Last
time
I
was
in
here
I
lamented
the
lacklustre
choice
of
real
ale.
You’ve
solved
that
by
stopping
real
ale
completely.
So
sad
to
see
this
once
fantastic
pub
in
such
a
state.
The
place
was
shut
for
a
few
years.
I
now
realise
that
the
pub
I’ve
known
and
loved
since
1978
never
reopened.
Just
sad.
Just
to
answer
the
reply
from
the
owner,
a
review
is
a
personal
thing.
Google
averages
review
scores
out
to
create
a
fair
picture.
And
your
problem
with
that
is?
The
fact
remains
that
there
is
now
nothing
at
the
Boundary
that
appeals
to
me.
For
someone
who
likes
fizz,
I’m
sure
it’s
a
great
pub.
For
anyone
who
likes
real
ale,
I
advise
them
not
to
bother.
If
informing
people
what
you
sell,
and
don’t
sell,
is
damaging
to
your
business
then
I
am
sorry,
but
that’s
the
way
it
is.
There
are
ways
to
promote
real
ale:
advertising
with
CAMRA,
holding
mini
beer
festivals,
etc.
I
wonder
if
you
have
tried
any
of
these
things?
There
are
thriving
real
ale
pubs
all
over
the
country.
It
just
needs
commitment.
But
if
you’re
making
all
the
money
you
need
with
your
present
business
model
then
that’s
fine.
And
can
I
just
add,
the
important
point
is
that
real
ale
and
beer
festivals
WERE
what
the
pub
was
famous
for.
I’ve
not
gone
into
a
pub
and
criticised
it
for
not
having
real
ale
on
when
it
never
really
has.
When
the
pub
reopened
you
had
a
legendary
past
to
build
and
trade
upon.
You
have
instead
chosen
to
move
on
to
a
different
business
model.
I
think
you’ve
missed
a
trick.
