Decided to call in after passing it several times but never going in. Standard pub with large seating area for food. Good menue with lots of options including specials. Busy at the time of visiting which is a good sign. Food was good not bad but not amazing average pub food which worked. Only small down side is the carpark is pitch black in places and in poor weather visibility was very poor. It does require some sort of lighting. On the whole good place.

DISAPPOINTING AND TOTALLY OVERPRICED!!! Read reviews on The Hinds Head so we gave it a go. How extremely disappointing!!! We ordered home made fish finger sandwiches on brown bloomer bread and a side portion of chips. The meals arrived on thin dry brown bread the piece of fish was one small piece cut in half. Hardly any fish in the sandwich charged a disgraceful £9.25!!! The portion of chips consisted of no more than 10 chips charged at £3.25!!! Who on earth set these ridiculous prices for such small portions and very poor quality food??? The salad was dry/old covered in a tasteless dressing. When questioned a member of staff I was told the bread was bloomer bread. Total rubbish it was a thin cheap loaf of brown standard bread. I dropped my knife. Bent down to pick it up. The smell from the carpet stank of sick!!! No way was this value for money. We will not be returning.

Very disappointed with our recent visit for Sunday roast. Used this place for years and never had a bad experience. The Sunday roasts have always been amazing but this one was below their usual standard. The gravy was like water, usually it’s really thick and just like homemade. That was a real let down. I like veg undercooked but cauliflower was so hard I couldn’t get the knife through it. Roast potatoes were barely roasted at all. It was embarrassing as I’d raved about the Sunday roasts to the people I was with. Maybe a one off blip but has definitely put me off going again.

We nipped in for a cheeky pub lunch. They managed to squeeze the two of us in . The service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious we had flatbreads and sandwiches. Guinness was a nice pint. So I had two.

Met a friend for lunch, picked it for it’s convenient location and no stress parking and we were very pleased with our choice as it was absolutely fabulous. From very attentive staff to the excellent food choice. If I had to find fault, it was the massive portions, told the team they could cut it down by half! Will definitely go again.

Great outdoor área, beer garden, spacious for children to run around, shade, great variety of drinks... Inside is just normal, a bit old fashion, and food OK, nothing special. I will go again just in summer for the outside area

Lunch was great. Nice chive of baked potato. I can’t remember the topping. I just remember it was vegan and very filling. Very reasonably priced.

Food, staff and atmosphere absolutely fantastic however seating area outside is not the greatest for eating. Raised benches are really nice but a bit too high and the rest of the tables are too low and uncomfortable without any back rests. Inside the pub is lovely and welcoming 😍 Dog friendly outside

It’s not bad here but be warned — your Guinness will come out of a can, and not be on draft 😂 To be fair, I do remember being mesmerised by how it looked whilst being poured with the light behind it showing its true ruby colour

We hosted a wake at this venue for my beautiful brother. From start to finish, the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and thoughtful. They made sure everything was perfect, and came to work early to set up photos and flowers. I really couldn't have chosen a better place for the wake, and the staff enabled us to have a beautiful day remembering my brother. A special thank you to Lucas and everyone else who went above and beyond, please know it is so appreciated.

We decided to hold our brother’s wake here and we could not have been happier with our choice. The staff were so attentive, we had more guests than anticipated and the staff quickly bought out more food to ensure we didn’t run out. Service was quick, the pub itself is lovely. We especially enjoyed the huge beer garden. Thank you all!

Ate here today at 12pm. The presentation of the food was fantastic. The hot chocolate and the ice cream were delicious. Fudge cake was good, although not very hot. Overall, a fantastic atmosphere and good food. The staff were also very welcoming. Also, a dog friendly environment.

It was a family birthday celebration visit and everything was fine. Our table was organised and the service and food was top class. It was not my first vist to the Hinds Head and I have always found that they set a very high yet friendly standard of service. Thank you.

First time I was here it was great, really good food and the barman was amazing. Every time I've been back since its gotten worse. Staff half asleep and food was awful, thrown on the plate and had been sat under the heater for ages, came out crusty. So unfortunately I won't be going back. Shame.

Had a lovely lunch here and tried something off the specials board. It was beautifully cooked and presented but most of all delicious. The staff were professional and friendly a winning combination. The whole experience was a delight, well worth travelling from Bolton for. Oh and the company was great too!

Me and my partner tried this pub as we are new to the area and seen such good reviews. The service was nice and friendly, the food was okay nothing to rave about but the prices wow! £66 it cost us for 2 drinks each, a starter each and a main. That is not what I expect from a local pub! This has put me off ever going there again as you can get so much better quality of food and drinks in a high end restaurant for that amount of money! (£8 for 3 southern fried chicken strips for starters) shocking Not the price we expected from a local pub!

Would like to thank the staff at The Hinds Head who were absolutely fantastic and accommodated our little car group yesterday evening. Food was fantastic and we all had a fantastic evening. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you.

Decent pub with food cooked to order, it seems, rather than heated up from a central kitchen. A clean and well presented tavern.. with extensive paved and grassed outdoor area with tables ..4 not 5 because nothing exceptional about drinks selection, then again I'm fussy !
