Pretty bad breakfast quality. Not to mention that their flat whites are just americanos with a bit of milk on the side so just a warning for coffee lovers out there. The latte was acceptable though but they could really improve the food quality.

Had a really lovely evening celebrating my mums birthday before a gig, they had low tables in the bar area which were great as my mum struggles to sit on high stools. Paul was exceptional, very attentive and kind. A really credit to your team. Please forward on our praises.

Brilliant place and great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and coped well with the Christmas rush. We were amazed how quickly the food came out too. Lovely place and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My friend and I went here for breakfast after a girls pamper night away. A few bottles of cava were involved and we needed a proper full English the next day. We stumbled upon this slug and lettuce which was a stones throw away from the hotel we stayed at and the car park. We both had the full English and it was lovely. Everything you needed and very easy to take anything off. Everything came as it should my friends mushrooms she wanted removing were etc. The breakfast comes with a coffee or tea and you can upgrade to bloody Mary's if you are beginning your party at breakfast (unlike us haha). The coffee was AMAZING came with hot frothy milk on the side (which i had and was beautiful). My friend prefers cold milk and when asked the staff brought her some over. All of the staff were friendly and super helpful. Lots of space at this venue if you are ever thinking of going with a large gathering and all very clean and modern.

Got my order wrong, sent it back and we were really nice about it but the lady serving us (one with short hair) was very rude about it. She also dropped my fork on the floor but thought we didn’t see so she gave me the same fork again. Tipped at the start too which I now regret! Also the food was terrible in the end I left nearly all of it!

My daughter met up with friends on Saturday for her birthday and I pre ordered drinks and food over the phone on the Friday. Everything was perfect for her. Drinks were as ordered and the food was well presented and fresh. There was a young man looking after their area who knew exactly what he was doing. Well done Slug and lettuce.

Enjoyed a bottomless brunch here on Friday evening with friends, it was the best ever! Didn’t feel rushed at all and never got asked to leave our table or anything when the 2 hours was up. Jackie our server was fantastic, very friendly and kept us entertained (and kept our glasses well topped up too!) I would highly recommend this place for a bottomless brunch!

we order a bottle of wine, the bottle was all dirty and full of dust and that it wasn't what we order and they did'nt tell us anything, the glasses were dirty, but very dirty, I had to ask them to give me new ones and they bring me some all wet, I'm not complaining but the minimum for a bottle of wine is to bring the glasses dry so that the wine doesn't mix with the water... the food is good, but the service is very bad. I've worked at the bar and that's why I don't see it as normal for them to serve wine like this.In the picture you can see the cup full of drops of water, which is how they were given to me.

I often meet my friend and sister in the S&l on a Saturday afternoon as I am now disabled so book a table. We like the one on Piccadilly and the one on Albert Square. The cocktails are good value at 2 for 1 and other drinks are also reasonably priced. You can also order meals and they do afternoon tea.

We had the bottomless brunch Food was very nice, I had a bacon cheeseburger it was very filling and very messy, Paul our server was very attentive and lovely as were the rest of the staff. Thank you we will be back again soon

Really disappointed. I used to really love coming here for food and drinks. Brought my family yesterday, all the tables and seats were dirty. Used the bathrooms and there were flies all over. Ordered food and drinks through the app, when the drinks arrived we asked the person (who I assume was a manager) if we could have something to wipe the table, they said they were too busy at the bar right now, the bar area was around half full, all seated, no one actually ordering at the bar. A young lad came to give us cutlery before our food arrived, we asked him if we could have something to wipe the table with, he came back straight away and sorted it for us, he was lovely, did a great job serving food and making sure everything was okay, without him this review would have been 1 star. The food was ok, not as good as it used to be and the cocktails were extremely watered down. Won’t be returning.

Visited for lunch with a few work colleagues, the food was very nice and the staff very polite. The venue looks excellent and all the tables where spotless. The service was quick and friendly and my steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended

Really nice drinks. Good place for a pre-drinks aspect due to the 2 for 1. The 'happy birthday' cocktail would highly recommend. The interior is really nice as well and the place is in a good location. Staff could've been a bit more friendlier but it was a Thursday night and they might've been having a bad day so wasn't a major concern. Only had a dessert as we were drinking mainly but that was very nice.

Family get together which was spoilt to a degree by a few rowdy customers on two separate tables. Food was lovely, had brownies fir dessert which wasn't very nice. Needed cream or ice cream as opposed to the the icing sugar it was served with. Also the sliders was described as beef but when delivered to the table, no signs of meat. When queried, we were advised they were Sloppy Joe's not burgers. This should be reflected on the menu.

recently visited the Slug and Lettuce at Albert Square on Friday 6th Jan. We arrived around 5:30pm. I am sorry to say that I had far from a pleasant experience. We decided to cancel our original food booking at a different restaurant, to try Slug and Lettuce instead before a night out at the theatre. Myself and my partner seated ourselves down and decided what we wanted to eat. We ordered food at the bar, i asked the server for 2 Ab fab cocktails, an s&l burger, halloumi fries and a chicken burger with the addition of onion rings to the burger. It states on your menu 99p for onion rings. I paid, and before i could even ask for the receipt, the server walked away. As we waited for our food, we sipped on our drinks, which i have to say were 90% ice. Food came about 20 mins later, and the only way i can describe the food is microwave. My partner described it as what looked like McDonalds on a plate. We know it wasn't, but this is the quality of the food. The halloumi fries were a squirt of dressing with the 4 fries on a plate, no salad as the picture shows, just SO underwhelming and for over £6 a complete rip off. Considering I had just paid £45 for this meal, we felt very ripped off. In addition to this, the waitress didn't bring any cutlery, so we had to eat with our fingers, with no napkins. The onion rings also came in a bowl, which made me think i had been charged for a side portion rather than what i asked for. No one came to ask how our food was, and when we had finished our food, we sat there with our dirty dishes in front of us for over 20 mins. At this point I was so frustrated that I went back to the bar and asked for the receipt, to be asked in a rude manner 'why do you want it'. I did not realise it was a crime or it should be questioned for asking for the receipt for something you paid for. Just rude staff who shouldn't be working if they think it is ok to question a customer. It showed we had been charged for a side portion, and i obtained the receipt for this email. I would have raised this complaint in branch if we did not have a theatre to get to.

Rebecca had absolute brilliant service and was so amazing with our large booking. Really appreciate her trying to accommodate to us. Highly recommend. Mo in the kitchen as well was great, the food was fantastic. Couldn’t appreciate the staff more. The bar staff were amazing too but i didn’t catch any of their names.

Matthew was really attentive & amazing service, waited on us & was so pleasant and polite, felt like we were the only people in the bar however it was very busy so Matthew did a really good job. Thanks so much, we really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend.

I came in for the After Work Squad deal, which is a bargain 😀 £10 for a pint and a main course I choose the peri-peri chicken skewers which were delightful. I whish I would have taken a picture, but I was to hungry. Thanks the chef(s) for this, the chicken was perfect 🥰 Definitely will come again.

Came in here for a pint with a friend and it was the perfect spot to rest after the Christmas markets. Food was stunning and the pint was poured by the most friendliest barman. Will defo be returning soon!! Can't fault it!

We had a cocktail making lesson here yesterday with Matthew. It was fab! I dunno what he did differently to us all but on both occasions his cocktails were far better than ours 🤣 We'd already eaten a meal beforehand which I've give 4/5 stars as although mine was lovely, one of my friends was disappointed with hers. Overall rating of 5/5 though for the cocktail making lesson, the service, atmosphere and the nibbles during the cocktail making lesson 🤤

Amazing food, amazing service, and lovely atmosphere throughout the day We went for breakfast and it was nice and quiet. However, tea time on a Friday night, I suppose we should have expected it to be a little 'wild'. Staff were fantastic. Good selection of vegan. Will definitely go again.

Whenever my friend and I go from brunch we always choose S&L Heron House, Albert Sq and again it didn't disappoint. Warren who waited on and served us had been amazing and hasn't left is wanting for anything. He's been on the ball and accommodating us and not leaving us without anything we have needed. Excellent customer service. Thank you for making our time here enjoyable.. not to also mention he seemed to be along waiting on everyone here but still managed to find the time for us and everyone else. A++

The service was really nice.. We had a mocktail making session with Matthew. I had all the mocktails, there was this offer of 2 for 1, with burger and chips, it was so filling... The inside was nice for pictures as well.. The toilets were neat as well. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

The nachos were amazing the drinks were incredible the staff were polite and quick but one member of staff gang stood out to me was I believe a lady called Kailey she was so polite so quick and on the ball constantly smiling and asking us if we needed any more drinks or any help etc will definitely be going again she did an amazing job only thing I’d say about the place is there was one member of staff who would b giving dirty looks to me and my party all night long and never once came over to ask how we were enjoying our food/drinks seemed very rude I didn’t catch their name but if I did I’d have put in a review of them at the bar

Gave food a 5 as we didn't eat and would have been unfair. The external area was a disgrace, lasses everywhere and you couldn't sit down if you wanted to as every table was just full of empties. Inside was pretty empty, tables sticky I actually cleaned ours myself. Service was slow despite the bar being empty inside. My cocktail wasn't shaken so was just layers of Syrups and alcohol. I had to stir it for ages to get it all mixed around the ice Young girls crying their eyes out in the toilets drunk. Yeah, I wouldn't go again that's for sure !

Had a really good time doing bottomless brunch with a group of friends, Ash was amazing super quick service and she was very attentive to our table. definitely worth the money, my only down fall was there was no darker spirits on the menu but really didn't effect our visit. We will be back

My daughter had her wedding party, it was very relaxed and informal, food was lovely, and plates just kept getting topped up. The staff were really helpful and just let us get on with it. We came here for my girlfriends birthday and Alfie was the BEST bartender ever sang happy birthday in front of everyone on his own made her feel very happy and made sure her night was as good as it could be. Couldn’t recommend a better bartender. Thanks Alfie for making her night the best

My husband has been working down in Manchester for the past year so for his last weekend we've been to many places including slug and lettuce for bottomless brunch. First time we came here and probably the last. Booked a table a few days in advanced, for 10 for a birthday party. we came in to realize that there was no table ready and were given two separate tables in a crowded area. Having put them together it could only comfortably fit 8 so it was quite a squeeze. Given that there were large tables with only 4-5 people sitting on them, I asked as to why we weren't given a proper table. the reason being that they were fully booked. The waiter was very rude and threatened to kick me out for complaining. Not sure why you would accept a large booking if you don't have space. The drinks were nice though.

Drinks were unreal, food was nice and Ash was amazing at keeping our drinks topped up! Such a lovely waitress and a really nice place, amazing value for money. The service really made the experience and we will definitely be back :)

Pina Colada was weak, the burgers were average. One of the 3 burgers we ordered had a burnt patty. The burger deal seemed attractive initially but it's good only if you want the basic burger and fries set. After all the additional top ups, it really wasnt worth the money we spent for the quality of food and drinks we were served.

Booked a table for 1pm on a Saturday. Shown straight to a table . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinks were ordered and arrived pretty quick. We then ordered food off the menu which has a good variety, from sharing meals to burgers/salads & loads of different choices. The inside was nice & clean. For 5 adults drinks & meals & a children's meal it was very reasonable. Under £70 for us all. Would reccomend & visit again.
