Had an absolutely delightful lunchtime, dining experience here. Homemade steak pie, really delicious, came with a wonderfully rich sauce. Thick cut chips & perfectly cooked vegetables. Excellent, very friendly service , reasonably priced. Should also mention, first time visit & it's an absolutely stunning interior , full of character & charm. Also a wealth of outdoor seating for the recent warmer weather. All in all highly recommend a visit.

Disappointing. It’s Wetherspoons quality at double the price. Hunters Chicken poorly presented, 3 random onion rings, everything else in bowls, with a sad looking side salad. Service slow, tables not cleared when other diners left.

Almost forgot why I love this place. Didn't have a booking and they managed to fit us into the restaurant, even though it was very busy everywhere in the pub - rugby was on! Food was on point as always and the drinks were made with care. Nice to see a change in the menu with the classics still available , but they have removed the early dinner deal which is a shame

Beautifully decorated and clean, this pub manages to combine a modern and homely traditional feel. The food is very good, and the service quick and polite. I'd certainly recommend this place.

Love this place: superb location and excellent cask ales and grub. One gripe, it has new owners and decor - but alas fewer cask ales and veggie options than when I visited last. Still, stunning!

Great pub with amazing food and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. It was really busy when I went but got easily served at the bar and had plenty of room to move around. Great outdoor garden space and pizza which is freshly made.

A very busy night. Christmas Eve. We were served by Rebecca who worked her socks off for us and the other tables on her watch. The food was excellent. The service only gets 4 stars because of the time dome of the service took and that is only down to the volume of demand. We had a great night.

First time in Manchester, now I can’t wait to go back! The food was amazing. The staff was super sweet. We had a great time. The duck was my absolute favorite.

Great pub, love dog friendly. Food OK albeit small portions but I like food. The waitress didn't know the difference in her food which was awkward and showed either she is new or incompetent or both.

Delicious menu, lovely wine. Glad we popped in for some dinner. Good choice of gluten free and vegan options too! We had the large fish and chips, seafood pie, chicken gnocchi and a pizza. Lovely sorbet for desert. Always a fave 👍🏻👍🏻

Fantastic bar, can't wait to go again. I've not been to many West Didsbury places, but this one is a really beautiful building; very modern inside yet still has the character of its original features. The staff and service was excellent.

Poor food :(. We have been coming to The Metropolitan for years and enjoyed the food very much but last night was one of the worst meals/experiences we have had in a long time! We came for pizza but were told the pizza oven was broken. We ordered bread and olives to start, we have previously had this and enjoyed it with a hummus and balsamic dip. This time we had dry bread served to us with a tiny bit of olive oil to dip. No hummus or balsamic. It was dryyyy and boring. For mains we ordered the mozzarella, avocado and tomato sandwich. Soggy chunks of mozzarella on cheap white bread and unseasoned slices of avocado. It looked a mess and tasted terrible. Our service was so rushed but the restaurant was pretty quiet the entire time. We were asked twice if we wanted to order a main whilst we were trying to eat our starter. We eventually gave in and ordered it.. it turned up before we'd even finished eating. Nobody asked how the food was. So shocked at how poor the whole experience was from start to finish. Definitely a waste of an evening and our money!

Great pub, great Food. Great times. Visited her for the first time this week and was welcomed like a member of the family by Colin and his team. Got lucky with the weather and sat outside with the family around a lovely fire. Shame I don’t live closer otherwise it would be my new local!. Will definitely be back though!

Disappointing. Been many times for drinks and the odd meal, it’s a great, grand pub, but their Sunday Roast was just disappointing. Service was slow, food had that tough texture like it’d been sat under a lamp for half an hour. Just generally a bit bland. Same goes for dessert. Had to ask for cutlery for the mains and desserts too. Will be back for drinks no problem, but will be giving food a miss. Plenty of other great places nearby.

Group of us volunteering for a youth sports tournament nearby stopped in for some food and a pint after finishing up for the day. Ordered food, which was excellent, had the lamb myself, would recommend, and drinks. Lovely atmosphere, a busy place, just needs more staff behind the bar, very slow serving people.

I stopped by here last Sunday evening to do some work and get some food. Had a delicious roast dinner, unlimited and delicious roast potatoes and was allowed to sit on a larger table by myself to use the plug socket. Staff were all really great and personable! Special thanks to the young lady with a black ponytail for her patience with all my questions and being very friendly, didn't catch her name, and the man walking about who fulfilled the extremely important sacred duty of bringing me extra roast potatoes.

Lovely autumnal vibes at the metro tonight. We had 3 roast dinners served by the lovely Saoirce, she was attentive and contributed towards our special evening. If only we could have Saoirce at every restaurant. Thanks guys!

The food has gone down hill, along with the number of staff to support the covers. The staff are actually very good and are doing their best, but I've seen this place much better. The new advertising screens and the app that doesn't work properly does nothing for the customer experience. This used to be the type of place you could take anyone to, but I took my dad there recently and was embarrassed by the quality standard. The met is an institution so will attract businesses by itself for time, but I hope the senior leaders do something to steer it back to glory.

As a family of four, we like to visit fairly often. Don't review much but as locals felt we should, and also our meal receipt says they are welcoming reviews. The menu and staff have changed, again. Fewer vegetarian options, even more limited children's options - it is a condensed version of the adult menu. We were drawn in by the Sunday roast board and "free top ups of roasties and yorkies", however, when asked about the free top ups the staff did not know anything about it, nor the board it was written on outside of the building, and we were told we would pay for extras. Staff nice enough, but £40 later for two mains and 3 sides and a bottle of fizzy water and no top ups! The Met may be hinting at a different demographic with its scaling back.

New favourite place in the Didsbury/Wythenshawe area. Big fan of Burton Road when we visit and first visit to the Met was a memorable one. Great selection of beers, food was exactly what you expect. Friendly staff and a really nice clientele (Saturday early afternoon).

For the best ‘bread and butter pudding’ in Manchester, matched with great coffee, make your next date truly memorable… ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

So reluctant to say, the food was dreadful today. I really like the Met, staff, atmosphere etc, but today the food was barely edible. It took 55 minutes, which I can live with on a busy Saturday if it was good quality but not only was it poor, looked awful and not particularly warm, it felt like reheated food or at best, cooked from frozen meals. So disappointed as it's somewhere I would normally recommend to people!

Lovely place and atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and friendly bar staff. Food was pretty good but was a bit lacking in parts. Would definitely go back, even just for some nice drinks

I went here today for my mums birthday, it was the first time that we have been and unfortunately we won’t be returning for food. None of us finished our meals because the food was terrible. It tasted like really poor quality food and there was no flavour to anything. I had a beef roast dinner and the beef is sandwich beef, frozen roast potatoes that were undercooked, 1 carrot and I’d say a teaspoon of cabbage and tea spoon of mash. We did complain and we did get £20 off the bill which we were grateful for but overall the food is a big let down. However, the staff were lovely and there was a good atmosphere. But sadly, would not return for food or recommend to others.

My partner and I visited on Friday 10 March, approx 3pm. We hadn’t been for years and there had been lots of new seating areas introduced, tv’s and a huge pizza oven. We sat in the main bar area, which is was lovely, really relaxing. We ordered a cheese plate and an Elton Mess. The cheese plate was great value, although I find they never give enough biscuits. My Eaton mess was disappointing and not as written on the menu. Well it mentioned strawberries, it was two at a pinch and sliced! Never had such a poor offering of fruit and coulis. We were having a lovely day and I didn’t want to make a complaint,or what I would call constructive feedback but that particular dessert needs more fruit. Will definitely return for the pizzas when the weather warms up.

Great Sunday lunch served quickly, and my son enjoyed the pesto linguini. Could have done with the air con on a hot day (to be fair, I didn’t ask) and my poor back is not a fan of an eclectic mix of old chairs. Editing that as someone has said before, eton mess (though ours was called eton mess sundae) disappointing, three scoops of (lovely) ice cream, meringue and one strawberry.

Massive pub, indoor and outdoor space, good drinks and cocktail selection and nice decor. We came on the Kings coronation and it was rammed. The staff did really well getting through all the punters. Good atmosphere and a great location. Dog friendly.

Been coming here for years and have raved about it to others as food, drink and service used to be excellent. Unfortunately recently something has changed, the drinks are still the same and the service is good. However, the food seems to have really gone downhill. The last two times we have been there the food has been nowhere near the standard that it used to be. The Met Burger and Met Roast were fantastic but not so much anymore. Hopefully just a blip and things will return to normal...

It is just "fine" these days. The cost of food and drink is eye watering to the point where similar venues in central regions of London aren't as expensive. A large coke (not a pint) is almost £4. A pint of beer is over £5 and whilst the chicken salad was very good, at almost £20 there really isn't value in what is essentially slightly fancy pub-grub. Whilst well staffed, tables are often slow to be cleared, Staff are very friendly

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
