small and not very generous with salmon. The tea comes up in a small teapot which only has 1 and a half of small cups. The other dish was the lobster Benedict. I am told it was okay. It just didn’t feel good value for money compared to the independents you can find in Manchester. The venue itself is stunning and the ambience is nice.

Stayed here for lunch. Incredible decoration and atmosphere. Ordered two courses menu and got amazed by the size of the starter. 😂 Great dishes overall.

Had josh serve us today. Very funny and friendly. Food was amazing. Ribeye steak was probably the best I've had in a long time, even better than restaurants specialising in steaks! The only downside was that the custard portion was too small and it was lumpy!

Solo dinner during a work trip to MCR. Browns is a reliable quality option. I went with a couple of starters - chicken teriyaki and the fig & goats cheese salad. The salad was superb. Quite superb. Washed down with a G&T. Then had the mango Eton Mess and a glass of the Picpoul white wine (needed to be a little colder). Fabulous location and nice sophisticated vibe. Josh - waiter - was outstanding. Top operator. Outstanding dinner for £50.

Hubs and I had a very good lunch at Browns. We loved the mushroom with sourdough starter and the pairing of red wine reduction with steak. Felt really welcomed by the front desk manager as well as one of the staff by the name of Marco. The beautiful interiors of the restaurant/ bar just tops it all. Thank you for making our lunch such a pleasant one.

For our last lunch in Manchester, it was such good memories we keep with us : delicate food (Sherperd’s pie, we thought it was a classic pie but eventually a good surprise). The sauce is tasty with melted lamb. The dessert was so good too with banana, ginger ice-cream and cinnamon. Great atmosphere in this restaurant

We celebrate my daughter's birthday. We have lunch there. We ordered 3 sets of lunches and deserts. The food is good and the atmosphere is perfect. I will recommend this restaurant.

Went for Easter Sunday roast. The venue itself is very nice. The food was nice, enough. Was it outstanding and leaving me feeling blown away? Not in the slightest. A small issue I had with my recent visit was the lack of staff. We had booked our table for 8pm on the Sunday so admittedly it was quite late but there was 2 people running the whole front of house. One lady (who was lovely) and the manager (also lovely) who was running the bar. I think they both did everything they could and were doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. I guess combined with the food being average and it being understaffed does leave a bit of a sour taste when the prices are so high. When a restaurant charges higher prices and wants to sit in the finer dining category, you’d just expect to not have any issues with staffing or food. If this was a nice pub/restaurant somewhere else in Manchester with the same food and service it probably would have been a 4 star review but because Browns is supposed to be more than a nice pub the stakes are higher and I didn’t feel like I’d have received the experience.

Really enjoyed my dinner at this centrally located Classy Restaurant based in historic listed building with beautiful Enterier and very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent quality food and services! Recommended to make prior reservation, as very popular, and being centrally located car parking can be a time consuming, so allow extra time on way in or plan for parking accordingly.

Wonderful experience. We went just before lunch hr started and instead of telling us to come back, they seated us at the bar for some drinks while we waited! All the staff members were very lovely, especially the older lady! The lich menu didn't have many option for starters, mains and desert, but nonetheless, the food was delicious. The dessert was honestly to die for; very simple but exquisite.

Came with my Dad. We both had 3 courses. Every course was delicious. Everything was cooked well. Tasty. I forgot to order a side dish with my main. So when my mains arrived I ordered it. They reassured me it wouldn't be long. It came promptly so could eat it with my food. Server Josh was lovely. Smiley. Chatty. Calm. Helpful. Just lovely. ... I didnt take a photo of the mains. But here's the starter, side and dessert.

Afternoon tea at browns was exquisite!!! We popped along to celebrate my mums birthday and what a joy it was! It’s absolutely beautiful inside and all of the staff are wonderfully polite! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced too! Lovely idea if you like afternoon tea and want to celebrate someone special!

Came here for an evening meal. The building is beautiful and feels classy although the furniture was a little worn in some areas. Toilets were not great either. Food was delicious and very well priced, and the staff very friendly and attentive. Perfect for a group gathering or a romantic meal. 4/5 stars for the food and service from the staff.

I always passed by and was looking at how nice the flowers and the building were, then, finally decided to go in last Sunday for dinner and it was the best choice ever. The staff is very nice and professional. I was with a friend and we shared a Chateaubriand and a sticky toffee pudding. The dinner was well worth its price. Will definitely go back.
