It's a Saturday night...I've seen Argyle beat Bolton and now we are out on the town seeking real ale pubs miles away from the stag and hen nights prevalent across most of Manchester. And this one fits the bill. Situated underneath the Oxford Road railway station Bridge this place has an unusual unique setting and delivers an alternative to the Salisbury heavy rock pub next door. A DJ.......probably as old as me.....is banging out some excellent music which hits all the right notes....and as a man who loves his music...I am quite jealous of his acumen. Good beer, good atmosphere...a lot more students....but the music just makes you want to get up and dance....yyyeeeaaah!!

An odd vibe but we enjoyed it. Especially the bizarre comedy night upstairs on a Tuesday. Lovely outside area perfect for summer. Definitely try the cactus shots!

Popped in last night on what happened to be open mic night. Great atmosphere can't recommend it enough. Will definitely go back next time we're in Manchester

One of the best pre-gig pubs in Manchester. Great choice of lager.

Love it, Saturday night DJ doing his thing, spinning the vinyl and getting his groove on. Plenty of bar staff, so no long wait at the bar and friendly too. Only had a little dance this time because it was busy, had a good long dance the time before because it was very late and near closing so more space. Just to stave off any misunderstanding, there's no actual dance floor as such, but there's no way you can stay still with those tunes on. A Manchester diamond

It's under a bridge, which makes it very Troll-ish, but the beer was good and it's a fun spot.

Popped in for a few pints on a Sunday evening. Cool tunes, friendly staff, large outdoor area for the inhalation of carcinogens. What's not to like!

Great pub underneath the arch by Oxford Road. Always a great atmosphere and the music is excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're ever in Manchester.

Reasonably priced drinks, lovely outdoor seating covered by the bridge, so no issue if it rains. Lovely staff. Great spot!

Great priced beer for city centre. Good bouncers who talk to everyone. Different types of music each time I go in , this week hip hop but can be ska or mod

The pub itself was nice, friendly bar staff and decently drinks. It's just a shame that the Thursday pub quiz was the most soul sucking mind melting experience of my life. I've never seen a group of people become so depressed over the course of 3 soul destroying hours. The quiz was supposed to start at 7:30 but began at 8:45. My will to live was gone around 8:52. Come for the drinks, leave for the quiz. Just go to the Dockyard in Didsbury instead.

Quirky hostelry. Big space in middle of the room, dancefloor? DJ was getting started when we left. It was a very cold day in Manchester and TBH it wasn't exactly toasty in the bar. The Salisbury and the Grand Central are a stumble away so it's a good area for those fond of a tipple and some rock music accompaniment.

I went there last night. The vibes were amazing, the people were so nice, customers and workers. The door men were great! Even when it was time to go, lovely music. I had a great time. And definitely fair priced drinks, thank you.

Great mix of 60s music, brilliant if you want to dance, not too pricey either.

Rough and ready little student friendly pub. Always fun and always bustling. Check out the zombie themed Tiki bar room upstairs if you get a chance.

Lovely place. Quite casual and right off of Oxford Road. They have jazz on usually every week or so. They do have outdoors seating too.

Great pub to call into for a pint excellent bar staff good range of drinks friendly atmosphere gets busy around the night hours. Through the day there's still plenty of people about just a little quieter.

VERY expensive, or I’m just poor. Feels like it’s more for the older generation, but as a group of students it was still fun and welcoming. I did spend way too much money here, I’m a bit traumatised so probably won’t be going back. I would recommend it though ! Good music. :)

Simple old pub, limited beverage options, but lifted by live music at the weekend, so it depends what you want from your night.

Manchester Lager was quite good. Atmosphere a bit mixed with unfortunately a couple of local "characters" who could not hold their sherbet. I'd visit again though.

No thrills pub, but has a really nice atmosphere. Went on a Friday and could get £2.50 pints til 7pm. Can't complain

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
