Really nice old fashioned style pub. Takes you back to the way pubs used to be but still with a friendly atmosphere. Worth a visit

This was my local back in the 1980's. A pint of Wilson's was often poured ready for us if the sons saw us coming. Table football games before going to United were a highlight. ( Shut at 3.00 then otherwise might have skipped some games.) Hardly changed since but could not see the table football. Hope it comes back. Excellent real ale still served. I had Brightside. Great atmosphere. A must visit pub. Landlady Nancy been there forever...as of July 2022 she is the longest serving landlady in the UK...and the table footie was back but not in use.

Lovely old pub, leaden windows. Small rooms lead off from the entrance, which was nice to see. Good beer, four real ales in at the time of my visit.

Not sure they do food but just went in for a quick beer. Would have liked to stay longer. Stunning tiled exterior of the pub was gorgeous!

Beautiful looking building a real proper pub. So glad it's still around and we haven't lost it like so many around the city. Great beers and atmosphere. I would recommend going. A real step back in time traditional boozer. It's got a small outside area for when it's sunny in Manchester if you're lucky that day

This was a fantastic bar to visit with friends, with a classic style throughout! This is shown at the very entrance, counter mirrors it and so do the walls with their frames. We played some fun games of pool and I enjoyed a pint of Guinness, sitting comfortably down when not playing!

Fabulous pub. Great exterior. Decent choice of ales. Titanic plum porter 👍. Toilets let the place down.

Das ist eine richtig Urtypische Kneipe ( PUB ) . So etwas schönes habe ich das letzte mal in Irland gesehen. Ich komme definitiv wieder.

First visit. Great old pub, 200 year old building. Two entrances, double sided oval bar. Game room with digital jukebox, snooker table and I think one video game. Comfy lovely settees. Peanuts, beer and blackcurrent drink. Beautiful barkeeps. We loved it! Had no food, saw no food.

Superb traditional unspoiled pub , a gem in Central Manchester. The best Jukebox in Manchester. Great atmosphere. Brilliant staff . Don't do food really but excellent crisps

This pub is worth checking out during a visit to Manchester. It's a Manchester institution. Great beers and a real feeling of stepping back in time. The Plum Porter is not to be missed.

One of the best pubs in mcr. Always visit and always love it. Very slightly not as good service from two student age bar staff who were chatting rather than serving. But no big deal at all.

This is probably the best pub in Manchester in my opinion. The cask beer choices are always excellent Brightside, Timothy Taylor's, Tiger Rut & a Titanic plum which was very popular. It's friendly plenty of choice for non cask drinkers & is very much a unique pub.

Sadly, a distant memory of a working class pub. Only well off can afford to live around here, so full of students talking about gap years. Not their fault, just the way it is. Good beer, good staff

Proper old school Pub. These establishments need to be visited and kept alive. They are part of our cultural heritage and should be offered incentives to stay a viable business. A wonderful pub. Loved it. Please visit and keep our pubs alive.

Very unusual old building in the centre of Manchester. Was surprised to find a Jack Daniels collection inside which had a large number of different bottles including some rare before and after charcoal mellowing bottles. As a collector myself I know that these are difficult to come by so I assume they the owner is a Jack Daniels collector. They have also purchased their own single barrel which means that they ahbe their own unique tasting Jack Daniels, which is a nice addition and pretty hard to find in the UK let alone Manchester.

Traditional English Pub. Fun spot to chat with the locals.

Nice, traditional pub with different rooms all set in what seems like a horse shoe layout. Couple of decent beers 🍻 and not too horrendously priced for a Manchester pub.

One of my favourite pubs in the UK. Classic traditional pub with beautiful features. Brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff peeps. If you're ever in Manchester, make sure you pop along. You will not be disappointed.

I didn't try the food unless, like me, you class Guiness as a meal in a glass. The atmosphere on an early afternoon was positively uplifting. I wondered how so many people could be in the pub on a weekday afternoon. Fabulous throwback to my childhood memories of what a pub is and should be. Highly recommended.

Brilliant old school pub with a community atmosphere. Packed at weekends but still feels friendly. Unique central bar serving all sides.

A great chance find walking past on our way back from a museum. Beautiful, tiled exterior leading to a welcoming interior and a wonderfully kept pint of Landlord. A great pub…..

The best pub in Manchester!!... No matter how many others I've visited in none come close to the Peveril in terms of atmosphere, cosyness and quality beer... from the beautiful outside facade to the dual- sided bar inside, bar footie it's almost like you're 'time-slipping' into a Manchester pub from decades gone by!! 😊

In general, I love Manchester, but was super happy when our food tour guide sent us here to kill some time before going back to London. It was a gorgeous day so we had our drinks outside, and experienced the general Manchester friendliness we love about the city. Go for a nice quiet pint during the day - I'm sure evening can get hopping, too!

Love the original glazed tiles and the old world feel of this classic Manchester pub. We sat in the original Snug where the service buttons were still in the walls. The seating was uncomfortable and the cast iron stools weren't much better. We enjoyed the guest fruit porter and Guinness, a great range of real ales were on offer.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
