Went here for the Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! It's as good as it looks in the pictures. Staff were friendly and the service was great but above all the food itself was superb. Had the fried pork belly bites and terrine to start and the beef and trio of meats for main, all absolutely beautiful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend going. We left a shopping bag in the restaurant, which they ran down the street to give us!

Let me start by saying, when the food arrived, it was delicious. The service was a bit off from the start - we stood in the doorway waiting for someone to notice us. Not a biggie but sets the tone. Here’s the thing, it was a small, perfect storm of situation against us…the first waitress wasn’t great. For example, when I ordered my steak she didn’t ask how I wanted it, wasn’t interested in our wine order. The wine turned out to be off - I tasted it and I should have called it then. But you know what it’s like - it doesn’t taste or smell so terrible that it’s obviously off but after half a glass you don’t enjoy it and realise. I know, middle class privilege- but when you’re spending your hard earned cash…We also got stuck behind a big table (it’s a relatively small joint) so our starters took nearly 30 mins to arrive. But when they did, delicious! Chargrilled tender stem broccoli and a ham hock terrine. As was the main course - Flat Iron steak and chips (with peppercorn source) and roast breast of Goosnargh chicken and, as was desert - chocolate, cherry and vanilla mousse. Our second server was charming and made up for everything. So, all in all, a mixed bag. We will be back to give it another go. Clearly the kitchen knows what it’s doing.

I cannot begin to say what an incredible evening we had here. I took my partner for his 40th and as I live in the Midlands, did a lot of research on where to go that was walking distance from our hotel. TNQ stood out with its reviews and it's easy to see why. The food was sublime, I could have eaten my starter alone ten times over. The cocktails were lovely and the atmosphere was perfect. As I explained we needed somewhere quieter, they couldn't be more accommodating giving me 2 choices of suitable tables. Both of us completely cleared our plates for both courses, one of the best meals we both had ever eaten. I would go again in a heartbeat.

This place should be 5 stars and if I just had the starter it would have been. This place absolutely has the making of a brilliant restaurant but so many little things let it down. It wasn't busy when we went but food wasn't checked on mains before bringing out. The table behind us only had 2 of 3 starters. Delivery of meat not put away in a timely manner so you practically trapped over it on way to bathroom. Hopefully it was just a bad day when we went this time as would go back just for starter!

We went for the Express Menu 2-course at £17.95 on a Saturday. We booked a table at 4pm. Everything was excellent. Attentive and friendly staff, busy atmosphere, and generous portion dishes at reasonable price. For starters, we had Ham Hock & Chicken Terrine (with crackling, croutons, chutney) and Salt & Pepper Squid and Whitebait (with squid ink mayonnaise). Both were decent. For mains, we had Homemade Beef Burger and Lamb Kofta Flatbread. The beef patty in the burger was a bit dry and it fell apart. We think it's because they've used lean meat and there wasn't enough fat to make it juicy and hold it together. Otherwise, both were equally good. Highly recommended.

Excellent relaxed restaurant in the northern quarter. A hidden gem uncovered for me by a friend. Well worth heading to. Will be going again! Service was as good as the food. Pea soup fish & chips & a lemon meringue.

After a movie on the New Year’s Day, we decided to have a lazy late lunch and just dropped in TNQ where we were welcomed by Ali who so nicely greeted us! Ali & Paria made our day super special with their kindness and great hospitality. The roast dinner is a must have! We will be back soon for more! Wonderful food, wonderful people and wonderful experience!

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews and photos and we were not disappointed. We had the mushroom dish and the mussels to start, followed by the lamb dish and veg gnocchi for mains. The gnocchi is quite filling, so be aware if you don't have the biggest appetite. Somehow we managed a pudding too; chocolate terrine, which was heavenly and a sticky toffee pudding. The latter is something I wouldn't normally choose, but having tried some of my partner's serving I may just have it on our next visit. If you are a custard fan then just be aware that it isn't on offer with the puddings. It's cream or ice cream only. They also have a good quality wine list to choose from. We were asked about allergens and the staff team could not have been more friendly and helpful. It's not a particularly large restaurant, but had a lovely atmosphere. We popped in there, after 9pm on a Friday, without booking and were lucky to get a table. They do serve until 10pm so useful if you're wanting to eat a bit later. We loved it so much that we booked to go back the following night and try some more of the menu. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food.

We enjoyed a very good dinner celebrating our anniversary. The service was excellent so it was food! I loved the carpaccio and I tasted the tuna as well and it was amazing. My duck was a lovely nice recipe and my partner meat was delicious as well with the sauce. We enjoyed then the cheeses and dessert that were delicious! Special mention to the wines as well! I loved Passori!

Went on Friday and had a great meal with my partner. The Venison Carpaccio was wonderful and the thick cut pork main was top notch. The service was good although the waitress forgot a few things and had to come back to double check as well as some things not being in to make certain cocktails. But hey that stuff happens and didn't take away from a great dining experience

I had a pretty good roast dinner at tnq, my friends and I went for a Sunday roast it was a group of 8 of us so we had to pay a £40 deposit. we got a mix of either the pork, lamb or veggie roasts between us, the consensus was the veggie roast was the best. I had the pork which was very flavourful but all of the roasts were kinda of let down by the roast potatoes which had either been reheated or left under a heat lamp so the outside was tough and leathery. I also had the vegan pannacotta (I'm a dairy intolerant ) which was quite disappointing it had the texture of firm tofu and kinda tasted like tofu too, I couldn't taste the coconut at all, the mango sorbet was nice though. The food was good but what really let it all down for me was the services our server really wasn't happy to be at work that day clearly, we didn't get menus and had to ask for drinks menus, she rushed us through ordering forgetting to take some of our drink orders which we had to call her back over for. And snatched the menus back from us. Not sure I'll come back tbh it wasn't my kinda place.

Absolute fine dining. We came during a 50% off menu offer and wow the food was insanely good! If you're wanting to be full then it's probably not the place for you as portions weren't huge, with the price and the status we didn't expect massive portions. The service was fast and the waiters were lovely too! I honesty cannot recommend the food enough, as someone who doesn't like to spend masses of money - I would still come back here when there's no offers on. That's how good this food was, we had a 3 course meal for 2 people, and drinks. During the offer the total bill came to about £65 which was great value especially with the quality of food.

My first introduction to fine dining, and was so glad I came here for it. We came during a 50% offer, and would happily return at full price! No exaggeration to say it was the nicest meal I'd ever had (I had the pork belly main). With all three courses, and the quality of service we received, the premium level of dining was evident throughout. As someone very inexperienced with fine dining, but passionate about food, my meal here has opened up a whole new ball game. I highly doubt anything will come close to the pork belly at TNQ though!!

TNQ is an experience. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to Manchester, this place is a must-visit for anyone seeking contemporary British cuisine at its finest. The relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, coupled with the culinary expertise on display, makes TNQ a true gem in the heart of the Northern Quarter. I can't recommend it enough and eagerly anticipate my next visit!

We were recommended TNQ. We went for the express menu so we could make a gig. Premium dining, not cheap, but great value for money. Really pleased to have found a restaurant where it delivers a thoroughly classy dining experience. So many restaurants I've been to recently charge the earth yet let you down in one way or another. TNQ has re-instilled my faith in dining out. Will be bringing friends in a couple of weeks.

Wow. What a fantastic meal. We all had very different tastes and made different choices from the menu. Without exception everything was hot, fresh and very tasty. The staff were knowledge and happy to recommend food or wine.

We had their express lunch menu and the food was excellent! We had squid+whitebait and pork belly for starters. The squid and little fishes were perfectly fried, the batter was light and crispy on the outside and the squid and fish were fresh and soft on the inside. I had expected the pork belly to be abiT fatty but it wasn’t at all. The pork belly was roasted to a perfect crisp and fat had completely melted off, leaving tasty crispy savoury bits. It was a delight to have it wrap-style in the fresh crisp lettuce coupled with the sweetness of the sweet thai chilli sauce. We also had the steak which was done to our liking and the unctuous bone marrow sauce was a perfect match to the meat. Service was quick and good, nothing more to want. Definitely a good place for a quick business lunch or if you’re just wandering about, perfect for a nice chatty afternoon escape.

Enjoyed the visit with my friend yesterday and we enjoyed our visit there. Had the express lunch menu and it was great. Food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly.

Recently visited the restaurant on a Friday after work for dinner. Parking was challenging but this always is in the Northern quarter, especially since they've blocked the streets off from cars. Many great things to say about the place, its certainly fine dining with fantastic service. They've got Camden Hells on draft with a perfect crips taste but only serviced in small glasses, no pints available. Food presentation was impressive and everyone enjoyed their meals, the steak I found a bit chewy though for my liking and given the price in comparison with other high end restaurants I was expecting a more 'melt in your mouth' experience or would have given it 5/5.

Impressed by the Herb crusted fillet of cod. It's possibly the best dish I've tried in Manchester. Other dishes are also delicious.

Pretty good experience overall with the express menu. Food nicely presented Pork belly starter was quite chewy though. Flat iron steak also a bit small, especially compared to the very generous portion of the Porter pie. Service friendly and professional

1st time visiting TNQ, we didn't book but we quickly realised we were lucky to get a table as it's very popular. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed, the team were all very helpful and friendly. Service was very good and the food....well we both had a Pork Rissotto dish and WOW it was excellent, beautifully cooked and bursting with flavour...I would absolutely recommend it. As I said this is a popular restaurant and I can understand why. Superb and definitely would recommend.

Attended on 07/12/22. We were waited on by Ali, who was incredibly helpful, polite and quick with our orders and was very informative about wine pairings. Despite a large group taking up the majority of the restaurant (maybe a Christmas do we thought), we still had incredible service from Ali and the entire staff alike. As for the food, I don't think I have ever eaten a meal as delicious as this in my entire life. I ordered the Venison Carpaccio as a starter and the Fish Stew for my main (as pictured), and both of them were cooked to absolute perfection. I cannot wait to attend again!

One of my fav in Manchester! There’s a period of time that I went back every week. ! The fish stew was absolutely amazing! Sea bass very flavorful! Octopus so tender! Nothing on the menu disappointed me! The service is also very nice. Will definitely go back!

The restaurant is lovely with a nice ambience, you can see the chefs cooking from wherever you sit. The tables and table settings are nice and you can look out to the Northern Quarter from the large windows. The service is very good and quick, the Bloody Mary is absolutely delicious. The olives were amazing, good portion and a variety of three olives; black, green and Manzanilla. The roast dinner was nice but not 10/10. The beef was fatty and a bit hard to chew but the roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and sweet potato mash were delicious. The house white wine is also really tasty, light. The lemon meringue pie dessert was also delicious. The restaurant is on a corner in the Northern Quarter, great central location. I like this restaurant, I will definitely go back.

This is one of those places that we constantly walk past and had never been to. Now that we have, we reckon we’ll be back for that fancy, belly-warming fine food & delicious desserts Our favourites of the night were the Roasted Beetroots [£8], Baked Gnocchi [£17], and both our desserts of Chocolate Terrine [£7.50] and Sticky Toffee Pudding [£7.50]

Great spot for some delicious food and great wine list. This would be personal preference but the starters on the menu weren’t appealing to us so we just ordered Mains with lots of sides. Again this would be personal preference and the mains were delicious! Service was great and we had a good experience overall

Absolutely superb again!!! Early valentines for us the smoked haddock croquettes the star of the show for me and my wife loved her carpachio and belly pork. Lovely restaurant and fantastic staff. A hidden gem 👌

Some things were great but other disappointing. A lot of the food was fantastic. My friend had the lamb which looked and tasted incredible. The wine selection and recommendations were also top notch. The desert was also ace. Lovely and attentive serving staff too. Unfortunately the steak was very disappointing and overcooked even after sending it back once. The cocktails were way too sweet and unbalanced. We also ordered a fair few truffle dishes and found them a bit lacking, think the chef on the day was scared of overdoing it 😅. I have since learnt that people rave about the Truffle chicken dish, so would have to try that if I came back. Overall, quite hit and miss but worth a try if you're in the area.
