Its my local!! just love it here, always feel welcome and comfortable. Danny and Lee are the best bartenders I've ever had and now good friends of mine. I searched high and low in Manchester for a spot that can pour a good Guinness and I found it right across the road from my flat.. dreams come true !!

Smelt pretty funky in the whole pub and so not very inviting. Bar staff told me it was an ongoing sewage problem in the toilets caused by the high-rise new-builds across the road, so the inference was that it won't be resolved any time soon. TBH I preferred it when it was under different ownership/management as The Beer House - but that's just me...

This saddens me to write coz back in the day The Angel was a legendary pub, I remember nights in there with it 5 deep at the bar and so many cask to choose from you just had to stay all night so you could try them all, however..!! What has happened..went in a fortnight ago with mates and I bigged the place up so much only to find of the hundred casks on the bar only 3 were on and none of them were any good and the atmosphere was dead on a Saturday night. The Marble and Turks are still cracking pubs and the Angel is in a prime location to be as good, but something isn't right. Sort it out The Angel, I want my old Angel back..!!

Great selection of real ales, lots of character. Also good spot for free on street parking after 6pm if you’re going to the arena

We made the right decision of chosen this place for our brunch! We wanted to order so many menu but there’s only 2 of us. Took a point out because I was expecting more from Aperol spritz. Maybe a nicer decoration like slice of fresh orange in it. Overall was great 👍🏼

Very disappointed. This pub has lost it's former glory. Hardly anyone in on a Saturday lunchtime. Maybe because, it's freezing cold, no food, not even crisps. The food here was legendary. No fire, even though there is an open fire. Apparently they have no coal or wood. I feel sorry for the barman, he must be so disillusioned

Cool little proper pub, it might look a bit rough from the outside. But the beer selection is top notch, great selection of cask and keg, cosy little pub.

Really gone downhill these days no crisps! beer not cold! Half the beers are off, used to be a sound boozer.

First visit for 31 years, the place still has a cool vibe. Reasonably priced, smashing staff, only thing missing was the juke box which was class. Nice tunes playing anyway.

A really homely, friendly pub. A bit rough around the edges, but the beer and cider choice is excellent, the bar staff are really welcoming, and I'd gladly go back. Looks like a quiz on a Monday, and I assume other things too.

What a great visit i had good old traditional pub so nice to see some still around. Great selection of beers. And served by a lovely friendly young lady Ella happy to chat made us feel very welcome, and seemed like she actually wanted to be there which is refreshing for bar staff nowadays. Definatly worth a visit we will be back.

Lots of improvements made recently - decorated, renovated, and the drinks selection is one of the best around! I can't wait for food to be back!

Got a dodgy pint but they gave me a lovely swan blonde for free because of the inconvenience at no charge. Lovely staff, lovely pub

I usually give all pubs 5 and just describe them, but this is a pet peve of mine. I sadly i didn't even get to go in this one due to wrong timings listed. They say they close at midnight, i got there at 11.30 and apparently theyd already stopped serving at 11.20pm, 40 minutes before actual closing time. Closing time is meant yo be the time you atop serving, why would anyone want to come to your pub otherwise. Looked gorgeous though

Great friendly atmosphere with a great selection of ales and lagers... Decor could do with an update though.

Good beer at great prices. Friendly staff and customers. Allowed us to take over the piano and have a sing song. Great night.

A friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. A wide range of beers at decent prices. A good pub for a quiet drink with friends rather dressing up and going out.

I go here quite often at lunch. Nice boozer although in need of a make over. Not sure how busy it gets in the evenings but it's one of those community haunts similar to the Britons Protection and Marble Arch. Part of the traditional Manchester pub scene. Has plenty of tasty rotating cask ale on with a sizable keg selection too (Beavertown gamma ray and neck oil etc etc). Worth a visit if you are nearby.

A local pub for local people. If you like average beer/cider, sticky floors and toilets that smell like they've not been cleaned since the pub was built, then this place is perfect for you. Otherwise, stay clear.

The best pub in Manchester. No messing about with corporate oi poloi. Dog friendly (they give out plenty of treats) and great bar staff. Their angel cider is very tasty! I can't put my finger and what it reminds me of 😉. A must visit of you're in town!

Good laid back pub. Great for real ales. Outdoor beer gardens. You takes this pub as you find it good service just chill out. I would recomend this place. Manchester northern quarter.

Stumbled across this lovely little place. A massive area outside with clever use of barrels and planks to make a beer garden. Not the most attractive space, however, it was a nice visit and it is on our list to go back. It is such a tiny old place sitting in amongst the skyscraper hotels and office buildings. Lovely staff and a good drink.

Somehow this old local has survived the massive redevelopment in this area of the Northern Quarter. It is a bit shabby and needs a sympathetic refurb but it is a haven for real ale and great cider. ( A Vimto flavoured 7.5%!) Has a friendly vibe and well worth a visit.
