This used to be the go to place in Manchester. I have to say not so any more. Despite being quiet it took ages to get served, it was lacking atmosphere and the toilets were beyond disgusting. Sadly a favourite no longer. Added to after response. This was Saturday evening and to be honest as it took so long to even get a drink, it seemed pointless mentioning the bathrooms. The only member of staff that was friendly and conversational was the lovely guy you had in the door

Great bar, tons of selection especially gins and staff are brilliant! Really enjoyed it in here and it's definitely one we'll return to when back in Manchester, love the paddle boards as we could try out new gins

Had the most amazing experience in Alta's bar last week. I booked a gin tasting session for me and my friend and at £25 each I thought it was a bargain! The man who lead the session was so knowledgeable about gin and was genuinely passionate. I learnt so much about the history of gin and he was very easy going, letting us drink at our own pace and coming over for a chat and a new drink when we were ready. He also showed us some local rum as well which was a lovely extra touch. Thank you so much, I will definitely be visiting again, the amount of guns on offer is incredible!

Went there cause of the outside space thinking we could smoke but apparently we couldn't.. Edit: I don't understand what smoking has to do with Covid, I understand my review might be unhelpful to you, however it will be helpful to other smokers who might want to come there, and this is the point of reviews at the end of the day.

Reliable choice for drinks in town. Great gin selection but good choice of beers too. You can also get gin paddles to try a selection. Also good a pretty big beer garden terrace for the city centre so great for a drink in the sun.

The only place you need for gin, with over 500 different gins and a new one introduced every week. The bar staff are extremely knowledgeable, pairing each one with the perfect tonic from a large variety. Today, we got tickets to their World Gin Day tasting session. There were some lovely local gins and enough samples to get us pleasantly tipsy. The bar owner was present and he is a nice chap too, with a genuine interest in gin.

One of the best places in Manchester if you like gin! Huge selection. Good atmosphere. Had lunch recently and food was great and very quick service.

Fantastic selection of gins and tonics. Great atmosphere and interior decor - the outside terrace is nice, too. Definitely pricey, you pay for the quality, but that goes for just about anything. Would definitely recommend for a tipple. My drink pictured is the “D” raspberry gin with fresh raspberries and elderberry tonic.

Nice selection of gins here (both local and other) and perfect for an after work drink or three with the girls.

Great atmosphere and cocktails, a train line runs over the top and creates a very cool thunderous sound inside the bar, at the weekend not the best place if your looking for quiet conversation.

"A Gin Eutopia". Situated in the railway arches of Deansgate, Atlas Bar has been a Manchester icon for over two decades, and has matured into an elegant, quality bar specialising in gins from around the world; over 570 at the last count! The largest offer in Manchester City Centre. Winner of Best Spirits Bar North West and Best Bar Team North West in The Great British Pub Awards alongside the Design My Night Best Beer Garden Award and a finalist in the 2019 Star Pub Awards for Best Spirits Bar in the UK. Fantastic food in this wonderful bar. I'm so glad they've never changed the name! Friendly service and great veggie and vegan choices. The food looks good and is tasty. We even got mini mincepies with our drinks.

Good location - right next to Deansgate train station. Always get served at the bar very quickly. Lots of seating. The drinks are on the pricey side. The clientele is very white-collar office worker in the early-to-late evenings, Monday-to-Friday. More of a meeting place, or a one-for-the-road place. Great for what it is though. Very clean.

Went for a bottomless brunch and had a fantastic time. Drinks flowed and the food was delicious; all for a reasonable price. Highly recommended the honey gin if your into it and can't wait for next time!

A bit disappointing; there’s 4 shelves of gin on offer but no bartender can tell you indepth about them or bitters/tonic/garnish to add. Used to be a gin bar, now seems to be just a bar

Although busy, friendly and approachable staff with a brilliant menu and huge range of gin. Nice atmosphere too.

Great bar, great location, great atmosphere. Highly recommended for a quiet drink with friends. Now the sun is shinning, sitting outside makes the visit even better.

  • 4/5 Brendan C. 1 year ago on Google
Great drinks offering, especially the gin tasters. They offer five different gin floats on paddles, where for about £10-15 you get three single measure gins with a tonic of your choice. For the ABV/£ value this is pretty good, but for the experience it’s excellent. Located in a great place, easily accessed from Deansgate-Castlefield station. I would usually visit the Knott bar if I found myself in this area, but now that that place is closed, I wouldn’t go anywhere else other than Atlas bar. We went here for graduation drinks after a meal at the Wharf nearby, and it was amazing. Great outdoor space at the back.

Too long since we were here but every bit as good as we remember. Great drinks, really good food and friendly staff. The outside area is stunning. Won't be as long until the next time.

Visited with a friend who uses a wheelchair for mobility, only to be told they don't have a ramp to make the venue accessible. They also don't have an accessible toilet. The equality act is a thing and one in 5 people have a disability. It's about time venues like atlas bar stopped discriminating.

I’ve been going to Atlas Bar for quite some time usually for breakfast at the weekend. The food is locally sourced which is great and it’s by far the best breakfast I’ve had in Manchester - I’ve had the Full English, Vegan breakfast and Mixed Berry pancakes to name a few. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend 🌟

Great little bar. Popped in for a late lunch. Busy, but not rammed. Staff were very friendly and the food was really good. The fried chicken sandwich and pumpkin soup were both tasty. And very generous portions. I would happily go back.

Such a shame. Complete jobsworth at his best. Refused entry due to a no more than 8 in a group policy. 4 couples (40years old) after a nice drink in what we thought was a nice bar. Stay clear of this place

Great bar, limited menu but enjoyed what was ordered. Wasn't keen on the "coleslaw' a bit soggy. Would prefer a crunchy alternative. We went for the chicken sandwich which was delicious. Drinks were pricey but it is the centre of Manchester! Lovely outdoor sun trap at the rear! Well worth a visit.

Lovely, friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate us. It was a perfectly chilled summer evening on the outside terrace at the back. We wished we could have stayed longer but the terrace has a cut off time due to council restrictions and it was a school night. Big thumbs up! 👍😁

Called in for lunchtime drinks and snacks. Greeted by friendly, cheerful staff. Hot day and we sat on the terrace, which was clean and well maintained. Staff were attentive but not clothing so. Ordered drinks and some bar snacks. Both were delivered to our table efficiently and cheerfully. Food was freshly made and piping hot. In terms of bar snacks, the helpings were generous. Leaving was a pleasant experience in that every member of staff spoke to us and wished a pleasant day. Thoroughly recommend.

Popped in for a coffee on a Friday around 6.30pm. Busy, lively and welcoming. Plenty of staff, who were quick and friendly. Reasonable prices £9.10 for a coffee and a pint of peroni. Convenient location as right over the road from the tram stop and train station. Would go again.

I had the full breakfast, simply brilliant breakfast, poached eggs were perfectly done, the sausage was azing and I love sourdough toast so all in all a very pleasant experience, I'll be returning here for breakfast soon!

Nice place polite staff, very annoying that despite using the QR code for the NHS app they still insist that you sign in with a pen that everyone else has touched and paper that has come into contact with all their customers.

Simply a cool trendy and hip bar located in the Deansgate Locks. In regularly come here for drinks with a few of my friends. There is a beer garden with Smoking and non smoking areas. Haven't tried food there yet, but they have a good selection of beers on tap. Sadly none local, the range of spirits and gins is good too.

At the reception we were told that we can’t smoke outside because people complained about smokers or something. Why can’t you smoke outside while no one else is sitting outdoors or close to you?

Disappointed to be honest. It was nice enough inside but seemed a little confused on a match day as if it wanted to be a football drinking pub or restaurant food spot. Dropped in as was desperate for some food, asked if they had any specials on - the £5 cheeseburger on the board is the only one. Ordered a beer and a fizzy orange (£8 somthing), barman seemed more interested in chatting to his mates and when I asked him to top off my beer cause it was 2 inches of head he splashed a few more millimetres in and glared at me.

Without a doubt in the top 3 bars in Manchester City Centre and I would I have drank and eaten in nearly all of them The staff are attentive, efficient, friendly and proffer. The clientelle match the atmosphere created by the staff They have excellent security staff, never seen even skirmish in the bar on any visit I went in there a few weeks ago ordered a drink the guy served me and said you are a regular it's on the house Let me assure that in a City Centre venue that is as rare as MCFC European Trophy I rarely review any bars, restaurants or clubs because it's very difficult to find a venue that hits most of my expectations I have managed, operated and owned bars, restaurants and nightclubs all of which were outstanding Because of this I am a great customer or your worst nightmare A very close friend of mine used to own Atlas Bar It was good then and it's better now
