27/11/23: still one of my favplaces in Northern Quarter. Always a great selection of craft ale, craft beer and cider! 21/08/23: Vault City: Blueberry & Limoncello sour and Track Brewery: Sonoma November 2022: photo update. September 2022: another day, another visit. This time with Archibald! Noticed the inside outside area, which we must have missed this Summer. Looks fantastic. Terrace NQ as usual has a great beer and craft ale selection. We went for Vocation; Sunset Overdrive Piña Colada sour, 5.5% and Vocation; Bread & Butter dry hopped ale, 3.9%

Not a favourite destination for me or Martin. Been a few times and it can get really busy. They sell real ale so Martin Meerkat had a pint of Vocation Bread and Butter. A good pint. The missus was not impressed with her pricey wine. Sadly another card only establishment so loses a* for that. Apparently there is a roof terrace but I have never been. The bar has the urban industrial bare brick look.

This place needs to be thoroughly investigated. My boyfriend and I were refused entry simply because I'm blind. The security guards even tried covering up their discrimination by saying they can't accept mine or his forms of ID’s, just because they didn't want to let me in. They also kept saying it was too “crowded” and “busy inside”, and that “people were pushing each other over”, which is ridiculous because I've been in these kinds of environments before and deserve to enjoy a good night out just like anyone else. Plus, if they really deemed the place was too dangerous, then they should not have been allowing other people in either, because it would have then be unsafe for everyone, not just specific people with certain personal characteristics. I even asked if anyone had been hurt in the establishment, the guard said "no", meaning there was therefore absolutely no reason to refuse me entry. I was thus very disgusted by the treatment I received here and will definitely take this further to the authorities as, by behaving in this manner, they have broken a number of laws, includingthe the Equality Act of 2010, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Care Act of 1974 and its 2014 revision. This happened on Saturday 15th July between midnight and 2 AM by the way. Avoid if you have a disability!!! Employees here are clearly too prejudiced to let you in just like any other customer. If I could give 0 stars I would. Very discriminatory and unlawful behaviour.

A wednesday afternoon and the rooftop barman took almost 15 mins to do 3 coctails the 2 other orders of 1 drink each,then with a crowd waiting decided to pull through a new beer,left unserved.

Great atmosphere, DJ really gets the crowd going. So nice to go out and dance again with a good crowd of people. A great city centre late-night bar. Chilled vibes. Trainers welcomed.

Upstairs and outdoors in the Northern Quarter - a real gem with unique outdoor feeling in the middle of the city. At night it reminded me of dark evenings in florida but without the depressing humidity. There is a bar upstairs in the terrace so you don't have to go down to get drinks and the staff were lovely, really helpful with the drinks as we descended into drunkenness- eventually leaving at around 0300 in the morning.

Fabulous. We only had hot drinks, but they were delicious. The drinks menu was huge. The place is a lot bigger than it looks. We sat on roof terrace. A gorgeous sun trap. Staff were really friendly. Highly recommend this place.

I was disappointed by the strict door policy. I am 31 and don’t tend to carry ID because it is not generally a requirement for entry across the city of Manchester. But this place is different. I had to cut my night out short because although I showed a scan of my passport I was still refused. I think this goes too far and that the door policy could think of more creative ways of profiling people where necessary.

It's a good place for a night out. The DJ plays different types of music Afrobeats, grime, US hits, bashment. There's no gate fee to enter just show your ID. It's getting really popular, so the queue outside is longer. However, the queue moves fast

When in Manchester it's a go-to bar. The staff are friendly and efficient. It has an outdoor smoking area. Like it for its chilled out vibe. It also has a roof terrace but we've usually stayed put on ground floor.

Average experience tbh I don't see the attraction. Staff not knowledgeable about strengths of beers, place very basic, I suppose it's only plus it a roof terrace

0 if I could give it probably won’t bother again in there. was with friends, enjoying the evening bartender served all of them besides me (stood at an empty bar) all of a sudden more people come over still ignoring me and served everyone else which of course annoyed me and I called him out on it. Decided I’d get better service downstairs after and he was stood telling the staff downstairs not to serve me. Ruined the entire evening. Shocking service wouldn’t even mind but I was stone cold sober.

The big security man on the door on a sat night is a very moody añd añgry guyàsking me fór photo I'd ,but only passport or license .The young gírl bes atide him piped up too ,as he told her too Ño visible signs tó stipulate your nonsense requirements Making rules up about after 10 pm Didn't ask the black guy behind me for id thóugh. Probably some kinda mafia securíty yóu got góing on! Tunes are dry and stale anyway ...

This place has a door man who thinks he's got the heys to the mansion, they insist on photo ID , that is fair enough , but when presented with a colour photo of your passport ( which is accepted by legal authorities ) they say its not enough , apparently they are more privileged than MI6 ! Bizarre, a front man with a chip on his shoulder, shame , last time i will go there . Treated disspacably.

Hidden gem of the Northern Quarter with a lovely rooftop bar. Has a fantastic beer selection including a good range of German and Belgians.

Racist establishment! Went in tonight and they only letting black people in ! They don’t care if you have ID they just care about the colour of your skin! Absolutely disgraceful. Wanted to come in but was judged based our race. As someone of colour I would expected more and some representation but the guy and girls on the door was more concerned about letting their “mates “ in!

Great bar in the northern Quarter very good beer selection

I love this place! Compared to the other gentrified overpriced hipster bars and pubs that line the streets of the Northern Quarter, this one really stands out. Staff are always friendly and laid back, great people. The rooftop is gorgeous and has amazing atmosphere. The drinks are gorgeous especially the cocktails and above all else are super reasonably priced, especially compared to nearby venues. Relaxed, scenic and a good time. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re in the area.

Had a great time here on a Saturday afternoon. Good drinks and amazing music. Busy place but loads of staff, would recommend.

(Club review) Nice vibe, good people, hip hop, afrobeats, r&b type music, large upstairs terrace eith a second bar to talk, get drinks and enjoy a chilled out vibe away from the heated dancing down stairs. Drinks a bit on the expensive side but they have a nice shot called baby guiness (if you like baileys)

Banging Tunes , old school R&B. Drink prices competitive and good dance floor. Toilets are a bit of a let down though, definitely need checking throughout the night.

Would like to thank the door staff for being very accommodating for my friend who has a disability. I was expecting a hard no but they were super cool about it and made arrangements to provide disabled access. Great customer service during a very busy Saturday night. Oh and always bring ID!!

Very nice place to go dancing and have the last drinks of the night.

Dark, grungy, friendly, good.vibes, not the cheapest but a good place to start the night. Two entrances on different streets, one closes at 11pm so be aware if you're meeting friends.

Spent many a cosy evening on the terrace,the bar is always chilled with nice ambience. Terrace bit more inhospitable if it's raining just a heads up. There is a bar up on the terrace also.

Proper nice little spot for a few drinks, the upstairs beer garden is nice too! Been a couple of times and staff have been lovely both times.

Nice place to chill but felt uncomfortable. Did not stay long. Rooftop bar doesn't have a view. £10 for two pints, got home and checked with my bank they charged me £11. Not worth it, and telling customers wrong price, should have walked away.

Top place to just relax and vibe to the music. The dance floor is reasonably big as well but not the best.

-The drinks are abominable prices. -Dark and danky toilets that don't seem to be kept on top of as the night goes on. -DJ played repetitive music for hours which was incredibly loud. As a group we wanted to go for drinks and to talk so this was a huge inconvenience. -Sketchy clientele Wouldn't return.

Was looking for a quiet and cosy place to have a drink drink. We arrived around 2/3 o'clock so perfect timing for us. Place is very spacious and they have a great selection of drinks, both bottled and tap!

A wonderful roof-top bar thats a sun trap in Manchester. If you're looking for standard beers [bud or peroni in bottles or heineken and other common beers on tap then this is not for you. That's not to say the choice isn't great because it is, with craft beers, IPA's and other wonderful beverages. This was my first visit and I have no idea what it'll be like in the winter but I'd like to think there's heaters and maybe even some umbrellas.

Really fun, nice song choices and everyone is just trying to enjoy themselves. No weird sleazy grabs from guys. 10/10 great night

Although the atmosphere and surroundings were very nice and welcoming, the bar staff was absolutely rude! He had an attitude when he was taking our order and seemed clearly annoyed for no absolute reason.

Always loved Terrace, great place for a chilled beer or two. Some of the beer prices are a little steep in terms of the guest craft pale ales etc.

Great staff and a nice vibe. You can order pizza, which gets delivered alla takeaway, all high quality wood fired pizzas

Spent the New Years in and it had a great party really busy.Absolutely loved it and enjoyed! Had a blast...until next time!
