Numerous issues staying in the family room in July 2022. - The base on the right hand side of the double bed was broken resulting in a significant dip in the mattress, the headboard had also come away from the wall. The bedding was not clean (bottom sheet). - The socket beside the double bed was not working. - The window in the double room would not stay open, which given the temperature and humidity in the room was not ideal. - The milk supplied with the coffee was lumpy. - The shower was leaking at the base of the shower head, while the wall mount wouldn't hold the shower head upright so it sprayed the wall, not the person using it. - The toilet seat would not stay open and had to be held. - Two staff members ignored my wife, I and our 18 month old when we arrived for breakfast, after lingering for a while and despite saying hi (still ignored!) we abandoned it and went elsewhere.

24/10/22: back again, ahead of our Jersey Boys Show at the Manchester Opera House. We went for Lilleys; Berries 'n' Cherries. Photo update. 29/09/22: good pub, good selection of ales, cask, craft and ciders. We had the Lilleys Cherries & Berries 4%, which is akin to flat Vimto. The Oxnoble is located at the heart of the old Potato Wharf, so named for the huge numbers of potatoes delivered yards away at the Castlefield terminus of the Bridgewater Canal. In todays money it's close to MOSI. The pub is named after the Oxnoble potato that was in use from as early as 1787, but initially considered only of sufficient quality to be used for cattle feed. Map is circa 1844.

Have to say I'm not usually one for leaving negative reviews in general, but sometimes you have to for things to improve. I booked for myself and 2 friends to go for Sunday Lunch as I had been here before years ago and it used to be amazing. I read the other reviews online before booking, however I have worked in hospitality and customer service all my life, so I know people have a tendancy to shout it from the rooftops and tell everyone when they've a bad experience but not enough people speak up when they've had a good experience. Even though I was a bit dubious because of some of the reviews I thought I would still give them the benefit of the doubt and try it for myself and I'm sad to say it, but I have to agree 100% with some of the other not so great reviews. 3 of us ordered at the same time for the same table number however one of us got our food 10 minutes before the other two. The food was cold so I had to send it back to be put in the microwave & even then I had still pretty much finished my food before the others got theirs and it wasn't because it was busy. It was quiet. There was no-one else in eating. The vegetables were soggy like they had been chopped, frozen and then microwaved, the roast potatoes weren't proper roasties, just peeled and chopped potatoes that had been shoved in the deep fat fryer & the mash was dried up in a lump and not very nice. Such a shame as this used to be a great place for Sunday lunch going back a few years & I was hoping to find a new local. It was so disappointing for what we paid, especially when you have places like The Banyan Tree and Three Little Words nearby that both do a fantastic Sunday lunch with everything prepared fresh for pretty much the same price.

Went in for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Nice atmosphere with background music and morning TV. Stayed longer than intended and had another beer. Will definitely be back.

I booked a table about a week in advance for lunch outside with friends. A member of staff called up a few days before to advise that, if we chose to sit inside, we would have to vacate our table by 3pm for the football. I appreciated the heads up and said we were still hoping for a table outdoors because of the good forecast. On the day, we turned up and were told to ‘sit anywhere’. The outside area was nothing more than a tiny square of pavement with half a dozen tables, and nothing had been done to indicate one was reserved for us. We viewed the menu on our phones, and went to order at the bar. Only then were we told that a limited menu was being served because of the football. The server asked if those menus were outside- we said no. He handed us some, we noticed that there was little choice, and so left. Why wasn’t I told about the limited menu on that phone call? Then our time wouldn’t have been wasted.

Stayed here for two nights. Clean, spacious, and easily accessible to town center, restaurants (Jimmy’s Killer Prawn is superb!) and public transport. 3mins walking distance to Science Museum!

Whilst reading the menu, the food was described as if it was Michelin star tackle. The reality - it was dry and microwaved. The drinks although nice, were priced at the higher end. The service was good but the pub was just OK.

I can see how it might have been a destination a few years ago. The decor is way past its best. Staff are very friendly and keen, could just do with a revamp. Don't eat here though, microwaved basics.

We spent two nights at the Oxnoble. Great location, room a fabulous size with everything you'd expect. Clean, airey and surprisingly quiet considering location. Bar was great, we are their twice, breakfast and a evening meal. Both faultless and reasonable. Will be our future Manchester base.

The heart of the place is the staff! Welcoming, accommodating, polite. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the only noise we heard was from the road. Breakfast and lunch were good and so were my cocktails! I would stay there again!

7 of us stayed an a Sat night. Very welcoming and accommodating. We took our cases earlier than check in and they kept them safe for us until later on. They even put our big doggy bag in their fridge overnight when we booked in a few hrs later. The rooms were lovely and clean, comfy beds and soft bedding. Nice and quiet too. Came down in the morning to friendly faces and a little chatter and advice on road closures due to cycling event. Breakfast was included and well worth it, good coffee and orange juice too. Would definitely recommend.

We were there after a football match. So I understand that they were busy. The food was good, but service slightly less we waited for one hour to get our order and some were missed. The price is not too expensive.

Nice pub with good food and good beer. Situated near crystal maze and science museum. Was having a little bit of work done so some noise but don't let that put you off. We had 2 lovely burgers and fries

Had a lovely evening here when going to a gig at the AO Arena. Room was comfy, staff were super helpful and welcoming, great selection of drinks and breakfast was quick and really tasty. They're also really well situated, dead handy for everything in the city but still nicely quiet and relaxed. My wife and I are already talking about going back.

Used to come here a lot when Castlefield was newly regenerated. Had been here back in the 1970's / 80's when the area was quite run down. Tend to visit the Northern Quarter more often now.Think it became a foodie place for a while but definitely now a pub that serves food. Had a lovely pint of Green Duck Blond.

It was excellent living just down the road from the Oxnoble. Great to pop in for a pint or several. The food here is excellent too. Pretty well priced too. They also do a Sunday Roast which is wonderful. Check out the Roman ruins nearby also!

Nice pub just next the Museum of Science and Industry. Beer is good, the veggie burgers are delicious (vegan option available), staff is nice and the atmosphere is really relaxed. Really worth a visit!

Good vibes, very decent selection of drinks. Beer garden and seats on the road. Very low-key. Great for a summers day

Limited menu choice. After ordering we were told it would be a 45 minute wait. After waiting for 20 minutes, we were told 3 dishes were no longer available. We reordered and were even more disappointed when the food actually arrived. The portions were tiny and the quality was shocking. Very disappointed and won’t be coming back.

Mediocre room, went back for a drink at 11pm and got refused at first, when got drink we were made to rush it, not even gonna mention the appalling poached eggs the next morning 😶 so I settled for toast.... safe to say probably won't be back, shame really being my first night out in Manchester

Beautiful food, fantastic atmosphere, and very welcoming staff. My first visit was with a friend and her mum, we had Laurie serving us our food, and he took the time to make conversation with us after we'd finished eating. Highly recommend the Ox for families to dine, groups to watch football, or to just sit at the bar contemplating life over a G&T ❤️

Very nice food and beer. Lovely big double room- clean, neat & tidy, and a great cooked breakfast. Well recommended for the price. It was a bit noisy, with doors banging, and traffic noise, else it would have been 5 stars.

Nice little pub near the Science museum. Good meal and great craft beer and vegan milks for coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub building has some history.

£13.49 for a Turkey Roulade - would say its good value but when it comes with almost half the stated items missing its far from it. No pigs in blankets, no Yorkshire puds, no mashed potatoes and no stuffing - all items that should be included. At no point did anyone come to clear the plates or ask how food was. If I was just told items would be missing or that I'd get an almost Sunday roast instead I'd have been happier but don't charge full amou t for half a dish, even wetherspoons would do better for less and would have included an alcoholic drink.

Stayed overnight to see Peter Kay. Lovely hotel, large room with a very comfy bed. Huge television. Couldn't beat the price either. Didn't use the pub/restaurant but it looked great and lively. Amazing location and easy to get to from the train station. Will definitely stay again.

Atmosphere was nice and staff were very good. £6.50 for a Gordon's and tonic. Worth doubling up for the extra £1.50. Do not buy their pork scratchings they are awful 😂

Unfortunately on this occasion the beer served was off. No apology, just waited for me to choose an alternative. Busy when we visited, and pies were off the menu. Standard pub fare, nothing to shout about really. Nice pub though and in a good location with a small outside drinking area. Not my first visit, and won't be my last.

We went to try the food , chicken ticka and also the salad with crispy bacon. It was awful and tasted like it was microwaved and old food. We left the food and I Wouldn’t eat here again
