Amazing bar , atmosphere, Band and the staff are extremely on point. Great little gem of a bar in Manchester - must visit if you're looking for warm, friendly but vibrant vibe.

Had a pint of Guinness here yesterday and let me tell you, it was a belter! Great little pub, nice and cool inside on a muggy day. Price was £6.40, great pint, quick service and nice little spot. Edit - 30/06/23 - Called in again for several pints of Guinness as I was in Manchester for the cricket. Very busy for a Friday afternoon, the staff were amazing and the atmosphere was buzzing!

Went on a Sunday evening. Very good pint of Guinness, authentic Irish music playing at a conversational level. Service was attentive and security were bang on too! Definitely will be back when in Manchester!

This is not the pub I have loved and known in the past. Went here with a few friends, was told to take Christmas hats off by door staff, which we did. We enjoyed an excellent band and clapped and danced along to the music. After ordering our 2nd drink we were shocked to be approached by the door staff and asked to leave after finishing our drinks. The only reason given was we swayed too much. The door staff extended their hands for a hand shakes as we left and I told one of them I would never be returning to Mulligans Bar again. A very disappointing visit

Just popped here on a very busy Friday night for one reason and one reason only and that was for a pint of Guinness. Hands down the best Guinness I've had outside of Ireland it tasted very good and pub pints of Guinness taste so much better than cans. Atmosphere was decent here the pub was absolutely packed but being a Friday night it was expected. If you just go here to try the Guinness you won't be disappointed one bit. Can't wait to come back here for more.

The price of a pint goes up every week in here it seems. £6.40 a Guinness now. It's a very good pint. Best I've had in the UK. However it's not worth that price. It reminds me of the temple bar in Dublin. Always packed so glad they are doing well. However I'm not spending £20 on 3 pints. Popped in for one after the marathon.

Having read a few reviews on the place and being partial to a good pint of Guinness I thought I must give it a try and whilst they do a proper pour of it, it's not any better than lots of pubs in the city centre the only plus is the price over £2 more than a few others in the city who also know how to pour and serve Guinness. It's very nice inside but I won't be going back

Easily the best pint of Guinness in England. I always recommend this place to friends who visit manchester. As a fellow publican I'd love to know their secret on how the Guinness is so creamy and perfect.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag here. On one hand the drinks choice is fantastic, the ‘oldy’ English pub feel is cosy and the music decent…but sadly the live music was so so loud that we couldn’t really have a chat with our friends. Whilst the music is genuinely good and some clearly talented people playing it’s just too loud in a pub that small so it means you are constantly shouting at each other to be heard and have a conversation. As mentioned earlier though, the drinks are fabulous and the Guinness is one of the best I’ve ever had in England so kudos on that!

Always great to have a pint of nice beer on tap here. The bar staff are very helpful and patient. I just wish there were more seats! Always struggle to find a place to sit.

Great atmosphere and Guinness that didn't disappoint, not normally a Guinness drinker, but after tasting my partner's thought I would try a pint for myself. My partner is a Guinness drinker and said it was the best couple of pints he's had outside of Dublin.

Great Irish bar. Go here for the Guinness (the best kind) and the music. You may have to queue when it's busy but it's worth the wait once you're inside.

The bar is famous for its Guinness and its well founded. The bar was very very very busy all day. No I didn't stop all day 😂 I'd booked a room upstairs. Being Manchester it is noisy so if you like peace and quiet then book elsewhere. I didn't mind and will be back again. Continental breakfast was choc o pan and cereal with yoghurt and plenty of juices.

Nice pub. Had to queue to get in as it was a Saturday afternoon. Packed inside. Nice atmosphere. They do a crackin pint of Guinness as you'd expect but that's not all they sell. Great decor. Worth a visit.

Proably one of the few real pubs in manchester. Not run by a big company and has a crowd of it's pwn. No pretence here just a place to have a drink. Gets lively when the music is on at weekend. Good door staff, bar staff great. Just go and enjoy.

Visited whilst out with pals on a Friday night. Busy with a great atmosphere. The Guinness is superb.

The best Guinness in Manchester. They use the old glasses and produce a very well balanced pint that you just don't get anywhere else. Though on the pricey side at £6.40 per pint. Would highly recommend.

Best Guinness I've had outside Ireland. Not far at all from Manchester Victoria Station- easily walking distance.

Drinks and service were good until later on when bouncers were starting trouble. My partner was kicked out for no good reason and then when I was trying to understand why and talk to the bouncer, he took my drink away aggressively and dragged me out by my arm. I'm still contemplating escalating it.

Great Irish pub in the heart of Mamchester just off Deansgate. Great pint of Guinness and some excellent bands on a Saturday night. Was heaving as it was match day, but could still get served quick enough.

  • 5/5 Lana A. 7 months ago on Google
The staff and bouncers are some of the loveliest I’ve ever encountered. They pour a great pint of Guinness in one of the city’s oldest pubs and it’s always full of people - testament to the kind of place it is.

This venue is Manchester's iconic Irish pub and has won multiple awards for its Guinness. . I visited on 4th November when Manchester United was playing Fulham. The pub was predictably extremely busy and the atmosphere was great with plenty of screens around the venue making viewing easy for all. . Guinness is my drink of choice these days and I was not disappointed. Great pint and poured perfectly. . If you like Guinness and Irish pubs this is a must visit place in Manchester. Looking forward to heading back real soon.

Great Irish pub with excellent Guinness and good atmosphere. Was in it on a Saturday and the live music was brilliant. Highly recommend to pay a visit on a trip to Manchester

This place is dangerous.. Live music, amazing atmosphere and the best pint of Guinness this side of Ireland. The staff are really good at handling the crowded bar so service is quick considering how popular it is here. The live music is always worth going down to see, really talented musicians that know their way around getting the place absolutely bouncing. Be warned tho, if you go here you'll probably forget how you got home and wake up with a kebab in your kitchen.

Very busy ( although was a Friday night so expected ) was told best Guinness in Manchester but lines didn't taste clean but great atmosphere, would come again on a different night. Also great selection of whiskeys and other spirits

  • 4/5 Michael C. 4 months ago on Google
Pretty damn good pub but it was rammed. This meant we had to stay for a pint. Decent Guinness. Fair selection of other intriguing whiskeys and beer. Might have to nip back.

A nice pub with some great Irish music on. Gets busy quickly from opening on a Saturday but that is to be expected, as it has a reputation for serving the best Guinness in Manchester. I'm not qualified to confirm that, but every pint they were pouring was consistent and looked great.

Great service and staff. Fantastic atmosphere, The Bangor man makes a great hot whiskey.. As he suggested, Powers is the whiskey to go with.. Careful, though.. He may suggest doubles, which is great, But they go down too easy in a bar with live music that good. ;-)

1st time experiencing an Irish bar and oo boy was it something... The people were so lovely, chill and happening. Guinness beer here is something else, its different nowhere in the UK I tasted like here. It's a pretty small location with an Irish styled interior, me and my friend were lucky to be there with a live music session. The best part apart from beer was no one was on their cellphones or clicking pics.. Must visit for Manc

I visited Mulligans early on Saturday afternoon to experience what is often regarded as one of the best pints of Guinness outside 🇮🇪 Believe the hype!! If you like Guinness well worth a visit, will be back for sure!!

  • 5/5 Ian N. 1 year ago on Google
Whenever in Manchester and the grind of the city starts to wear me down - I head to Mulligans!! Rarely is there a seat available, but rarely are you left to stand. The banter with the regulars takes you up a notch and the Guinness …….. - the next level!!

We were out trying to rescue an injured bird on same street as Mulligan’s Irish Bar, the doorman there was very helpful and showed genuine concern for the welfare of the bird. Thanks Mark for your assistance 🐦👍

Was in the bar for the GAA, other than Derry not winning the craic was amazing! Great people, terrific bar staff and the live music was excellent. Cannot recommend this bar enough.

Finally tried the Guinness in here and must say it was nothing special and for £6.20 it was a bit dear too. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but I wanted the Guinness to be the best I've tasted out of Ireland but unfortunately I didn't think so. Recently, I came back from Keswick where I had the best pint of Guinness in the Pack Horse, a really nice pint. I shall resume the search to find the best pint of black once more.

Don't want to tell anyone about this place because I want to keep it to myself. Service excellent.. Guiness - my husband said like Ambrosia from the Gods! Great atmosphere, started to get busy about 5ish..post work drinks. Music was prepping to start as we left. Will be back for a full night soon, I hope.

Excellent Pint of Guinness, 4 Star based on price. There is 1 other place in Manchester that also do an Exceptional Guinness but at a more reasonable price

  • 5/5 Sean A. 11 months ago on Google
Great little Irish pub. Guiness poured to perfection and has a great atmosphere. Very busy when we were there on a Saturday, but even with the number of people in there, we were straight to the bar and were served immediately. Can't knock the service at all! Excellent.

Great Irish pub, cosy, very friendly guests & staff. Made friends straight away & been told that this is the best Irish pub to go to in Manchester. Live band as well, highly recommended!

A very busy Irish pub on a backstreet. I’d say it’s the best pint of Guinness in Manchester. They have the old style glasses which you don’t see in most pubs. Thick, creamy head. Good dome, and good lacing on the glass. Good temperature also, not too cold but just right. I ended up having five pints before moving on and they went down very easy. The layout of the pub is nice also with an open area near the bar and seating areas at the far side. Good atmosphere, friendly barman. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.

  • 2/5 Kieron M. 9 months ago on Google
Lovely place staff are very good Guinness was very poor, looked great creamy and thick but awful tang and bitter taste, nothing like back home in Ireland. Queue ridiculous just to get in but understandable.

  • 5/5 Martin W. 1 year ago on Google
Best pint of Guinness I've ever had in the UK. As a Dublin man, it's rare to get a decent pint of the black stuff outside of Ireland but they're nailed it here and all the staff behind the bar are absolute gents. Dealt with a lad from Donegal and he couldn't of been more helpful. The band on right now on a Sunday night are top notch. Will 100% be back the next time I'm over for a match.
